@gripol hi,this was writting by a great saint from senegal in the year of 1820,if im not wrong. His name was sheik Ahmadou Bamba. He was the founder of the town of touba in senegal. He was a peacemaker in his time fighting against the oppression of the french army .GOD knows best
I cannot expess how glad I am that I found this truly breathtaking music and lyrics/the instuments - the whole. I couldn't stop listening to it over and over because the feeling it evoked within me would suddenly abrupt every time I would hear it. Truly amazing.
A prayer for the smallness of our life to the greatness of the universal. Great musical interpreters and singer. Thanks to Alassane Ndiaye for introducing this to me.
Aho, it is. A wonderful pilgrimage. I walked that same trail over thirty years ago, and I remembered it here! One can't forget of course, such a place. I love his playing music at the summit, the sun setting. Such sacredness.
Beautiful - nice to have translated, Yaa Allah bil-Mustafa, as, O God my helper through Mustafa:) li-Llah, to God, to God, to God! Amen! we have an event in london, we would like to invite you to play...?
one of the best i ever heard, can we have more of this great god love songs??? i hear it since weeks ,hundred times and i´m not tired of this song, thank you
very soon on the web u will be able to download it CD or DVD. I will put the link here. The idea to produce this movie came from a meeting of Modou. He told us his story and we fall in love with his music.
I think Modou is Senegalese as he added a few Wolof words alongside the Arabic. The name "Modou/Mamadu" is common in West Africa as a shorter term for the name "Muhammad" :)
Beautiful. Just simple beauty!!!! I just searched for something special, and I found it! Mashallah! Where is this? Can anyone let me know? Please excuse my ignorance!
I also want to know where I can find more by these musicians? Its beauty-full! Makes me feel I am around a campfire sharing beautiful stories about the Prophet of Mercy. Also, what is the name of the documentary? Hoping its available in English. Insha'Allah.
Shaykh Ahmadu Bamba wrote this beautiful poem-prayer when his blessed mother fell ill seeking her healing, by the leave of Allah his mother was healed. It is used to this day by those praying for the recovery of their sick ones.
Warkha , Modou is senegalese right, but he not a disciple of Cheikhe Ahmadou Bamba. He belongs to another community called "Layene". They are disciple of the Cheikh Limamou Lahi and their holy city in in Yoff (near Dakar). Their name Lahi (Or Laye) is a sign of belonging to Allah and all the members of the community have taken the name. They do all their praises with a typical african drums call "tabala". They are using sufi music for long time...
As Salaam Aleikum to everyone...

Hello. I see that your request is two years old and it's entirely possible that you have long since found his name, but this is Modou Gaye.

someone has to be really ignorant to say this. no language sounds bad in their OWN music.
that's a pretty god awful and inaccurate translation of a very beautiful piece of poetry by Sidna Ahmadu Bamba.
but this music is part of this religion ,u dont know this?
