You’ve made the last few months of the whole coalition vans thing so easy and you’ve made the last few months of my life way better than probably either of us could imagine. Don't delete Rick. Not many people can sit and talk about life, feelings, everything. Others just keep it inside. They say its good to talk. Must say you and young Mr Terrible working together has been amazing, both wonderful, clever blokes,, with a passion. Total respect, take care and keep loving the lifestyle, cuz it's the only one I've found with real people in it. All on a level playing field. All the best bud. 👍

Our lives are so different, but what you said resonates as if we were living, or have lived, the same life. I am not far off your age, and I also worry far too much about what if earlier life choices had been made differently and if I would be a different/better person in my mindset than am I now. Yet, hearing the same thoughts I have, from people who have had different lives, lead me to understand that it doesn't matter how you have lived your life, we all go through the same shit and all suffer the same thoughts from time to time, and for some of us, those thoughts plague us and overwhelm us. Thank you for airing your thoughts, I am certain that many of us who feel the same would have deleted everything as soon as we watched it back.

hi rick. lots of people love your vids because they come from your heart. you are not alone. you have many friends but dont forget the people who love your vids are also your friends ok. i went through hell but have come through it strong. 2006 in july i got prostate cancer. thought that was me finished.. got treated at christies hospital with success. 5 month later my wife of 36 years died. felt destroyed. but got through it. 15 years later the cancer spread to my lymph node and told it was terminal..3 years later i am still here at 73.

Anxiety is a big thing in our family, too! I have struggled with it in varying degrees for 40 years, (I'm 61), all five of my kids struggle with chronic anxiety, too. I have two boys that are on the Autism spectrum. They are both really high functioning, but the thing they struggle with, is mostly all anxiety related. Social anxiety. It is a real tough struggle. Constantly. Both of them in residential treatment schools because their anxiety prevents them from being able to function in a regular classroom. I'm in California, and they are both in schools in Utah. It's hard. But!! I am so, so, grateful for all the support and love we've experienced over the last 18 years! It's been there since our journey with the boys began. What I'm trying to say in my long- winded way, is that I Get It!! If talking to all of us on s camera helps, then, we're all here to listen and understand. As far as impostor syndrome goes, I was just thinking this morning, how my whole adult life, I've felt like I'm just faking being a real adult! Still! After five kids, and five grandkids, I still feel like I have NO idea what I'm doing sometimes! You really seem like ag good man. I know I've never met you, but you're a really good person, I can tell. Your wife seems like a really great mom, and a truly kind and thoughtful person. Just remember, you're doing the best you can, in the moment, and that's all any of us can do!
Hi Heather.. thankyou for your kind words. They really do mean alot to me.. you have been through alot, so has all of your family. Sending lots of love ❤️
That was powerful, sometimes we can over think things and get lost in our own minds. Nothing better than having a friend that you can rely on it goes a long way. 🤩
Never listen to anyone with negative comments.,,,,,just listen to yourself and have faith in yourself! If you leave work knowing you’ve done the best you can then that’s all you can hope for! I’d have you do any work on my van or house. Love the interaction between you and the terrible one. Keep up the great work.
You can bend my ear all day long, love you buddy like a brother from another mother, you Debs and Izzy are so amazing, the love I have for you all and Stan is unsurpassed ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
From what I’ve seen you’re a top notch gadgy at building van internal woodwork it really does look amazing what you do and you and Liam work so well together and you have a rapport that’s rare in any work place, may it long continue
Thank you for sitting and talking to us. People should talk more and get things out of their heads and into the world. We are all way more similar than we think. You and Liam are fantastic together. Watching your friendship grow and the way you support each other and dance together and laugh together is wonderful. I know Liam won’t have it but you are the better dancer 😊😊 The Toast Lady is wonderful too (I use my coaster every day - thank you) and it’s been completely lovely watching your van journey. Thank you for sharing it x
Hi Mandy... thankyou so much for your kind words.. we have spoke about life before, I have an easy life compared to alot of people, people like you are the proper warriors, fighters... keep it up.. sending lots of love.. ❤️. Glad you like and use the "Toast Lady" coaster. 😀

