Here are a couple of tips that make assembly slightly easier ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxCx5fHawkK9OoV-ojFrY8JLnZrFwAmvUt . 1) One person can assemble, but if you have a buddy to help, it will make it go faster - especially steps 1-3 and 8 (the legs aren't heavy but can be difficult to hold while screwing things in). Step 8, 1st part will take some time unless you have two more hands OR are really lucky. 2) Use a socket wrench! 3) Step 7, 3rd part - the flame carry over tube has an open side, MAKE SURE THE OPEN SIDE IS FACING THE FRONT. If it's facing the back, the tube won't work. 4) Step 10, 3rd part - if you don't have small hands (I don't, they're gigantic) getting the nut on is really difficult (but not impossible). It took me about 4 hours to assemble, but I took a "union break" every 60-90 minutes and ate a quick lunch. Also, I'm really OCD so I took my time, looked at the instructions carefully, and cleaned up as I went.
Goodness, that's probably the best meal I've seen made on a flat top, and the way you make it sounds and look so easy helps so much. Was thinking about getting a flat top (not this one, too poor) but you sold me over a regular grill. Only thing I can think a regular grill does better is grill marks, wind managment, and sealing in heat (a lid for roasts). The shear convenience of these while doing average things like burgers, hot dogs, fries, eggs, bacon... ect is awesome and such a time saver.
People!! I purchased a camp chef flat top grill while my wife had a contractor put in a real kitchen. I was not disappointed!! This grill is outstanding simple reliable and cooks food beautifully!! Outstanding!! Be careful with the grease drain. Once the grill is hot lower the heat to the lowest setting as the hot iron will maintain an even heat and not burn food!
Jon , try putting the corn straight on the flat top withe a seasoned butter/oil mixture , cover with a bowl or any deep cover for a couple minutes with a spray of water , au jus is nice too turn and cover again for a couple more minutes ...really good ......nice vid by the way .
Love my Camp Chef flat top and have made many steaks on it, as well as all of the other goodies. Would love to see more of this vids like Blackstone have with their flat top. Keep them coming. Thanks.
Just got us the Blackstone Tail Gater , Really liking it so far. But have already maybe realized Might should have got the little bigger griddle......but We'll see, Just wife and me.... But loving the griddle for sure!!
@@FernandoRodriguez-ds5ri I love it. I really enjoy cooking on this thing. Take care on cleaning and seasoning the griddle; not that it's difficult. Although no grill marks, steaks turn out really well and having foods sectioned off at different temps on the griddle is next level. There's a tonne of recipe ideas on YT for ya. Best.
I believe he intended to say smoke point, vs flash point, which is the temp that any particular oil smokes/begins to break down/loses flavor. Don't let oil heat up too long before cooking with it...
I saw a video for using a potato to clean the griddle surface. I guess cooking the potatoes where the steaks were cooked will help clean the griddle? Just got my Denali pro 3x and luv it. I have the 2 burner griddle to compliment the single burner griddle that came with the stove coming today so I can cool lotsa pancakes.
I cooked in a diner style restaurant for 30 years. We had three 36" in flat tops in our kitchen. Needless to say, I know a lot about cooking on them. Your meal looked really, really good! Only thing for me is that I like my steak a little more on the rare side!
I have almost always used a small cast-iron flat steak griddle or just a skillet on a BBQ. I think steak is much better grilled than cooked over open flame.
I'm new to this flat top cooking. I got a Blackstone today. Can you please tell me why you said that the steaks were ready (2:33)-ish but you didn't flip them. Don't you have to flip them and do them both sides? Okay, thank you for helping make lives better with teaching us how to cook at home.
Well done Camp Chef - all cheap shots from the wanna be, peanut gallery to the contrary. The steaks were perfectly done to the degree that I like them. I don't own an outdoor flat top but from time to time I do use my indoor, stove top griddle for equally rewarding and delicious culinary adventures. Thank you for sharing. For this next coming Winter, the dice have been cast. Cheers!
If y’all want to pick up the fond off of a flat top use a ladle full of chicken or beef stock. Flavors the potatoes or vegetables you got cooking alongside it.
Best thing to do is buy a grill for steaks and meat+ buy little griddle ( universal gas grill grate insert) . Best of both worls, Smokey grill flavored Steaks and meats+ hibachi / breakfast.
Hardwood charcoal can be freaking amazing! Like smoking with cherry or apple wood chips! I like the variety of cooking between grill and griddle. So much food, so many ways to cook it! :)
I completely agree forget the flame it just makes a huge mess. the flat top allows the steaks to cook in their own juices. flat top wins this guy is a wonderful chef
A friend of mine bought one of these griddles last summer, he bought it because of all the hype around these things. He invited me over for the first cookout. He cook some steaks on it and some burgers. We both talked it over and said that they tasted good, but they also tasted like something that could have been cooked inside. When we cook outside we kind of want that outdoor grilled flavor on our food. And the flat top just wasn't giving that. I got an infrared grill that heats up to 600 - 700 degrees pretty fast. And there's no flame ups with that, and everytime I grease drips down it gives off smoke. Just gives a nice flavor to the food. For any kind of meat my choice is a grill, sorry. What they should do is a blind taste test. Go to a street fair or something like that. Take a charcoal grill, a gas grill, and one of these flat top grills, and cook some steaks on each one of them. Hand out some samples to people and don't tell them which one was cooked on which. Then see which one the people thinks is better tasting. My money would be on the charcoal one first, gas grill second, and the flap top would come in third. That's JMHO of course.
NorCal SawSquatch You can purchase them. I have a 14”x16” reversible grill/griddle. I’m thinking of purchasing another 14”x16” to cover the other burner.
I knew this was going to be good as soon I saw my mans mustache and dad outfit. Bet you he’s wearing some white new balance shoes...
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Only the CLEANEST of the crisp white new balance shoes.....the gray ones are reserved strictly for mowing the lawn 🤣
Tan leather boat shoes appear at 4:19. 😂
Lol...😂
There will be smart jacket with leather elbow pads hanging up somewhere. This is a guy that does things properly

