Well which is best I hear you ask, well I think its fairly obvious which one I prefer, Its time for the Sunday Hoonigan to test them out!!
Bit random this one but hey its the middle of winter!

Maybe you could make a video where you just talk of yourself and how great your bike is!
CR500 all day! Sweet rides with some work done to them.
The 701 is my dream bike. Actually, the fe501 is my dream bike but the service intervals on the 701 are just too amazing. I will get a DRZ first though simply because it's half as expensive.
This was my 1st introduction to Lamb chop.. watched him eversince. I m same size so grate to have someone my size and real world reviewing
Thanks Benny 👍
@@LambChopRides not a problem keep it going. Where do you get your clothing i struggle with being big most stuff stops at 50 ish size.
CR500, aka "THE WIDOWMAKER". I remember when I was 15 years old riding around on my 50cc dirt bike moped in Sweden and my friend got a CR500, was the first +250cc bike I rode at the time. Damn I thought it was insane, it scared the hell out of me, even 250cc 2stroke enduro/motocross bikes did but the CR500 was just insaane.
I remember I had to hold on for dear life and thought I was going to fly off the bike
*Well I own a few of the bikes you mention here but the 690 pretty much does it all* 👌
CR 500, not a doubt, Always 2 strokes
my 701 was stolen so I bought a 501, Best thing to have happened to me... went from 341lbs, 67hp, and 11in clearance to 241lbs, 65hp and 13in clearance.... nuff said
+djj986744 I do need to try one of these... sounds incredible!
Oh maaaan, I so love the engine sound of Husquavana motorbikes! Wish I could ride one. There is a 701 on sale in a bike shop near me as well.
Matt Bewers go and buy it mate , don't wait!
"The 2 stroke is heavy as hell" and the throttle response is "hell" this man has no clue what he's talking about, completely bias
Reese Nelson cant believe he said it was hard to wheelie just wind it on , the cr 500 is probably one off if not the easiest bikes to wheelie ive ever riden
if youve ridden one compared to a 701 youll start to know where 20 years of Engineering have brought us
The CR500 doesn't sound very good. Either something is wrong with it or it's geared way to high. Mine would wheelie in 5th on throttle only.
SHORT GEARING TOP SPEED IS 85 TALL GEARING TOP SPEED IS 120 SO YEAH THERE IS A BIG RANGE HERE....LOL ON A LONG SUPERMOTO TRACK YOU WANT 120 MPH ON A SHORT COURSE YOU WANT 85 MPH GEARING.....HAVE SEEN WELL POWERED CR 500 SMOKE 600 CC SPORTBIKES ON TRACK DAYS ........
Another quality instalment thankyou
KTM 690! 👍🏼 🤠
So basically he hates every bike but his
First place 701
Second place 690
Third place 500
Thats just my opinion ! 😎
Want them all!!
Great vid Mr chops - probably a little unfair comparing a band new purpose built £8K supermoto with a ~£3.5K 16 year old MX bike still wearing standard size MX wheesl (with some token tarmac rubber) and the standard front master cylinder/caliper. How about we take the bikes to Brands Indy to see if you can keep up with me ;) ? I will upgrade the brakes but leave the standard mx wheels and probably even put the knobbly Karoo 3's back on. Then the following day lets take the bikes for some green laning off road action and see how far the 701 gets before its stuck and needs an emergency evac ;) Then a few weeks later lets go back to Brands Indy but this time I'll put some supermoto wheels on with decent sticky rubber with the target of lapping you in one session ;) !lol Could make a great series of vids - 701 vs CR500 :D
+dwhxyz haha yes good points indeed, defo up for the brands Hatch challenge not sure about the off road bit! No I was unfair completely agree, as I said spoilt by having a new bike with great controls and the latest kit onboard.
I wanted the 701 but it was impossible to find anywhere near me so I bought a 690. I really do like it though. It’s been great fun being able to get off road again which is the reason I picked it up. I love the KX250 I had as a kid. Can’t imagine riding it on the road though
Husqvarna 701 Enduro
husqvarna 701. end
of course i have one my self 😊 nice videos keep up the good work :)
+Jiar MawloD thanks Jiar 👍
still have the cr500 i love two strokes that one seemed like it wants a rebuild
The old CCM 604 kicks the bag out of them all
My choice: 701
Great videos....can you kindly do a hypemotard and smc r comparison?....
