This Honda GX390 is being modified with a Hipa Dual Fuel carburetor for a future project. It would be cool to set up this engine for a gas golf cart that could run on both gas or LPG/CNG.

You need a shut off petcock between the fuel tank and the carburetor. When switching from gas to propane you first shut off the gasoline supply and drain the carburetor float bowl. Drain is at the bottom of the new unit. Follow the hose from the float bowl on the new carburetor. When using propane you need a low pressure regulator and hose assembly and no choke. The spring loaded button in the middle of the diaphragm purges the line air and gives the engine a shot of propane to start. Wire and solenoid is for a engine with low oil shut down. These units are made with auto and manual choke carburetors

Yes I have back problems and had Lazard surgery in Oklahoma City
58 years of mechanic work and I still do small engines if I’m not hurting very bad

Wow I can't believe that engine started so easily. Guess that's a Honda for you. I definitely like the idea of the duel fuel supply carburetor. I have a generator that needs a new carb so I just may try the duel carb. I will pray for you to get your shop. Thanks for the videos.

I feel ya about the shop. I keep putting off making a BrucePender lift solution to help these getting old pains, but I am just comfortable sitting on the concrete, or even a milkcrate. Every once in a while I see those scissor lifts or carts come up for free on craigslist. but I dont have time or was too late to get it. I got a storage shed with intention to use as a shop, its full of crap now too. :)

Yep put a eBay starter kit
There really easy and simple
Need a 2 1/2 inch hole saw and a
2inch paddle wheel to sand hole out to fit and it needs some slack

Just my thoughts on the door of the generator....maybe the door has to be on, to aid in air flow, to keep gen cool?

The generator is insulated very well. The noise is minimalized but I don't know how hot it gets. I'll have to measure the temp one of these days.

Honda has the fuel filter in tank filter and I cut the filter off
