    I own a 5907, and have been very happy with my purchase.
    When I bought it, people were shocked i didn’t get a Rolex for that money, as nobody I knew had heard of Breguet.

    I’m about to pick up a 2016 5140 with enamel dial. Hand painting of the dial being one of the attractions.

    Hi Bill. The Chaumet Brothers and Danial Roth really did an excellent job at reviving Breguet. I can't compete with this kind of beauty. But today I am wearing my Tissot Le Locle small seconds. Well, it looks kind of classical. All the best.

      It all comes down to what's available and what's affordable Tuna. Take care, Bill

    Hello Bill, I have three Breguet Classique’s in my collection, all purchased in the gray market. I purchased at 30%-40% discount from the retail price. The watches are all with impeccable quality and they keep excellent time. This brand is one of my favorites from the cold rolled coin edges on the case to the enamel dials. Breguet is amazing all well worth the price. I visited their boutique in Paris twice over the past two years and they were all very gracious and hospitable. I really love the brand, a Breguet will always be in my collection and worn monthly.

    Really like the Classique models myself! Big fan of the Roman numerals on dress watches. Thanks Dr.!

    I have the Brequet Classique 5327BA perpetual Calendar. The caliper is 502.3 DPR1. I had no idea that Daniel Roth took part in the design. Thank you for the information.

    I love the classique models with asymmetric small seconds and power reserve, it reminds me of the old breguet pocket watches

    Just got the 5907 last month
    Immense value for the craftmanship and finishing on the movement
    around 34mm but fits my small wrist perfectly
    I realized those not into watches have barely heard of Breguet 😅
    just like I want it 😄

      My Breguet models of lust are the 3130 and 3330-too many of the others have been 'Swatch-ized" with silicon hairsprings. Take care, Bill

    Thanks for teasing apart the differences in the Classique lineage! Beautiful watches and the earlier Roth versions are great, if mostly small (though the Traditions are a bit larger, generally?). I'd like to get another Breguet to join my last gen Marine, but torn between Tradition and Classique. If I went Classique, I'd have to go enamel and then the current one for its sublime and seamless subdial. That said, I wish they made more hand-wound Classiques and more in the ~38mm size. Oh and a steel Tradition!

    I'll never understand your aversion to silicon. Abraham Louis Breguet was an innovator and would have loved it if it was available to him. Balance spring alloys have come a long way since then as well.

      I haven't come across a big time independent maker (Dufour, Roger Smith, etc) that uses silicon hairsprings.

    • @mrdisco99
      @mrdisco99 7 місяців тому +1

      @@kojiattwood because it's patented technology that could only be produced by a few big shops. The patent has expired, though, so anybody can make them now, but it's not a small shop process.

      Ok, so big time independents don't do it, but WHY? I also genuinely don't understand the aversion to silicon. Is it something about the manufacturing process that you don't like or... what exactly????

    • @kojiattwood
      @kojiattwood 6 місяців тому

      @@brianwca Part of the intrinsic aspects of a mechanical movement is the ability to adjust the hairspring, which is not possible with silicon.

    Hi Bill, thanks for your fabulous information. Is there a resource available that enables you to find out what movement is in a Classique and what year it was made? Buying an expensive watch online is somewhat scary and I’m sure research is the best way to know what you’re buying

    Happy New Year. Great review.
    Love the kind of style that brings this brand. Massive guiloche area, thin blue seconds and perfect executed latin numbers.
    It is great that Swatch has saved it from extinction but I miss small stylish seconds.
    I thought Breguet had models with seperate subdials for second, minute, hour.
    Are there any Breguet watches with jumping hours?

  • @meistermacherausland8469

    I heard rumors that Breguet has start listening to watch enthusiasts and they might have same changes to some models next year , if that is true ; it would be as consequence of watch market circumstances that push them to hear the customers and skip the ego that swatch or any big watch cooperation is known for last years.

    Hello Bill, what do you think of the Vacheron Overseas perpetual ultra thin model, is it worth the price of $100K plus. Or would you wait to purchase due to the market? I’m concerned about value over being more financially responsible. Thank you.
