Easy Network Automation using Netbox and Ansible

- Ansible is an automation tool that can be used to perform tasks on a range of devices at once. Combining Ansible capabilities with Netbox allows us to have not only a dynamic inventory but also being able to perform network operations suchs as backup the running configuration of the devices.

@@silesiocarvalho Seriously though, why in the world would someone manually enter thousands or tens of thousands of pieces of information...all of which can frequently change when equipment is swapped out? This is absolutely ridiculous, especially when SNMP will take care of all of this for you in the background with little to no human involvement. I swear to God I think this new network automation fad is a conspiracy to thwart the efforts of network engineers everywhere to manage their networks. With Ansible and Netbox and all of this nonsense, you end up spending hundreds or thousands of hours of work to automate some small thing which breaks in a year when they push the new update.
Totally understand and agree with you.For those who have been in this "game" for sometime, it's easy to spot when they're pushing a new trend. I will say this though, automation is beneficial in companies that have a lot of equipments and need some tool that helps them reduce repetitive tasks, without increasing costs.
Netbox / Ansible is the industry standard, you're a fossil
I use AWX for automation. I pass on Netbox though. Source of truth? Who has time to populate it with all of the information. That’s what SNMP is for