Rick Thanks for this video. It's great to see you happy and that daft liam lad bouncing off each other. You and your family are lovely people keep it real.
Good on you miduck for putting this video up...sharing has got to help others. The terrible times were the bad old days when these things were taboo to talk about.
Hi Rick. Thanks for posting this. It was definitely not the most boring vlog I've watched. More people need to talk openly about their mental health issues and I applaud you for talking about yours. It's about developing strategies to deal with that black cloud/voice that tells you your not good enough etc. Don't know what my neighbour's think when I shout "f""k off" loudly when I'm struggling as they know I live on my own. Thing is I don't care as it helps me to cope with those negative thoughts that creep into my head. Keep up the good work with Liam but most of all KEEP TALKING 💙💙
Don’t ever think you’re less than you are love. I think what you’re accomplishing now is amazing. The worry & stress you have endured has knocked you, but you’re rising above it now. It can be hard to actually believe that when you’ve had such a difficult time, but it’s true. You & Liam are such a great team & work very well together your talents complimenting one another. It’s good to have these chats & not keep bottled up thoughts that can pull us down. Keep on the path you’re now on with your lovely family plus 🐶💙. It will get better & better. Take good care now kindest wishes, Elizabeth ☀️🚛
Your a top man Rick. A true craftsman and a true gent. Your vlog will help so many people who struggle each day. You had the guts to put your feelings out there. Full credit to you. All the best and keep making great vlogs with Liam
Very powerful and heart felt video, never be ashamed to talk and more than anything be proud of what you have, what you do and what you’ve achieved. Great band of brothers and long may it continue for you both 👌🤙🚍
Phew...you had me welling up...not because I felt sorry for you but because I saw myself in you, alot of people don't realise how hard it is sometimes just to get your head of the pillow and it comes from nowhere and for no reason...I'm a closed book and find it very hard to talk but I know if I didn't I would go crazy or do something silly...talking is a release valve we all need wether its face to face or into a camera...I know people saying it will be ok and chin up goes in one ear and out the other so I'll just say don't give up,keep fighting and know your loved...
Thanks Steve.. in the past, it was almost impossible to get out of bed without crying or smashing things to bits.. it is better to release the problems.. ❤️
I've built my own van in Chicago and after loosing a family, house and some of my will t live being n my Van is my safe place. I've delt with depression and when it becomes big it can almost cripple me. 3 years and this van has given me purpose but it's my safe place.
I don’t know why but I find you funny even when you’re (supposed to be) being serious 🤣. But yer we are all guessing Rick, you ain’t wrong there pal. Fair play nabbing some goodies 🎁 at last! May they keep coming. About the dancing 🕺🏽 like I said to you @ overlander show “don’t give up the day job” 😅 ✊🏽
If you don’t talk you will send your self over the edge I’ve been there since I was a child this is truth and if except death and embrace it you won’t be afraid of it and that weight will fall it’s the only thing I’m not afraid of I’m nearly 57 keep ya chin up love to the family keep doin what ya do and give Liam a bit of stick you’ll be ok
As a on looker I have seen a big change in you since you and Liam have been working together You should never doubt your ability and craftsmanship I think you come across as a very good person and I like the mix of your work and family life that you share in your videos Looking forward to seeing what you get up to next Keep it coming
Hi Rick We went to a fair in horbury today , plenty of charity stalls…one that stuck out was “Andy’s man club” a man’s talking club every Monday at 7.00pm regarding men that have been thro a storm , going through one or have one brewing….To see something like this publicly at a fair was truly impressive…we talked to a couple of the guys with my daughter in law who is a nhs nurse in this envoirenment and for anyone that feels the need there motto is “It’s okay to talk”
Funnily enough, the first vlog I ever saw of you guys, was you sat in that seat telling a very different story. Glad everything’s working out for you buddy 👍
Look forward to it 😂 yeah, we are full pelt on the house at the minute so not been getting out. We are at vanlife though so maybe then by time we catch up 👍
Thanks so much for sharing this, opening up and being so honest and raw, it struck a chord with me, as it has with many others, that's why I love your channel, keep being you, love to the Fabulous Toast Lady and the mini graffiti artist and the Terrible one! Helps us who also experience imposter syndrome to try to move forward with more confidence xx
@@TheBeechwoods I will! I lost my small business at the beginning of lockdown so decided to try to make it as an artist on UA-cam and Patreon, I haven't looked back but often suffer from anxiety about it all. vids like this really helps to quell the anxiety x

