That plastic device from the "wine cellar" is an airlock for a carboy. It's used in making wine to allow the fermentation gases to escape and keep air and bacteria out. My late husband and I made wine for many years and used those on the fermentation vessels. Thank you for pointing out the different types of construction in the building. There is certainly a difference between horse hair plaster & lathe and mudded sheetrock. The thickness of the walls is one indicator, as you pointed out. There were some exterior walls with no insulation at all, and other with pink fiberglass. The cellar is the best place to see differing construction because you've got most of the utilities there, electrical components, types of piping used in the plumbing, water access and central heat, etc. , as well the obvious foundation and cellar wall construction materials. I will say the destruction of this place was next level; like a group of insane rioters went at it hard. Just goes to show the minds of some people.
It looks like you were there before Noah. He posted his explore yesterday and that thing was standing up. He really loved the fireplaces but the spiders in the basement? He swore and noped tf outta there. 😂 The vandalism really upset him though.
Hi Brent! Such a shame the vandalism occurred in this once glorious house. The kids everywhere were not a taught a morales. What a place and thanks for sharing.
It breaks my heart to see what was once likely a beautiful property abandoned and forgotten. But it breaks it even more, as you waded through a sea of glass, to see the destruction that creatures with nothing better to do create. Even though the house was abandoned and set to be demolished (to make room for a collection of identical, nondescript houses), no one had the right to destroy “just because”. But I appreciate what you do - letting us travel with you to imagine what was.
I was hoping you'd take that stained glass, just to protect it. It was the cutest little light. So the owners sold this house? And the new owners bought it and never moved in?
Really sad vandals trashed this place. It would have been an amazing home, that kitchen was really something at one time. Thanks, Brent and Merry Christmas to you and your family
Hello Brent! I will never understand the young generation getting their jollies destroying what took so long to build. They have no respect for other people's property ! You can tell that it was once beautiful! Thank you for showing us! (still broke down from my wreck so I love these
Unfortunately every generation has its destructive element, I can remember my grandparents in the 50's and 60's saying similar things about the youth of that era. It is only a tiny minority of 'youths' that do this sort of thing.
Easy to get lost in that house! The kids really went to town on the destruction Such a nice location and it looks like it’s in an isolated area Great find..as always..Merry Christmas 🇨🇦❤️🎄❄️
The smart kids would have dismantled and sold the doors, windows, appliances and finally they could have taken as much copper as they could get out. Thats an easy $5,000 at least.
So sad to defend destruction when many want a home. Thank you Brent stay safe. Love the way you ask us and use your thumb to say let's go. You remind me of my brother who sadly died last December he had the thumb same to communicate. You remind me of him. Thank you beverley stone UK
Oh how beautiful! Nothing fancy, just wholesome and comfortable. Even the basement wasn't creepy. Would be hard to leave, but I guess for that kind of money, most people would. Thanks for sharing.
Well dear Brent, I'm once again re-watching another one of your super great explores❤👋 I enjoy your quality work! No one else ever meets/comes close to your channel ❤ At 72+yrs old, and unable to be up & about much anymore, spending time with you on your adventures shows me another piece of this world ww live it❤ I always pray for your safety! GOD bless you young man. And thank you once again❤
Oh WHOW! Brent, this is a stunning piece of land; and was probably a lovely family retreat or home at some point. The destruction is very sad, as someone may have purchased and renovated this property. You find so many great and interesting places to share with us Brent!! God Bless you, keep you safe, and Merry Christmas to you and yours🎄🎁❤
Abandoned Urbex Canada thanks for sharing this video with me Brent i really enjoyed it so much it is sad when some one owns a big house and sells it then it ends up like this house it was a real shame thanks agaion i can't wait to see your next video and God Bless and thanks.
It's sad enough that people lose their homes no matter what the circumstances. But the way these people feel they have to destroy it also really sad. I often wonder how they would feel if someone came into their homes and did a number on them??? I'm quite sure they wouldn't appreciate it at all.
Beautiful location, I bet it was pretty nice back in its day. The additions don't really seem very thought out and take away from the look of the house instead of adding to it. I bet it was a quiet relaxing place to live, makes me think it would be an excellent place to write and be with nature.
Fabulous drone work as you always do and nice location. Shame the vandals trashed it so thoroughly. They probably had a games room downstairs where that other fireplace was. Maybe had a pool table or other entertainment there. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours!
That plastic contraption in the basement is a wine air lock. It serves as an air lock while the wine is fermenting in a large container. it prevents outside air from contaminating the contents of the container. Water is inside to provide the air lock. I know because I've made wine for well over 25 years.
I hope there is a lot of land with this place because the farm house is not only ruined by vandals , but by all the bad additions. This place makes no sense.
Fantastic explore Brent. Beautiful house. I prefer the original part. So much nicer. Stupid vandals. Once a beauty now it's all trashed. Really enjoyed the explore Brent, it was awesome.
It's sad to see someone's hopes and dreams vandalized. But for $14 million, I'd say that something more energy efficient and more contemporary could be easily purchased.
HI BRENT,, I THINK THE LAND WAS WORTH 14 MILLION DOLLARS ,, THE HOUSE WAS VERY OLD AND THE KITCHEN CABINETS AND BATH ROOM TILES NOT MUCH WAS UPDATED SHAG CARPET,.. I LIKE THE OLD BIG FIRE PLACE IN THE LIVING ROOM AND THE WINDING STAIR CASE BUT NO RAIL .. THE CRASHERS BROKE EVERY WINDOW IN THAT WHOLE HOUSE AND LEFT A HAMMER IN THE WALL FOR OTHERS TO USE IF THEY DIDNT HAVE ONE ... THE ONLY THING THEY DIDNT BRAKE WAS IN THE DOWN STAIS BATH ROOM THAT COLORED LIGHT ON THE CEILING , THA WAS NICE.. YES, 70S BATH ROOM.. BASEMENT FIRE PLACE WAS AWSOME!! GREAT POND.. THANK'S BRENT...
I guess the owner sold the house as you said for land value, but before the person who bought the land could put his idea of building houses into play the pandemic happened and the value of the building skyrocketed and I am sure everything got put on hold. Now some developer is going to be bankrupt or may someday be able to build the houses they started out to do but for a lot more money. He may be looking for more investors. Thanks for another interesting Explore.
This once beautiful place is sooo very sad 😞😰😢 The vandals have been sooo very destructive to this breathtaking property 😞😢😰 I can’t understand why they get pleasure out of destroying something that someone has worked so hard for & put there love, sweat & tears into😞😢😰 Perhaps they’ll never have anything as beautiful 😞 I agree that the middle of the house was the original & each sides were add ons!!! The fireplaces were gorgeous!!! The property breathtaking!!! Makes me sad to see this property turned into cookie cutter/track houses 👎 What a shame😩 Thank you Brent for sharing this with us before it’s too late…I loved it 👍❤️💕♥️
an interesting house, you can clearly see how, as the family grew, it developed and grew ... a great place to just live, come in the evening from the field to the house where they are waiting for you... and in the morning at breakfast, watch the weather change and plan what you will do today and you should cook something, because for Christmas children will come to you and bring their grandchildren ...
Hey Brent, Another great adventure. It burns me to see how destructive some people can be. No respect. I think the only thing that wasn't bent or broken, was the stain glass light cover in the bathroom, and the mirror in the upstairs one. They must have been working on the home at the time of sale, because it looks like none of the windows have their casings around them. OR the kids have torn them off? It would have made a nice home if it had been completed.
its not that far out in the sticks, at 19:44 you can see recently built houses in the top right. This leads me to believe that this house had ALOT of land and a developer bought the land for said new builds. The house is worth 1.5mill max, but the 40-50 new builds are going for around 700-800k in Ontario so ooof.
I was excited to watch one of you're videos but when people vandalize like they did here I can't watch. See you on you're next video buddy. Stay safe and Happy Holidays
Nice explore. But that place was a mess in more ways than just vandalism. Not a lot of thought put into the additions but I guess it was functional for the family maybe. It is a beautiful piece of property.
Wow,what a beautiful place!! Canada is so beautiful! Makes you wonder why anyone would ever want to leave such serenity, beauty, open space..it's mind boggling to me!! To get up and see that everyday would have a godsend for sure, thanks Bret, great video
14 million can change your perspective. You could easily get used to a new address with that kind of money. Maybe they got dibs on a brand new mansion overlooking the best possible spot?? The place was a mish-mash of old crap and run down, worn out wanna-be "mansion". Bunch of old sheds with bad roofs all somehow tied together. I'd take that cash and RUN!!
debralovorta546 I would say the money. Realtors come to people's homes all the time and ask if they want to sell. Maybe that got all the money they wanted and more. Or it was just too big for them. Lost a job. Divorce. Couldn't pay taxes on the house.
GEES! What the heck is wrong with people? How does one get joy from beating on and destroying defenceless inanimate things? It boggles the mind! What a beautiful home and location, otherwise. Thanks for the tour.

