      He has to work his acttitude and behaviour, because he has a lot of talent. But unfortunately, the talent isn't everything in sport, every player needs patience and constancy. If Tomic improved these aspects, he would be between the top 20.

      The more rich he got the more lazy he got. He said himself he doesn't have enough passion for the game because he was forced into tennis.

    Federer's words: “Many seasons now in a row we have seen or heard that top 10 is the goal, and he’s missed out on it by a long shot.”
    Tomic never reached top 10, and never got closer than 16th, that was his rank when Roger said that.
    Now he's 124th... Roger seems to know a thing or two about tennis.

    • @Daniel-dg3np
      @Daniel-dg3np 6 років тому +7

      Yes, but if we are honest it takes massive effort even to get to number 16. Yes, he had a poor attitude but we saw him mostly in his teenage years and he was obviously one of those kids who struggle with a consistent attitude. I don't think he will ever play professional tennis again but my opinion of him 4 years ago was that he needed to take at least 12 months off the tour and work on his strength and fitness while getting a mental break. Maybe he will come back in 2019 or 2020? He's got a lot of years left in front of him.

    In a professionel match there are about 500points to be played. Given his amount of talent there are for sure some great points for him. But you might have noticed that Bernard is trailing in almost every match that was chosen for Bernard´s single best shots. If you pick the best shots you can make the lesser player look like a winner.

    Tomic's an amazing talent but I feel he needs to bulk up a little. He often seems to be overpowered by stronger opponents which almost forces him into a counter-punch stykle as he soaks up his opponents aggression. That said, he is great for the game, a little controversial off court but on court he probably has the biggest arsenal amongst all the upcoming players. His ability to disguise shots is surpassed only by Federer. Hopefully he keeps his head & we can see more of him in the coming years

    Feeling no ill-will or desire to see BT - or anyone else - fail, I am somewhat perplexed to why he continues to compete when it's obvious he has no desire to be there? Commentators often talk about his unorthodox style and ability to hit powerful flat balls causing havoc for his opponents. With a little hard work and a progressive coach, he would have been in Top 10 years ago. I still had hope for BT until watching his post-game press conference after losing to Cilic in round 1 of the 2019 Aussie Open. What a waste.

    great touch, very personal way of carrying the shots, illegibility of the shots, great dexterity on the left side with "old style" backhand. pity, really pity about the emptiness in his brain. I remember the quarter-finals at Wimbledon in 2011, he was just 19 and almost drove that year's unplayable Djokovic crazy with an absolutely personal and old style tennis.
