I have an idea for your app. How about you make up a currency for the app and we buy the lessons with that currency? We can get the currency for free by running ads. So that way we don't get random ads out of nowhere and the people who are using the free trial don't miss out on anything in the courses. If you don't want to run ads then you can get the premium trial. You can try to make the premium trial more convenient such as getting more of that currency and have cool features along w/ it. It's a win-win!

IKENNA!!! I'm from indonesia. Thank you so much for changing my life🥺 6 months ago, i couldn't even answer when people ask me "how are you?". But, after I watched your youtube videos and read your book in June 2021, and decided that i'm gonna take my IELTS exam in Dec 2021. I used your method & took classes on italki intensively as you said. And in Dec 2021, I did my IELTS exam and I got a 7 (C1 level)🥺 Now i'm able to apply to US universities and hopefully I can continue my master's degree there. Thank you very much!!! you're truly my inspiration✨

For people learning languages in the comments you don’t need people to learn a language yes, it helps to have someone to talk to and have someone for support and part of a purpose but I have been learning languages off and on for almost 17 years and I mostly had to rely on myself!

Hi, Croatian here. I can imagine this scenario happening 100% 😂
It's very rare to see people show interest in our language, not really among the popular ones XD But if you try to speak like you said even the most basic of basics all doors are open to you. People here really appreciate it! Same thing happened to me on my trip to Italy. I went to a restaurant and tried to order in Italian. My Italian is broken as heck but waiter understood me and was glad that I tried. We are divided by different languages but doing even little steps can break barriers. So go for it people, give it a shot!

I’m currently learning Thai and Tagalog and it’s honestly really crazy how much has changed because of it. Tagalog is my mother tongue, but I lost it growing because my mom only understood and couldn’t speak, so now that I’m relearn it. It’s really been nice to finally reconnect with that part of myself and connect better with my family. As for learning Thai, I realize how many more opportunities I have and I connect with my Thai friends more when speaking their native tongue and although it’s hard, iKenna has been one of my main motivators and was the reason I started learning in the first place. So thank you and I hope you better soon!

The reason, I started learning Swedish again in the first place, was a friend of mine moved to the USA to live with family and work and I got busy with school so we didn’t keep in touch for a few years but he moved back to Sweden not long ago and I got my degree 7 years ago. We started talking again asked how my Swedish was. I said not great but I can start learning again as a way to connect. Also, I started learning Russian again as well to get in touch with the Slavic part of my roots.

I have studied Japanese by myself and have gotten to N2 and I stream and have a whole Japanese friend group where we plaay video games together everynight and I was shocked to see my love of Japanese translated over to Vietnamese I've done some Korean, Chinese and Spanish but never really felt the connection but with Vietnamese it's like I'm studying Japanese again I love it so much!

I was learning russian before because I really love their history and culture (take note, I was only learning it for fun)
I'm originally studying german since I'm planning to move there in the near future. You know, to be able to learn the language, you have to talk to the natives. It was all fun learning the language but I also fell inlove with a russian guy whom I randomly met on a language learning group on Facebook.
Had to stop learning russian or hearing anything about Russia, had to dump all my sticky notes and hide all my russian literature books because it constantly reminds me of him.
On the other hand, I can now fully focus on learning German 🙂
