This game was super cutting edge when it came out. I loved it. You just don't understand wiiviwr. You just don't understand.
(For those on mobile) about the lack of gunshot noise, it actually comes out of the wiimote speaker
"In Chinatown if you end up stiff it's not from too much starch!"
In Mad Dog McCree, if your scalp is bleeding, it's from too much confusion from dialogue (and bad carpentry)
I loved the original Mad Dog game in the arcade! It used to be $1 for one set of lives and I used to run through it without dying. I'm totally buying this!
this game is somewhat underrated
Coming back to this video after 14 years these reviews were a staple of my childhood
The NPC's look so lifelike!
I had no idea they released the 'Mad Dog McCree' games for the Wii. Since the Wii is capable of DVD video quality, i'm guessing that 'Dragon's Lair', and 'Space Ace' will eventually show up in a Wii compilation soon.
Game has been released on the PS3 and the 3DS recently
The Mounty Presents 3DS? I'll take it. Wait, how is that version controlled? The Touch Screen?
This game was a mainstay of my childhood in the arcades.. Was it worth my 2.50 second hand today? FUCK YEAH!
I, surprisingly, like this game. It's not perfect, but it's a nice change of pace to bring new life to a old game.
worst acting:
5:58 - how is he talking when he's dead?
7:44 - how in the world did he go flying?
8:03 - picks his head up and shakes it after falling off a roof. WTF
u probable wont see this but i am a big fan it is great you do your vids with your kids you don't swear that much and unlike most you tubers you give games a chance and you only say a game is bad by the game it self not just what you have seen now you may not see this but i thank you for giveing me laughs and such keep it up
@tournication: Nintendo's Wild Gunman (as in the videogame) is from 1984.
I bought these games on PS3 and I really like them. They're ridiculus, but lots of fun. And seems the PS3 version is better than Wii, for example there are gunshot and reload sounds.
OnkelBermuda it's on the Wii version too, he said in the annotations that it comes from the Wii remote
does have sounds but it comes out the pad ,, just not the best shots dont hit target ,, not best rail shooter on wii
omg so realistic graphics! never knew the wii was a 10th gen system
I want Dragon's Lair for Wii! And I love Mad Dog McCree, I remember playing it on Sega CD and I still play it sometimes today.
I hope this game come to the Microsoft Kinect. Imagine: you point your finger like a gun, and shout "BANG!" to shoot.
What's he on about the gun sounds come through the speaker on the wiimote
As Mad Dog McCree strolled through the swing doors, an eerie silence decended on the WiiViewer Saloon. The piano stopped tinkling, the card-sharps dropped their poker chips. "Say, you're the crappest game we've seen round these parts for a while," drawled the barman. A shot rang out. McCree fell to the floor. The saloon cheered.
The "homeless shelter" comment lol.
It may look archaic now, but in the arcade it was amazing.
@wiiviewr About your (duly corrected) mistake regarding the gunshot sounds: If you stop to consider it, having the gunshot come from the Wiimote and not the TV makes even less sense than no gunshot sounds at all. In the original arcade game (and the prior ports, I assume) all of the sounds came from the same speakers, gunfire included. Why change that?
(BTW, "Dragon's Lair" is available as a DS download. Could "Mad Dog McCree DS" be far behind? [Let's hope not.])
this is the future of games
Holy shit these grafics are incredible. Look att the character design, looks so real.
Someone's probably told you this already, but you can continue past the guide select in Mad Dog II. Each route lets you continue after every few screens.
Im sure other American Laser Games is going to be on the Wii like Crime Patrol, Crime Patrol 2: Drug Wars, Space Pirates and Who Shot Johnny Rock?
"In Chinatown, if you end up stiff, it's not from too much starch"--it's from the Wiiviewr saying "game" or "games" 62 times in 8-1/4 minutes. (That includes occurrences of "gameplay", "minigame" and "American Laser Games".)
@allisonaxe
I agree with you on me saying "game" too much (I noticed that after I released it).
I'm not really in a hurry. I cut out pauses when I edit the audio, so it's less time people have to watch the video.
The disclaimer wasn't about the violence. It was about the sex references.
He's right about the continue situation actually...it's different from game to game. When you die in Mad Dog II it puts you back to the 'choose your guide' bit, and it is really frustrating.
The gunshot sound comes from the Wii-mote
No. There was no sound from the Wiimote.
You know, they say that in China Town, if you end up stiff, it's not from too much starch.
those were awesome acting skill they displayed, i dont even children could pull it off
True. Actually there was a sound comming from the Wiimote.
@wiiviewr so the only reason you rented this game was to see how it would turn out?
American Laser Games has gone Hollywood and did a 3D re-release for the 3ds e shop. Though as a collector of cheesy fmv games this looks tempting to add to my collection for $8.
I went to a store, and saw this game for the PC. The first thing I thought of was the Wiiviewr.
i recently watched you wild earth african safari and i just bought it yesterday. it was really fun even though i beat it in one sitting. i loved it so thank you a lot for the review. can you review the conduit please and thanks
wow, real actors in video games that never ends well.
and when he sniped the guys into the swamp they were still moving their heads around XD
I thought the acting Phantasmagoria was okay. I liked the sequel to that game as well.
If they do release a FMV game for the Wii. I hope they release "Under a killing moon" or the "Pandora's Directive".
OMG. i love that from 1:29 - 1:39 the guy with the arrows in him is breathing.
