This is the best sport, based on the individual, in the world. But if a champion does not want to fight a "Young and dangerous" fighter, then he is devaluing the meaning of the belt and the integrity of being the best in the world.
Imagine being interim champ, and having the actual champ ducking you every chance they can get. Jones has Dana White in his grasp so much that he can call the shots on who he wants to fight, versus the guy who actually deserves the fight. This to me shows just how much jones is scared to challenge his legacy. He’s scared, and anybody who wants to defend him, only wants to defend his legacy.
His argument is he has done it so many times already and fighting a guy that is up and coming without any accolades isnt worth it for him cuz he has much more to lose than to win, as where if he fought pereira who’s already a champion and proven himself already it would be worth the risk
@@aceboogie5444 being an interim champ shouldn’t matter. He’s proved himself in his weight class, so who else is there to fight other than the actual champ ?

@the_Rade he "holds the belt" because he beat Gane to win it. This "interim while there is a champion bs" is a fairly recent hustle Dana uses to hype PPV numbers. He's not paying these "interim" fighters championship money. Hell, Asp was offered 200k as a replacement fighter. IF you cared, you should be calling this out
He wants Alex, someone who Izzy out of all people could take down lmao. He knows the easy secret recipe for Alex, with Aspinall there’s a lot more question marks for him and he said it himself, he doesn’t want to gamble his legacy. With Alex it’s a much much safer bet
The legacy he’s losing respect for is full of PEDs, eye gouges, and fighting easy opponents to protect his record and career. And we not even talking about his crimes out of the ring, this guy NEEDS this “legacy” that’s probably the only thing keeping him from losing his own mind, would explain how crazy he seems to be at home

Jon Jones improves his legacy more than the next 10 fights Aspinall has. Stop it. Focus on the importance of the man he faces rather than your own personal feelings. FYI personal insults aren’t needed. Just stand on your point. Your point is that he doesn’t need Jon Jones and that’s fine to believe that.
Everyone who’s criticizing Jon jones for beating an older Stipe, while simultaneously refusing to acknowledge the fact that Jon himself is 37 years old, has almost 20 years of fighting experience, just recently sustained a severe pectoral tear and has been inactive, are tacitly admitting that Jon should be held to a higher standard above everyone else.
@ where did I say people are denying that fact? I said they are refusing to acknowledge it, particularly in discussions involving his win over Stipe and a potential fight against Tom Aspinall. He’s old, he’s been fighting forever, and recently sustained a terrible injury. Given all of this context his performance this past weekend was nothing short of amazing and he doesn’t owe Tom Aspinall a title fight. Vacating the title and letting the younger bulls fight for it is more than fair…
@@lazmaroulis6686 then vacate, go fight oldheads for “legacy”. Nobody would have a problem with his cherry picking easy fights if he wasn’t holding up the HW title picture
Jiri Prochazka vacated the belt after an injury. Jamahal Hill vacated the belt after an injury. Guess who is the only person right now who forced everyone to wait a year and a half just for his subpar return against a 41 year old guy who retired right after the fight? That's right Jon Jones. Jones has ALWAYS been an inactive fighter. Always fighting once a year.
He don’t need to fight anyone else. Since he won the belt, he has been fighting the best fighters in the UFC. Tom doesn’t make or break his career/legacy. I mean I still want to see that fight too and then he could retire😂 but the guy is the GOAT.
Ducked Francis, prime stipe, and Tom, lost to Reyes, cherry picked fights against fat old middleweights. Cheated on juice his whole career. Dude will never be even close to the goat convo lol.
I actually think it does make or break his legacy to some extent. He'll be remembered as the guy who ducked a dangerous up and comer when he could've cemented his legacy by beating him. This adds an asterisk to his GOAT status, IMO.
For all you casuals, Jon is in negotiation mode now that his fight is over with Stipe. He is not going to give up his 4 ace hand by telling everyone I am going to fight who ever the UFC puts in front of me. That stack of cash to put that fight together goes so much higher.
Then vacate the heavyweight belt, and then fight whoever you want. He has held up the heavyweight division for too long, with his inconsistency. He is quite literally, the heavyweight champion, and he is ACTIVELY avoiding the number 1 ranked contender in Tom Aspinall. What do you not understand? Everyone is up in arms over Jon because he HAS the belt. Once he stops holding up the entire division, everyone will stop talking about his avoiding and will look forward to whoever else he fights. The money, quite literally, does NOT matter in this scenario. The champion and the interim champion need to be unified in the next fight. If not, Jon needs to just hang up the heavyweight belt. As Islam Makhachev said, " 'What does this title represent? It means you're the best in the world and if you're the best in the world, it doesn't matter who's going to be standing across from you. What do I say? No? NEVER. Let's do this!' "

