No cap I had 23k with no legendaries
My first legendary was miraculously at 14000 trophies. In the other hand the first non-super rare was at 8000 trophies and it was Ruffs.
edit: And the legendary i got was Amber (i don't have an other legendary till this day.)

Another tip for further videos, Do not upgrade them to level 6 above so you will not decrease your chance of getting new legendary brawlers which are replaced by gadget chance same goes for star powers level 9