“My bikes better than your bike” video 🤣🤣. Imagine the shock of the copper that nabs you when he realises your not young pups 🤣🤣 looks like great fun.
Haha actually that's happened a couple of times! Can see them do a double take 😆
Ping King for the win
enjoyed your video guys...ive had a 2016 690 from new, its been really good to me but i like the Husky colour scheme more, so iv just ordered the 2021 Husky... Are you running the stock gearing with the power commander?
the cr 500 for sure.
CR500s are the goat
What is the song that opens this video, please?
Looking to purchase the 701...fancy adding another one to the pack as I'm also in Hamshire?
+Adam J yes sure Adam up for a blip out together if your local 😀
wish 500exe/husq 501 have similar maintenance as 690/901 because 500cc is all I need and save 50 lbs
jack schitt 500cc is booboo on the street. I have a 560 and i wish it was faster
would having 6th speed help?
I can't believe that. The one thing stopping me buying a 701 is that they don't turn in like the 690 and Kylie picked up on that. 👍.
Dont listen to her doesnt know what shes talking about that one, get one :-)
see I'm not the only one to think the 701 is a piece of shit in the corners. Plus it's more expensive and doesn't come with a rev counter or gear indicator, overpriced excrement I say
tritriplekylie and gays ride them!.......apart from Womble of course 😬
+tritriplekylie lol shh you, getting cranky in your old age. Need to try yours again on some tighter stuff as I didn't notice it..
+ninjanelly350 how very dare you!! Womble's the gayest out of all of us haha
We cannot get the 690 super Moto in the U.S. So it is either convert the 690 enduro or go with the Husky.
It is keeping me up at night.
Henry Alvarez 690 and husky are the same bike mate...different clothes
MrPanangelo yes I know but the clothes on the KTM look so much more appealing in my opinion that I would consider converting the Enduro to a super Moto since this is the enduro is available in the US
Husqvarna 701 enduro is best
i like that one of you guys rides with a neckbrace :)
been wearing mine for 2 years now on the road
Cr 500 doesn't really wheelie must have the gearing changed or knackered .used one for a while it would try throw you off the back in 3rd at walking pace in fact the only time it didn't try to throw you off the back was when the rear wheel tried to over take the front and it wasn't uncommon for it to try both at the same time
I prefer my 2009 690 SMC with 654ccm stock.
Got a 104mm Zylinder with Wössner forge piston and a 85mm Crankshaft.
So it´s a "722 SMC" now ;)
80.2HP
78 NM
mopar coronet cos it's yours lol
What made the smc so much comfier? Is it just the shape of the seat or did he have an aftermarket seat? I'm considering a 690/701 for my next bike in a year but I want it be comfortable enough to ride to Germany
+Ryanpetrolhead the 690 was just the stock seat but it's twice as thick as the 701 unfortunately. I've now got a aftermarket seat concepts seat on my 701 which resolves the problem. The stock is fine for a couple of hours but after that does start to hurt tbh
Lamb Chop Rides Ah okay thanks. I'm wanting to stick with Husky and get the 701 but it'll depend on what I can afford at the time. Looks like you live in perfect supermoto territory too :D
+Ryanpetrolhead yes I do its perfect around here tbh which is why the bike makes such sense for me. Plus it's a hoot 😀 get the 701 over the 690 imo even if the seat isn't as comfy and doesn't have rev counter. Has way better steering lock, it's better put together (bodywork) led indicators stock and looks better 😀
+Ryanpetrolhead yes both are great and would have bought the 690 in a heartbeat if 701 hadn't come out! They both seem to really hold their money too which is nice... well if you already have one hehe
Lamb Chop Rides Yeah if I can afford new I'll definitely buy the Husky, if not it maybe be an older 690 or husky 610. Not alot of choice wanting a supermoto and to tour 😅
The cr500 I had used to wheelie the 1st 4 years just on throttle effortlessly and it was geared longer for road use
Cr 500 all the way!