He deserves what he wants. He deserves the big money fight. He is the greatest of all time in fighting, he should be well compensated like other sports.
First 15min: 1-overhyping old retired Stipe like he was terminator to make this win look somehow relevant; 2-blatantly ducking Aspinall and any actual opposition; 3-cherry picking an easy fight VS a guy with zero wrestling that used to fight two divisions down; Also lots of religious BS thrown in between… 🤡🦆
1. It’s not religious bullshit, it’s who he thanks for his ability to overcome and succeed. 2. Yes he’s ducking Aspinall, but who cares? He’d probably beat Aspinall. Plus are you trying to somehow say that Aspinall is better than Jon Jones? Listen to yourself. 3. Yes Alex used to fight 2 divisions down, but he’s actually heavier than Jon Jones is, and Jon also used to fight a division down. Nobody knows how Alex ever made middleweight, it’s a mystery to all of us, but anytime he ever made 185 he always got back up to 220 the night of the fight. So when he fought Izzy he was 220 both times. That’s heavyweight. In a middleweight fight. Plus he almost killed himself on those weight cuts, but he’s just naturally gifted when it comes to making weight. 4. Alex Pereira is no joke, just because he doesn’t have great wrestling doesn’t mean he’s not a great challenge for Jon Jones. I could see Alex sparking Jon Jones, look at his track record. It’s knockout after knockout after knockout with multiple championships won and defended. He’s cleared out 2 divisions, just like Jon has. He’s also the best kickboxer on the planet and every fight starts on the feet. Jon will have to strike with Pereira, atleast a little so he can setup a takedown. During that time Alex is going to be piecing his ass, and Jon may never find the takedown. Why didn’t he do it on Reyes when he was getting pieced? Reyes doesn’t have great wrestling either. Why didn’t he do it to Gustaffson when he was getting pieced? Gustaffson doesn’t have great wrestling either. It’s all because Jon Jones doesn’t have great defensive wrestling, only offensive. You’ll notice whenever Jon’s in trouble, unlike most guys, he doesn’t shoot. He moves out, circles back in and keeps it on the feet. It’s only when he has momentum on the feet when he takes down his opponents. How is he going to get that momentum against the best kickboxer on planet earth in Alex Pereira? 5. You’re trying to disregard Jon Jones greatness, but everybody knows who the greatest of all time is, and it’s him. It’s definitely Tom Aspinall, someone who’s never ever won an undisputed championship, and Jon has won like nearly 20. 6. Jon Jones has only lost once in his entire career and it was due to the fact that he beat someone’s ass so damn bad they had to disqualify him. He’s got the longest active win streak, longest win streak in UFC history, most championships won, most championships defended. --------- And you have the nerve to say he’s ducking Aspinall 🤣🤣 gtfo casual

Jones only 2 moves are to retire now, or fight Alex Pereira. Aspinall is a step backwards, that's not the path to take because beating him would just be another notch on the belt. Honestly, would love to see him retire on this high, he's got nothing to prove because his legacy is set.... But damn, that would be an interesting fight if Alex can defend the takedowns... Beating Pereira would elevate Jones status and legacy even more 🔥
GOAT! I think he dropped Vitor with that same kick but it was the liver. It's crazy that the greatest of all time never got his super fight. Conor got Floyd. DC was going to get Brock after not even doing a 1/4 of what Jon did, Volk got Islam twice, Bisping got GSP and even Max got Gaethje. The last one might not be on that level but close enough. The person that deserves it the most, people have a problem with. This fan base is so weird. Bisping saying Jon has to fight Tom is really hypocritical, if you know how the end of his career played out.
He’s not the monster people paint him to be, just a man with demons who happens to be the greatest fighter of all time but calling him an “amazing human being” is a stretch I’d say lol
Jon has an aura man, I'm not a religious man but I feel alot of what he says, he is truly a special human being. When he talked about his mom I got teary eyed, then when he goes through the most important moments in his fighting career and then lists why each was important. I hope to just shake his hand someday.

Tom is the only one benefiting from the fight Jones has nothing to gain from it. He already accomplished everything he needed to. Beating Jones now is like Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson
"I'm doing it my way" translation: - PED - Eye pokes - Avoiding true contenders - Pick fight he knows he can win That's right Jon, you sure have done it your way...
There's the problem with paying fighters too much. They then get the upper hand and can pick and choose who they wanna fight, when they wanna fight, and how much they wanna make.
This man is so humble. I'm admittedly a new UFC fan. Really impressed by a man who is so dominant yet able to maintain his humility and gratefulness. Great stuff.
You got a lot to figure out bill, he's the goat but he is also a total scumbag. People who put up such different personas from who they really are, are called sociopaths, and narcissists.
These Jon Jones haters are insufferable. They are mad he won and dominated his era and won the belt in this era. He is the GOAT and a legend. He's 37 years old, his youth is gone. Why would someone who is accomplished and is a legend fight a new upcomer who has not even defended his belt multiple times yet or gotten as many accolades? A lot of y'all are "truly" showing what this is all about. It's not like the guy joined a group that was created to hate people because of who they were born as. Congrats Jon Jones, you are the GOAT and they know it too, that's why they are so upset 😂.
He has failed multiple steroid tests so that right there he can never be the goat....clearly he felt he could not beat dc clean and needed help so he took some roids...and i dnt believe i only took roids to heal from a injury as a excuse....if he never fails any roid tests he would be the goat hands down
Because there can only be one champion and Aspinall (if you take his belt away which is completely foolish) can be viewed as the #1 contender. He's getting the hate he's getting for his godawful narcissistic and arrogant personality, his scumbag behavior in and outside of the ring and for the preferential treatment he's been getting from the UFC management. This is a guy who tested positive for PEDs, who's a woman-beater, who got disqualified for illegal blows, who repeatedly uses that scumbag knee kick, who had judge's graces in multiple close bouts. He deserves nothing.

