It's a pretty good model by the looks of it. Thinking of getting one for my nine-year-old. The props and anchors are a nice touch. I'd ditch that rigging and do something with a bit of cotton... Nice build, mate.
I love the paint job I’ve done to it, although I can’t help but notice that the forward superstructure is facing the wrong direction. It’s meant to curve backwards over then that great model
I built a Titanic a while back for Mum as she likes the ship, it was a Revell 1:700 and I went a step further and added lights with micro LED's. fun build.
Hi Gary just checked this upload out. I found a pre built Revel 1/400 scale RMS Titanic in my local village cake shop that sell curousitys. It was complete with stand, but had lost its masts and prophousing on its portside. I also noticed that the paintwork was in need of repaint. So I got to work on it. I made the masts out of two knights lance's that I had spare from a house hold knights sprew I had spare. I replace the portside prophousing made out of cardboard. As for the prop I had a Luke Skywalkers grapler accesory from his hoth figure and converted it into a prop. After I painting and building.I continued with the rigging of the mast, the marconni wireless riging, the funnels and the lifeboats. I managed to find a white star flag, a british merchant navy flag and american flag from a cataloge my dad used for ordering forces memorialbilier. It turned out not to bad. I made the mistake of putting the whitestar flag of the sterm. But its an easter egg of Raise the Titanic film where Dirk Pitt puts it back on where John Biglow took it off.
Thank you so much for making this video I bought this on amazon and it still hasn't come I thought it might be two small as I haven't bought airfix in 6 years thank you❤❤❤😂😂😂🎉
@@garys_stuff funny 2 years ago you made this and I didn't think you answer my comment cause I thought lose interest after a while but guess it's still active.
@@garys_stuff you know I done and a academy mini craft 1/700 titanic kit and I upgraded it to make it more historically accurate with the correct number of vents period correct historically accurate colors and as a bonus added rust streaks on the anchors
No, I got it from Lidl I think, Christmas before last? It is still available at the Airfix online store - go to this link prf.hn/l/KjapeGn and search for "titanic" and there are versions at 1/1000, 1/700 and 1/400 scale.
some cotton might be 100% more accurate than whatever Hornby were thinking for those mast rope ladders, leaving those giant great chunks of plastic off would improve your kit 500%. Airfix made dozens of half decent 1:600 ships, people would have reported them to the appropriate authority for that sort of laughable detail back then, now everyone pays them to insult their intelligence, I'd send all 4 back to Hornby and suggest precisely where they should stick them with a diagram or give me my money back. Feel free to delete this comment.
I do think that, at this scale at least, it would have been better to leave them off entirely. I made a Heller Gladiator a couple of years back (an old kit) and it showed how to do the rigging wires. Didn't supply them, just said "if you want to do this, we suggest this size thread and do it this way."

Anything Titanic and I’m in! Great build for a starter kit, love these videos, I’m learning and enjoying Thank you.
Airfix do Titanic in 1/700 and 1/400 as well - probably much more detailed as the scale will make many parts better proportioned.

Nice build as usual Gary. Decent looking little kit. I think I will have to make one

Nice touch - something I might look into for airliners in the future...
I love the model! It’s just that the command bridge and down is facing the wrong way.

Thank you! You too!
That is so cute!
Just started building this model.
Don't do what I did - make sure you put the bridge the right way round!!!!!
@@garys_stuff ok I'll make sure to put the bridge the right way round :)
You got the bridge screen on backwards
Yes I did.

great build but u put the ships bridge the wrong way
Thanks for spotting that! Not used to ships…
@@garys_stuff all good we all make mistakes 🍻
Looks good when finished and the surface detail is excellent. It's just what to do with those mast rigging pieces. Dry brush some white?
it's a same from academy titanic 1/1000
I think you are right
It is, just here you need to paint it🤷♂️
All well n' good but you put the bridge facade on the wrong way. Come on mate lol
Yes, I know, what a dummy... Maybe I'll make it again some day!
Thats 1/1000 i am making a 1/400 airfix one after i made the 1/700 one fun
That's a whole lot of Titanic actions going on there!

Indeed I did! Maybe I should get one of the Revell sets this Xmas and do it again...