@wiiviewr About your prediction (1:09) that Dragon's Lair and Space Ace would come out for the Wii...well, didya hear about "Dragon's Lair Trilogy" coming out last week? Yep--Dragon's Lair I AND II and Space Ace. I'm guessing that title's not going to appear on your rental queue anytime soon...?
I'm part of this mad 10%, as a child i really wanted to play it so maybe now i'll give it a go.
This game is the best first person shooting game ever!!! Unfortunately, they didn't do more games using this technique... Good times!!! Funny games!!!
"In Chinatown if you end up stiff its not from to much startch." kinda creepy
I heard about broken gameplay, in this collection, like reloading?
I don't think this reviewer gets that this games is supposed to be a bit silly and that the actors deliberately play it that way. Anyway, I don't care what quality the acting is, or what the playing quality is like. What makes me enjoy this game is the fact that it has real people in it and it is the closest most of us will get to feeling liike we are involved in a western. It came out around the time that westerns were enjoying a comeback and it is quite nostalgiac for me.
I don't have very high expectations, so I would be satisifed with this, and it was actually a bit funny where it was unrealistic.
Wow, where's PETA when you need them? It looks like they put some of those horses through hell!
In the UK this game is a 12 rating although not for it's violence...
"In one video clip a Native American Indian is seen sitting on a horse. He has a rope around his neck and when the horse trots off the Indian is left dangling by his neck in the air. This scene, which children might be tempted to copy, is best placed at 12. The violence in the game is mild and would have been allowed at PG,"
O_o and arrow in his neck and he still talking....?
Omg this was hilarous somebody give these people an oscar.
Dragon's Lair was released on DSiWare a few weeks ago =o
I totally agree. It sems that playing videogames is no more about having fun, but about if the game gets a 8 or a 9. People play games like if they had to review it.
Yes, but I don't deny that.
Majesco, the new LJN of this era.
@G0nard231 i have to correct my self on this you actually don't get a check point till around the middle part of when your on your guide and the ending its actually worse to get the good ending I think you have to beat it on hard or something like that. and you have to beat all 3 guides and just like i said the good ending is bad
it was a brief trend during the 90's. glad it didn't last very long.
My dad LOVES Western movies! Should I buy the game for him?
The Wii (compilation) versions has good controls and original video color tones…(Since PS3 version of Mad Dog 1 graphics is too dark).
if lilwiiviewer was willing to play ninjabread man and not this, that says a lot
300th comment; I played Mad Dog McCree on the 3DS and it’s the only lightgun game that uses a touch screen to aim, and triggers to shoot outlaws.
I bought the game because of this review years ago, and I enjoyed it. There was this cheesy feeling akin to a "so bad its good" movie.
I don't know, there's some sort of charm to the game in its acting, as it is so bad that it is great (Like Plan 9 or Phantasmagoria). Either way, if I was ever to play this game, it probably be a rental and that I would want a good chuckle for how hammy it is.
Since it appears that a FMV has arrived to the Wii, I wonder if there will be more of these types of games to come?
this might be the first non animated video game.
Just because you don't like it doesn't mean other people
@allisonaxe About WV's overuse of the word "game": One thing about it--you can play the "count the number of times he says 'game' " game (ahem) that he suggested in his Game Party 2 review. (I lost count at about 50 here; I'll have to try again as soon as I figure out what I did with my little hand counter...)
I agree with you completely. This isn't the best shooter, but it's fun and simple to play. Some of the acting isn't all that bad if you look at it.
most realistic graphics of all time!
Majesco has actually made some killer games like HyperSonicXtreme for PS2 (came out like 2002) and it wasn't perfect. But it was fun. Like a cross between F-Zero and WipeOut.
Its like bootleg 3D...It pops out at you.
It's now coming to the 3DS E-Shop :)
I actually like this game.
*prepares for flames*
omg the graphics are so real! better than crysis. or anything ive seen on the ps3 or xbox.
It was released on the 3ds in the eshop for 7.99
Who doesn't love majesco?
2:36, where did the lady go???
I dont think viewer discretion should be advised...its not that bad. And good review for a game i never heard of!
that's because they were real actors.
Why isn't there new wii shooting games made with better acting but on rails like this, it would kick ass
@3:35 "I don't wanna HANG OUT here" hahahahahaaha
2:25
he has got like 50 arrows in him,
OVERKILL
This was was a great game!
2:24 how many arrows can that guy have in him and still be alive geez
this beats ninjabread man anyday.
There is a reason he is called the "Wii" viewr
Ill be honest i wanna play this casue it was one of my favorites as a kid...
I'm gonna buy it. And you know, they NEVER release this game all the time! Its extremely rare! Come on, it was on the 3DO before this!!! We are lucky to get this!!!
Who else saw Game Grumps play this game and was curious?
If anyone's looking for a game in the old west, stay away from this game and go for Red Dead Redemption instead. That game has better acting, better action, better replay value, and it truly shows the spirit of the old west! Trust me, you'll thank me later!
me and my friends play this game at the arcade when we go bowling. but it has other games too
how come that guy has 12 arrows in him and theres one in his neck how is he still alive?!?!
These games were awesome. I had so much fun playing these in the arcade! I get the jist that they suck for the consoles.
I would have to disagree with the statement that this game was awful in the arcade in the 90's as I enjoyed it quite alot and it was pretty popular in the arcade I went to and quite revolutionary.