How you like it so far. Thinking of getting one instead of a regular grill

Flare ups are cool
Delicious 😋
Yummy !
Looks good. I would have put the potatoes on earlier... nothing like good crunch on the outside of the potato and soft inside.
I enjoyed that.
easy fella, that shirt says you have used to much seasoning, lol. Nice vid!
Great looking meal! We will have to try this. Anything you would do different? Possibly put potatoes on earlier next time?
I saw a video for using a potato to clean the griddle surface. I guess cooking the potatoes where the steaks were cooked will help clean the griddle? Just got my Denali pro 3x and luv it. I love this grill but please tell me about the knife and where can I get one?

Yummy, what kind of oil are you using chef?

Grill and flat top are a posing ideas would you say?
I’ve been cooking for 15 years professionally, I’ve never ever herd the term raise the flashpoint, lol. I like the flat top though, need one of those.
I haven’t heard it either. Guessing he means use the oil to ease the burning of the butter. Lol

The way this guy says vegetables lol I laugh every time for some reason
vaygtables
That is an insane amount of seasoning
Thank you 😊
2:58 Who gave him permission to use my little grill cleaner?

when you parboil potatoes, do you cut them up first?
Can you scrape like that, with metal utensils, if your griddle has a nonstick coating?
What model is that setup? I like that exact same setup.
So I wonder if you would recommend a flat top grille? I mean they are out there.
It would be nice to what temperature setting.
When is the next part coming out, when he does the stir fry like the writeup claims?
Lol
I think you did a great job and I like the set up but I am a purest and love my hardwood charcoal! Great job though I would scarf it up!
Hardwood charcoal can be freaking amazing! Like smoking with cherry or apple wood chips! I like the variety of cooking between grill and griddle. So much food, so many ways to cook it! :)
Awesom flat top grill how is it pkz
may I recommend using a bench scraper instead of a spatula works great
Now I'm hungry. Time to head outside can prepare my morning Ribeye
What is the correct name for a flat cooker for inside use, please?
I completely agree forget the flame it just makes a huge mess. the flat top allows the steaks to cook in their own juices. flat top wins this guy is a wonderful chef
Timothy Hoffer He might be a great chef but this is just being a cook. It's a diner without a roof.
A friend of mine bought one of these griddles last summer, he bought it because of all the hype around these things. He invited me over for the first cookout. This grill is NICE. It def would be bad ass if it had a 2/piece griddle flat top. So u could 50/50 grill and griddle @ the same time!
NorCal SawSquatch You can purchase them. I have a 14”x16” reversible grill/griddle. I’m thinking of purchasing another 14”x16” to cover the other burner.
A Steak Cooked on a Flat Top Grill YUK Flame = Flavor
1995dresser that's where you are totally wrong. I mean totally.
Does it matter if you slice the potatoes or cube them?
I purchased a similar tacklife plancha from Amazon, which is handy for lazy people like me.
