- I think most ML collectors are fans of the X-Men but will they be interested in the very unique stylings of the AoA character redesigns?

honestly when it comes to anatomy proportions on figures, this channel is what I watch. true enough that just making his shoulders a bit bigger would make him more "super hero"-y if that makes sense but besides that, this figure nailed the proportions!
AoA designs are incredible. It was the first time we saw an awesome alternate timeline x-men look and it was brilliant. I love it enough it caused me to buy all the AoA figures.
I too was enamored with the torso. The sculpt is absolutely brilliant!
The Age Of Apocalypse is my all time favorite, MARVEL story line 🔥
Love the AOA line. We need a wave 3 with a Nemesis/Holocaust BAF Deadman Wade and Carol Danvers would be nice.
I like the AoA designs, nearly all of ‘em. I don’t know if it’s because AoA was the first arc I got into reading comics as a kid. Rose tinted goggles.
On your point regarding anatomy, you’re a pretty heavy hitter as far as reviewers go and it wouldn’t surprise me if they do watch your reviews and take pointers around anatomy. They’ll never give you credit, such is the nature of the relationship between content creators and the corporate machine.
The AoA designs mostly win me over (80-90%) because making the X-Men more Sci-Fi rings true to me. I’m itching for an AoA Nightcrawler.
As for Colossus, his classic look has always put me off for some reason, so this will be how he lives on my shelf. (Maybe I’ll try swapping on the heads from the jumpsuit version for neutral looks.)
PS: Anthony is totally right about the reds and yellows needing *some* kind of color wash
I feel bad for the customizers who sculpted their colossus chest into this. Imagine doing so much sculpt work and then hasbro goes "here is a half nakey colossus for you all"
I’m not the biggest fan of many AoA designs but I can definitely say this guy’s is my favorite.
It looks amazing how the tubes are used as striations in the muscles
This figure gets it right with the shoulders, unlike almost all the ML. You always want the shoulders to be above the lower part of the chest, never aligned.
mhm
I 100% agree with your critics, with bigger shoulders, a different yellow, a bit of paint, an extra neutral head, and better range in some of the articulation points this could've been a 10 (I would've loved some butterfly joints). I love the AOA look and the AOA ML waves, I've been waiting for Hasbro to release action figures based on those comics for ages so I couldn't be happier.
There are some thing I would like to change on this BAF but it's still my favorite BAF of the year. I still don't have mine in hand though, I'm Portuguese soeither I buy my ML on Amazon or I get them a bit later then the USA and UK collectors.
Thanks for the review Anthony.
I rarely buy a whole wave but I really loved this figure so I did it. Makes me want to read the AOA comics. I did display this figure with the bearded head from a previous version of colossus. It matches really well.
I have to say that I am a big fan of the AOA designs, nice to have something a little different. Colossus is my favorite X-men!
I'm the same for AoA. For example, that iceman is one of my favorite iterations of him.
Zup Anthony, I have to say that the photoshop was very helpful, for me, to be able to see what you are saying, keep on doing it bro. I like this figure, Sabertooth, Iceman are some of the best and wolverine, cyclops some of the worst, in my opinion. Thanks for the video bro, merry Christmas and happy new year!
Same to you.
I love the AoA designs. Not all of them, but a majority.
Can the red parts of the elbows be removed? I'm thinking of replacing my Death's Head arms with these arms.

I agree Anthony if that is the Look Aesthetic Wise Looks Better
Bigger shoulders make such a difference! You are the greatest reviewer of all time 🤟💯👏
AoA was the best story in a bad era of X-Men comics. I have to admit that it was pretty cool to have the entire line of X-comics flip their identities for four months. It's really the contrast with what's "normal" in 616 that makes the AoA characters interesting by implication. Setting aside my feelings for the story, the character designs are overall a side-grade. There are standouts for sure (Sunfire, Blink) and it's hard to say that anything is definitely a bad costume.
I’m fine with the AOA designs. They’re pretty different from what we’re use to seeing which is fine in my book (don’t love them all but nice to see some variety).
8/10 is fair for this guy. Only knock I’ll give it is the small shoulders as you pointed out. Considering the usual standard for marvel legends, this guy is great. Easily in my top 10 marvel legends of 2021.
Just got the whole wave for $90 right now on walmart and amazon.
I loved their revamp nice seeing some villains being good and good guys being bad.
Artwise sunfire, Iceman, nightcrawler, havok, mags, cyke and a lot more.
it was edgier
I liked the designs from AoA - mostly the Bachallo ones - but the story not so much.
And I loved this figure the sculpt is awesome and can't complain about colors but I agree about the lack of accessories and shoulder size though I only noticed that after you mentioned.
But the wave itself was quite disappointing. Or maybe I got way too hyped..?
Loved Rogue, Sabretooth and Magneto but Cyclops and Shadowcat looks too 'bland' - I actually added a few things like anklets on Shadowcat and new boots for Cyclops so they would look the way I think they should.
Iceman has great sculpt but I don't care about the character and Legion I bought for the BAF part only.
i like the AoA designs, almost all of them....almost....cyclops...
I got Holocaust, but im sure many collectors would want him as the next Baf if another AOA wave's to be made...
For the sake of the articulation in the shoulders I have to choose the smaller ones while they may look well obviously small it also doesn’t throw off the entire look of the figure
big shoulders can have perfectly functional articulation.
What custom figures have you made? Can you make these customs, Bloodaxe, comic style Skurge, Graviton, Count Nefaria, Nightmare, Dr Spectrum, original Nighthawk?
I like this figure
Hasbro should re-do classic Colossus but with the articulation and proportions executed like on this figure.
Im with you, I hate some and love some designs.
I like less of the AOA designs, I do like a few of them like magneto, and iceman. Great review!
The Photoshop definitely looks better, but won't it hinder the arm articulation in terms of raising it up horizontally?
not at all if executed properly.
The designs were pretty out there, especially during the era. Biggest one was Wolverine.
Love the designs 👍🏻
Since you where talking about proportions in this whats your opinion on the new base bode they showed off
have a link?
Damn, i've been wating for you. Love it.
This screams custom for me. I can see a beard Colussas head for an alt.
I was wondering if this guy's fist-hands might be better sized for the Colossus figure from the Juggernaut 2-pack. Or if the silver even matches...
if i remember correctly, that one was painted.
As soon as you said McDonald's I was like the yellow suspenders gotta go. Wouldn't paint the red just give it a simple wash.
I like the ones i know.
I don't like the AoA designs at all. The only ones that I kind of like are the ones that are close enough to the 616 design that they can be fudged to fit in; like iceman or nightcrawler. Other than that, they look like an attempt to be what the 90s thought was edgy.
Even still, I really want this colossus because of the size and sculpt. Which sucks, because I'm not buying 6 figures I don't want
I want this guy but I'm not paying $100 for him. If I do get him I will strip off all the dumb pirate stuff and just have him au natural
🙂👍🏽📽
Not generally a fan of the AOA designs. Some are ok, but the majority are a bit too 90's exxxtreeeeme 'tude for me.
Great review!! I think the whole AOA line was wak!
Looks very 1980's Hulkamainia. Not bad but not my favorite Colossus
Iron monger bro please
Not a fan of aoa designs overall.
Especially the Wolverine and sabretooth.
i wasnt a fan of the AoA designs. I got the first few comics and didnt like the art or the look.
The AOA aesthetic is ridonkulous...
Omg first
