I totally agree how the current timeline affects their fes cards! It seems that Ena is the first one to overcome her fears at this rate I think mafuyu is next but who knows I also love how Mizuki seems to be happier in this fes story I felt that they went through a lot in general
Here's a fun additional fact: repentir also has a specific meaning in painting - evidence of changes made by the original artist (e.g. guide sketches, repainted parts) in the process of painting the final, uh, painting. In English they would be called pentimenti (from Italian: repentance). This ties in neatly to the theme of Ena's card story, with her uncovering her past works, and finishing them with her present mindset.
so good as usual! Ena’s card story and symbolize I resonate so much with, it’s so heartfelt but sad at the same time and I love her dearly. The call backs to her first focus cementing her development from the first step to where we are now for her. Mizuki’s story is straight up heart breaking but seeing them able to tear down some of their walls enough to trust those who care about them is something so pleasant to watch. I have fears of people talking behind my back and having hard times to trust even though I’m aware they care unfortunately. Seeing their cards get colder and more blue as the only warm resolve they have is the bittersweet smile on their face is something i can’t get over.. I do love how Mizuki’s outfit is reminiscent of their casual and how Ena’s is painting attire like her first focus but it’s definitely more mature and professional(?) in a way. Other than that another fru banger 🔥 I loved watching this and your analogy is perfect as always!
This video made me realise how much I relate to Mizuki, liking cute (in my case, aesthetic) things, trying to hide my interests from everyone, distancing myself from everyone and other things. Now I kin everyone from Niigo (used to kin almost everyone, except Mizuki until now)-
I really really loved this analysis and i really resonated with Mizuki as yes i have been judged and all but...a perfect world without the people i hold dear?, I would rather let that world go, then lose them...thank you for the analysis, it made me understand more of Ena's card and of course more for Mizuki both of the card stories made me cry a little, once again thank you for ur hard work
Sorry if this comment is too much. Your vid just got me thinking about a lot. Plus, I wanted to point out how much I liked your observations! As someone who appreciates the contradictory nature of Mizuki’s personality and feelings, I loved the whole breakdown on “solitus”. I feel silly for assuming it would just be “solitude” but latin (false friends strike again). I hadn’t really thought about that aspect of why Mizuki’s cards always give me such a sad feeling, but the cool tones surely do play a part as well. And I did not recognize that was a sakura, wow. The ship of Theseus comparison really is an apt way to illustrate how Mizuki has slowly rebuilt their ability to trust others thanks to their experiences with the members of Niigo (and their kamikou friends). This comment would be way too annoying if I expanded on the praise with my thoughts on Mizuki's card (too many), so I'll leave it at a jokey "loving Mizuki's kimi no yoru wo kure era", "haha trained Mizuki has a not-BLÅHAJ", and "I'm not crying at their growth, you are." As for Ena, I love her water motif as well, but you made me want to expand on that by talking about how great the throughline of how her last name fits into it is: “Daybreak/Dawn” While the clouds are probably a nod to infinitely gray, the forest image makes me think of the art she drew when she first found Kanade's music. Iirc it was "the moon shining through the forest thicket on a dark night", so it also has that "light in the dark" mood that feels very "Ena". Considering that was when she was at one of her lowest, and also before she'd really met everyone, it's fitting that it was a scene at night, as the "dawn" hadn't even arrived for her yet. Infinitely Gray and the art she drew for that storyline is all, “Seeing the sun break through the clouds after the rain.” In the case of this card, the initial imagery of drowning, struggling frantically while on the verge of death, still desperately reaching for the light pouring down, has that "light breaking through the darkness". And the shift into grasping that light and refusing to fall back into to depths, represents, as you also said, how far Ena has come. She's reached a place where she's able to draw that girl with a shining expression, and face all her old art. That sparkling sky isn't as distant, it's within her grasp, even if she can always improve. Or, to synthesize the previous two sentences in a cheesy way, the girl who admired the sparkling sky is now the one who's shining. It's also kinda adorable how she directly associated her “light that breaks through the darkness" with the members of Niigo, how being with them reinvigorates and inspires her passion. I’m weak for Niigo’s whole “solitary people come together and learn to be happy and actually rely on others” thing in general. The daffodil thing was super neat to