Gibson J-35 Review from Acoustic Guitar

As a flatpicker myself, Scott's playing convinced me that I ought to get a J-35. I'd been looking for a guitar with a different sound for a while; something unlike the Martins I've played for many years. I bought a secondhand J-35 recently (made in 2017), and it's a truly amazing guitar. It has the distinctive tone I wanted, quite unlike any other flat top I've played. There are some beautiful sounds around the middle regions of the fretboard, with plenty of punch and volume as well. Thanks for the review!

AGM - I'd love to spend more time with these reviews...but surely you all can get the production quality to a higher quality. Even at 720p on this one, it's fuzzy and the sound is lacking. Love the mag, read the articles and reviews, but these vids truly need some attention.

Teja you surprised me you actually played this in standard tuning......not that I don't appreciate other tunings its just that for the ears. It sounds brighter that a Gibson J45. Its seems that its X bracing angle is more obtuse or larger than in the J45 as it sound less focus on the midrange. Choice is always a good things, a clone with just a different name is still no choice. Thanks!

Strange as it seem the B string doesn’t sit strait on the bridge... but love the sound..

I played these Gibson J-35 when they came out. I didn’t like the brightness. All the J-15 got better reviews. I bought a 2014 J-15 first years. I upgraded the frets with jumbo stainless steel frets and installed Kluson locking tuners bone nut and bridge
