  • The story of how the very first Scramble and Motocross race came about. I have researched the topic for many years and in March 2024 we ran a Centenary event over the same land as the original. This talk and presentaion was given to a paying audience in 2024.
The Scramble 100 centenary race was run in March 2024 by Witley MotorCycle Club which is also 100 years old this year. Witley is a fantastic club running many types of off road motorcycle events - www.witleymcc....

The Scramble 100 race event was sponsored by:
Triumph from a Corporate/Global perspective - many thanks Greg. Triumph makes a superb range of motorcycles including scramblers! www.triumphmot...
Triumph West London. As a Triumph took part in the original event and did very well and we hoped to find an enthusiastic Triumph dealer to enter a modern Triumph and our local dealer more than stepped up and even built a couple of very trick Scramblers to commemorate the event. Credit must go to Brian Harris of Triumph West London for building a special 1200 Scrambler and for racing the big beast around the track. www.triumphmot...
Belstaff is also a century old in 2024 and makes the most iconic and usable of classic motorcycle clothing. They very kindly donated a Trialmaster jacket for the best dressed competitor.

Duke Sales have a huge archive of superb motorsport films and very kindly allowed us to use some period footage in this film. They also provided prizes for the Scramble 100 event. Excellent people that are full of enthusiasm for motorsport and especially motorcycles.

Castrol Classic Oils. Castrol have been making oils since the very birth of the motorcycle and they very generously provided many prizes for the Scramble 100 events. Their involvement was especially welcome as their parent company BP, had also sponsored the original event in 1924.

Mortons Archive. Whether it's a rider from 1937, a showroom photograph of a rare bike model, or just a highly unusual shot of a rider in action - they have it all, from the earliest days of motorcycling. They kindly provided many of the images that we used. Have a roam around their archives - spectacular!

International Motocross Museum. For the last 46 years, Terry Good has searched the earth for memorabilia and the actual motorcycles ridden to championships by the best motocross riders of their era. Terry has acquired enough artefacts to fill a 100,000 square foot building and now is the time to make all of this available for the public to see. This will be the Smithsonian equivalent for motocross history. Nothing like this exists in the world today. On display will be the largest collection of championship bikes and memorabilia in the world. www.internatio...
The event was originally run by the Camberley & District Motor Club and it was reformed for Scramble 100.