Hi! do u recommand a power commander using an aftermarket exhaust slip on? (only the exhaust) and would it be a good upgrade even using the stock exhaust? Is it ok to charge a preset map or do u recommand to make a custom one by a specialised workshop? ty
Lamb chops do u use the rear brake when u wheelie? Getting very good👍
+gixxerollie yes always cover it but with the engine braking very rarely need it. For emergencies only 😀
Have you encountered any false neutrals on the 701? Did you find any ways to avoid them. Cheers
Yes its a bit annoying at first but get better and you learn to ride the bike without hitting them. I only very occasionally hit them now
I have the 701E 2017 and I have not issues with that
Denham Wright yes buy a factory pro shift. Have it also in my 690. Search for it. Ktmtwins also sells them
They upgraded it with a ceramic ball bearing instead of bushes. Only need to take your clutch cover of.
I'd love to try the CR500 but as an all rounder probably KTM SMC 690:)
+Two Wheel Review yes CR is the daddy and I would love one in my garage for hoonage. But 701 / 690 for super fun hassle free riding. Can't beat those 6k service intervals and riding all morning for a fiver 😀
KTM anyday
Cr 500 all day👍kx 500 would be better 🤣🤣🤣
690 but i'm completely biased as i own one, tbh would be happy with anyone of them
+oz3601 both allmost as good as each other 😀
I had the choice in store, and the tachometer on the 690 sealed the deal
Snowflakes and 2 strokes don't mix.
Jack Petracci true 😂
Cr500 all day long love 2 strokes lol
+rx rally tuareg 125 yes certainly something special about them 👍
nice gang :)
CR500, because its a CR500! It's time was 20 years ago though. Things move on. When you put the CR on the road you have to lengthen the gearing, which kills the performance. Its just great that you can still buy bikes like the 701 and use them every day without an engine rebuild
Great video. I miss my Tuono 1100. I would say my Daytona 675R is more comfortable on the legs though!
How does the 2014 ktm 690 smc-r compare to the newer 701's?
The new ones are way better. Counter balanced engine cuts the vibrations in half, and the engines make substantially more power.
@@carsons3584 I see.
@@megapet777 they also fixed the rocker arm issue the 690 cc where known for
where you riding looks like the Cotswolds? awesome vids by the way ✌
No its down south, on the South downs area. Thanks for the Sub matey
Lamb Chop Rides
No worries, reminds me of riding back home, roads out here are straight!!!!
Yeah plenty of corners here at least :-) just a shame they are always wet! haha
Lamb Chop Rides
Yeah can't say I miss that
Wheelietastic!!
+ewanoffshore haha thanks 👍👍
I'll stick with my 525 exc supermoto :D these are heavy so therefore slower... Dunno why would pick them over a 450 SMR or 500 exc
Just bought a 6 days 500 exc to supermoto. Any tips on front disk / caliper?
Lamb Chop Rides mine was already set up when I bought it. Has the smr set up with beringer caliper and the front brake is crazy. Depends how much money you have spare if you want a really good braking system go with the beringer caliper but if not sure something cheaper would be fine
Motomaster racing kit with 320 disk.. i wish it would fit on my Husaberg 650, but they only added it for the 570 and later models :/
These bikes are better for commuting or riding long distances and dont need as much service
Well the service times are ALOT better on the 701/690, they are alot more stable on high speed, good for commuting. Also, the 30 (?) extra kilos are well made up for with 20 extra hp
You where VERY lucky finding that go pro :p
Great vids! The struggle is real.
cr500 that's why I own 4 😁
+719moto mx greedy man, can you not loose one in my direction? 😉
Lamb Chop Rides lol yea i would sell you one 😄 i am in colorado
Cr500 why even ask its one of the most iconic driit bikes ever imo
+LazyApe_ yep agree but does it make the best road sm? Must say sounds amazing though and would love one as a second.. well third bike!
hell no i would have it like people have any old bike for weekends and things like that. I wouldnt have it as my only bike probably would have to stop at every other petrol station
+LazyApe_ haha yeah Sunday morning bike I agree 👍
No music video needed!
I'll prefer husky 701
Would love a video which outlined differences between LC4, SMRC, 701 and the hypermotard
LC4 and the 701 are the same engine. The SMCR is the 690, aka the LC4. So the only thing you need to know is the difference between the LC4 and the Vtwin in the Hypermotard.
what action camera did you use at the beginning of the video? Thanks
The drone footage? If so its the DJI Phantom 3 standard
No, i mean the camera you use when you drive the ktm
Lamb Chop Rides comment his ask pls, I would like to know too
Have you got a power commander on your bike at all?
That husky is my dream bike
Jack White mine too but now I have it but its the Enduro one got this summer
I think I'd be going with the 701, there isn't a bike in the Husky line up that doesn't appeal to me.