Who tf is denying Jon is 37? Lmao
@ where did I say people are denying that fact? I said they are refusing to acknowledge it, particularly in discussions involving his win over Stipe and a potential fight against Tom Aspinall. He’s old, he’s been fighting forever, and recently sustained a terrible injury. 💯

First 15min:
1-overhyping old retired Stipe like he was terminator to make this win look somehow relevant;
2-blatantly ducking Aspinall and any actual opposition;
3-cherry picking an easy fight VS a guy with zero wrestling that used to fight two divisions down;
Also lots of religious BS thrown in between…
🤡🦆

Jon Jones wants to fight final bosses. He’s the Highlander of the UFC. Tom is not a GOAT. He’s great. But Jon only wants to fight other Goats. Let’s enjoy this era while we can guys. The GOAT MOUNTAIN ERA.
You don't understand that he has the belt. He can fight anyone who he wished to but NOT FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP. Aspinall wants the belt, he gives no fuck about Jones. You either fight the interim champion or you vacate.
@@fJ3K01Sp I said what I said.
@@beatsfromsoda very well, not sure if you understood. No one says JBJ isn't a great fighter, the point is that he has the belt and he had to defend it. If he wants to go for super fights with a division lower opponent then vacate the belt.
I agree that Jones should either fight Tom or vacate the belt. But Aspinal can't go 2 seconds without talking about Jones which is getting old and annoying at this point. Tom is the only one benefiting from the fight Jones has nothing to gain from it. He already accomplished everything he needed to. Beating Jones now is like Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson
"I'm doing it my way" translation:
- PED
- Eye pokes
- Avoiding true contenders
- Pick fight he knows he can win
That's right Jon, you sure have done it your way...
Jon Jones is 🐐
It's undeniable.
Aspinall real heavyweight champion
Ok buddy, if you say so, then that must be the truth. Now go to sleep.
There's the problem with paying fighters too much. They then get the upper hand and can pick and choose who they wanna fight, when they wanna fight, and how much they wanna make.
Congratulations to Jon Jones
I really thought Jon was trolling about not fighting Tom. but after the fight. It feels like he doesn’t want to fight Tom.
This man is so humble. I'm admittedly a new UFC fan. Really impressed by a man who is so dominant yet able to maintain his humility and gratefulness. Great stuff.
@billpowers6802 it's a nice facade
You got a lot to figure out bill, he's the goat but he is also a total scumbag. People who put up such different personas from who they really are, are called sociopaths, and narcissists.
I hope Stingy Dana doesn't make a deal with Jones and he leaves the UFC and signs with PFL so that *Jones vs Ngannou* can happen.
i'm hoping for that
Zero chance JJ is fighting Ngannou. He won't fight Tom, either.
Jones waited 3 years for Ngannou to leave before feeling like it was safe to come to HW, no way that happens
🐐🐐🐐of all combat sports ever
Nonsense. A cherry picking fraud
All due respect but aspinall would wipe the floor with him.
jon wants to fight ken shamrock next as it will be good for his legacy, way to go jon
Is the wife he’s talking about the same one he beat bloody?
My man wanted to disrespect Daniel Cormier by finishing the opponent who finished him by body shots. The ultimate troll
FACTS, THIS COMMENT IS NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH
The PED goat
Haters going to hate 🤷♂️. They’re great at nothing so they complain about others who are.
Let’s Face It..Jon Bones Jones Is The, Floyd Mayweather Of MMA!!! The Envy Is Real🤦🏽♂️ Most Want To Hate Him Because He’s Winning, And A LOT Want To Pay To Him Lose!!!! And Time After Time, They Both Kept And In Jones’ Case, Keep Winning!!! Let The Be The Great That He Is!!! IF He Ever Were To Lose, And Not That BS Loss He Has, He’d STILL Be The Best Ever!!! He Moved Up MULTIPLE Weight Classes And He’s Still Doing The Same That He Did In The Lighter Weight Classes 🤷🏽♂️
Duck or no duck?
No duck. He wants to fight poatan who wont be weigh drained. Literally just as dangerous as tom if not more