learn, and the comparison to the dark ages and renaissance was cool! I love how Ena has moved from spite to embracing what she loves, so it was great to hear someone pointing it out such a fun and succinct way. For me, after crying over Ena (and totally not crying over Mizuki, definitely not), the thing that stood out to me was the contrast between Ena and Mafuyu’s moms. Ena tried to throw away her old art, but her mom made sure to keep it for her. Acting as the one who took the sketchbook out of the garbage, she cherished her daughter's passion even when she was in a place too dark to cherish it herself. Mafuyu’s mom, on the flip side, is the one trying to throw away the one thing Mafuyu has started to want for herself in a long time. She’s the one throwing away her daughter's passion, scared that her “good girl” is becoming corrupted by pointless “distractions”. With Mafuyu as the one that has had to stop those dreams from being lost, no matter how suffocating and controlling her mom continues to get. Anyways, 10/10 vid, it let me appreciate more about these cards and gave me an excuse to think about them again. Also, since I didn’t realize the cards were already translated, I'm definitely gonna need to check that out. Ena’s descriptions were so evocative that brute force reading the JP was probably for the best, but it's so useful to have on top of your excellent analysis!
Thank you for all of your analysis!!! I watched your videos about your character analysis and because of that I can understand them even further, and with that, I'm grateful for your hard work in making these videos.
EEEEE THANKS FOR SHOWCASING ME IN YOUR VIDEO! Love your analysis of the cards, honestly one of my new fav cards after the hermit set and pale color ena. and I want you to know i appreciate these videos. Yes I'm aware prosekai analysis exists elsewehre too but on yt this is the few places I found actuall well made analysis and I love video format too because I can play it in the bg and listen to it while i work. So thanks for making these!
I really like your videos. I quite enjoy the character analysis videos and project sekai is full of characters that deserve a good analysis. Thanks for uploading this kind of content.
THIS IS SOO GOOD!!!! the usual fructose slay! but seriously this is really amazing and i love the analysis here especially! i think the way you covered it is phenomenal and i will be looking forward to seeing more of these in the future! (ALSO I GOT TO SEE THE WIP EARLIER 😈)
Thank you for the analysis, your videos are always so informative and interesting! Ena and Mizuki hit very close to home, hearing others go through similar experiences as me is a comforting feelings. It’s hard to become close to people when you constantly have a fear of being mocked, but it’s something you need to overcome in order to live your life to the fullest. It’s something i think Mizuki understands but is scared of, they still are scared of what people will think. On the other hand, Ena is seemingly getting better, and i’m glad. I hope Enas father understands her or at least tries to understand one day.
Mizuki’s ideal world and their growth of being able to leave it is so interesting… I noticed the Sakura tree in their fragment sekai was wrapped and bound with colorful ribbons. Yes it’s beautiful but it does ultimately end up suffocating the tree, just as the world Mizuki imagines for themself ultimately holds them back.
i have a funny story about me getting my ena card So, i got jp colorful stage on my phone (never had it before) and reaped the amazing rewards. Because i’ve played before, i quickly unlocked master on some songs, and full comboed some as well. I then did a single pull, and got ena. i did. another, AND GOT ENA AGAIN. I FEEL AS IF I HAVE THE ENA CURSE…not complaining tho-
Also, probably somewhat related to the mirror analysis(?) during the Ribbon event in the flashbacks with middle school Mizuki, you can see in their room that the mirror is covered up unlike in the present where it isn’t anymore. Good video as always Fru!

Mizuki definitely had been through a lot and these two cards made me realise that the stories do impact the fragment sekais!
I agree, i think ena wouldve destroyed the paintings further if she were taken there earlier in her arc
Can’t wait to watch this! Ngl every time I see the Ena evolved card all I think is the my friends fangirling over how she has the boyfriend look
Shellooks so gender im dying
I aspire to be like her one day
REAL SHES SO HANDSOME
SHE LOOKS LIKE LEN PFFFFF
I LOVE HER SM AJSJSKAKAKSB 😭
mizuena is just a ship for me to gay panic over, i love them both

hello fellow mizuki kin. we shall rule the world together
@@childeofepickness Yes, Mizuki Akiyama will take over the world. (even though in my bio its mafuyu instead of mizuki but we don't look at that rn)
I audibly gasped when i heard my username on the video SDHJSJKAHS thanks a lot for mentioning my comment! It means a lot to me
Your observations are so brilliant as always, thank you for them!!
Sekais truly are free therapy for the characters, I see

Why does Mizuki hide their neck in some outfits? 🤔 It’s something I’ve always wondered…