Thanks for sharing Brent, Certainly a property with some wealthy previous owners.I am guessing they were neighbors of the Eaton family"s compound on another ajoining lake in this region.Maybe the buyeror currennt owner passed awya or went back to thier native country!
At least the basement wasnt destroyed@ the hole home was beautiful when they lived there.Adults and 18yrs old mass destroy everything ( Too bad cant catch em and make places better when they did the damage.?Respect and morals went out the broken air after the 80s .Brent thanks for finding this @ abandon home to show the beauty and the private lake i bet good fishing there). Great to see a new video. Always sad to see what the home could have looked like when someone living there. Hope you had your steal toe boots one. The stairs down to the basement from outside. My grandparents had that. But there were doors on it. So no one could fall in. My grandparents home was built in the late 1800. There son did add on after both of my grandparents passed away. Why were there so many washing machines in the basement and even a stove??? Do you think it could have been all family living there and having there own section of the house,?? Just an idea. Have a great Christmas and New Years with family and friends. Stay healthy and safe😀
Well this one left me cold. Even without the vandalism this seemed a soulless place. I imagine the last owners were looking for something to spend their money on. A pity it wasn't left in it's original state.
Weird, electric base board heat (I have the same thermostats in all rooms in my house), fireplaces, AND a furnace in the basement. The old part upstairs has the vent holes in the floor to allow heat to rise upstairs like the house I grew up in. I'm not a big fan of the layout of this one, although I do like the giant room. Great explore though, and really nice area.
I believe @ethanminnie did this year's ago before vandals got at it. It was so nice! Thank you for capturing it now. It's so sad and ridiculous how stupid people are. I just don't understand it, what's the point! I love your videos!

Sorry. I never saw your reply before I posted mine.
When I first saw it, I thought it was a bong, lol, then I was like "oh wait, that's a fermentation lock."
For the life of me I will NEVER understand destroying property like they do at these abandoned places.
They have no respect at all.

The same here in the U.S., but I think worse.

Code enforcement in most states would never let roofs get that bad!