+InoxEdge yep couldn't agree more 😀
How is it u can getaway with pulling wheeles on the rd ? Isn't that a ban or jail in the UK?
+Simon Templecombe shhh don't tell anyone! 🙈
Song?
God that winter scene.... England looks really cool but I can do without all the rain and cold y'all get.
Yeah weather does suck in the UK for biking, bloody shite, roll on the spring!!
701.
If I had the choice think it would have to be the 701, looks the part but yet to ride one!
+ft rider yes for me it's the better bike but they are very close tbh. Both brilliant 😀
What action camera you use at the beginning when you drive the husqvarna?
+Iva00N it's a gopro hero 4 Silver 👍
690SMC!
Why do you turn with your leg/foot pointing forward and down?
alot of supper motocross racers do it when you come into a corner your coming into to almost pinned in the gear you were in then you are trying to do the the sharpest 180 with a little bit of bars and a whole lot of throttle and weight distribution along with you are leaning pretty far over now to the part with the foot i would do it cause alot of the times i would be leaning into it and i would be in a deep rut in the corners so you get into a habit of placing you heel down just barely or i would cause your down in a corner rut and the ground is closer along with the added extra balance if you were to need it but on the street its stupid a really bad habit from the dirt that should not and does not belong on pavement alot of guys do it good way to brake a ankle or a leg or twist a knee just a bad habit you dont see moto gp guys planting a heel you wanna corner and stick shit out do it right drag a knee
Putting the leg out is the same as dragging a knee. You're moving the center of gravity over.
zshaw369 you don't see motogp guys riding sumos. leg out is absolutely the fast way to ride one.
Such bullsh*t red-winery I've never seen before.. This is what separates super-moto and adventure riders
why put a foot down for a slight bend in the road? you boys need to go learn to ride on a track
Stephen Bogert
I LOL’d at that. Just made him look like a total noob... this review is a 3/10 effort
D.B. Why don’t you upload a better one then hm?
vale Rossi in the house !!!
Was the Ktm 690 seat stock or aftermarket ??
+shithead4606 yeah just the stock one not the power parts or anything
I prefer 690.. but 690 and 701 are similar bike
Stay on your own bike mate
Hi there , what head set mics do you guys use ?
+DEEPERBLUE we have Sena 20s matey, very good
Lamb Chop Rides that's great thanks for your reply mate keep up the good vids 👍
Them bikes look fun :)
690 :)
lmao goodbye go pro. Power Commander eh? im coming down for wheelie school as soon as you lot bring the 701's back out
Yes they are available now at DynoJet UK, and bonus for you my map is with the Wings exhaust!! Yes defo pop down one Sunday buddy when the Spring arrives for some wheelie antics :-)
I'd prefer the husaberg fs570
which year is the 701?
+dark zedd it's a 2016 zedd
The opening was theatric. Thanks for the comparison.
Ktm 690 them orange anodized wheels look the part nice touch
Omg this english is so hard to Unterstand wtf xD (Im from Germany😅)
i didnt realize they were speaking english for like 2 minutes and im from the US lol
Jesus, the luck of finding the camera and the case
Cool vid, man
+Jamie Cox thanks Jamie 👍
oil pressure drop that fast @3:36? that wasn't a "very" long wheelie :S
Yeah think its doesnt read very well when wheeling, mines done it a couple of times but doesnt happen very often
Thats the best thing about a 2 stroke
wazim buhora oh the smell 🙂
Which one would I prefer...
I say a CBR FIREBLADE!!! >.o
+Tanker Review haha trust you 😂😂
KTM and Husqvarna
Got a old fmx650 and even though mild compared to these on s21 Bridgestones and running arrow pipes it's a right laugh to dick about on.
+David C sounds great David! It's all about the fun had 👍
Cr 500
I own a 701, it's really hard to do long wheelies with it...you need a lot of practice
I hopped on my old mans 690 and wheelied it for like 1km down the highway, they have honestly got to be one of the easiest to wheelie bikes on the market.
The Hektik Bogan the 690 is the KTM, I guess it's very similar. The husky has a long chassis, i thought it'd be easier to wheelie on a real dirt bike, like a 450cc, but I'm not an expert
husky 701!!!
+BIKES BLADES/GUN'S good choice 🤘🤘