Just watched this video and made me quite emotional. Just proves that you can never judge a book by its cover, you come across as very confident and your work is top quality and you should never doubt yourself. Love the banter and straight talking between you and Liam. Thanks for your honesty and I’ve subscribed and looking forward to watching more👍
Seriously brave but honest video. You got it right you and Liam bounce of each other but, Not just for camera it reality. Subscribed after you got working with Liam but always remember your first video remember watching it sometime. Take care my friend but keep leaning on each other. Thanks 👍 for this one made me seriously think.
Well done mate good video more people have these problems than we realise I myself have these issues a lot of people haven't got a clue keep living your free life
Hi Rick as you say it’s good to talk. I’m sat here listening so now you know we’re listening👂. I don’t often comment on any videos or lives I just sit here watching and listening But tonight it struck a nerve some people need to talk more and let it out . stay safe and well ALL Of YOU that means Liam as well
I am so pleased you didnt delete this, It may show other men that speaking about their issues is not something to be ashamed of, I know I have been one of them, the same weekend you posted this I talked to a friend about some of my issues, so it was a coincidence to see this. Watching you and Liam is such a release for me, and the workmanship you have is superb. One day I hope to be in a position to start van life, until then at least I have your videos to watch, take care all of you.
Thanks for sharing. It’s really helpful for those who are also struggling at times but bottle things up to see you talking so openly and honestly. I appreciate this video as much as the fun van stuff
Thank you Rick for your courage and openness for recording and posting this vid. It's been amazing seeing the difference in you and Liam over the past few weeks in the lorry build. Keep on trucking guys because you make a difference 🙏.
Bloody love you two. You’re both so similar in your anxieties, worries & self confidence. You’re good for each other and it’s lovely to watch your friendship blossom but even more so to see you push & encourage each other. You’re busy for the next good few months and there’s a reason for that …. People are invested in you as people, your honesty, your workmanship and your desire to deliver fantastic builds. It’s lovely getting to know the toast lady and your little Princess. Well done for uploading such an open and honest video, another thing you & Liam are good at. You lead the way to make us all realise self doubt etc is all very normal for all of us even if you do feel alone with your thoughts in those moments. Sending you a massive hug. It’s a pleasure to watch you all and get to know you all. Rick, Liam, big love. X
Rik its normal to think the way you do because we live in reality mate whats mean to be wont pass you by for the good its nice to follow your journey just enjoy life and laugh cheers
Thanks for being real mate ! I’m glad you didn’t bin this video… I have had to fight many demons over the years and still do .. ✌🏼❤️ brother. Much respect.
Its good to talk Rick,I'm so happy you didn't delete your vlog. I too suffer with anxiety / depression . I struggle most days but must learn some how, to take control of my mind, and be positive. life's not easy but we must see and take the good in each day and be greatful
You are a wonderful talented person. Mental health is a fupping nightmare. I have suffered for yrs with it. I find i am fighting with thse demons every day. So you are not alone and you are an incredible person. This video is a big step forward. Talking always helps. You keep smiling. Keep strong, and never stop. :D
Rick it's good to talk , believe me there are plenty of us out there that understand and relate to how you feel. Lifes hard at times. Just keep going and believe in yourself. You and The terrible one have got a good thing going with Coallition Vans and we can see the great work you do. I admire you and your family for making the decision to live van life and getting out of the rat race. Believe in yourself have faith , loads of money, fancy houses and posh cars isn't what makes people successful, being contented with what you have holding your family together and being happy with them makes you just as sucessful. Don't let anxiety get in the way of enjoying every moment of life with them . Keep doing what you doing , you and Liam have helped others out with their anxieties by just being you on a UA-cam video. Listen we are all on this bumpy road of life all heading for the same terminus we all at times worry and wonder but lifes to short enjoy the freedom you have from escaping being on the rat race roundabout and live everyday to the fullest.
Powerful and very important conversation. Thank you for having the courage to post this vlog. I’m a new follower and really enjoy the Liam and Rick collaborations. Hi from Australia.
I totally agree with Kerry, I'm so glad you didn't delete it and I know the toast lady does the editing and I'm so happy and proud of you for putting it out there. It's so honest. I have to say I only found you both in the last 6 months and I enjoy every video you both put out there. I've enjoyed all the work you've done together, the banter, the dancing and the laughs. Keep it up both of you.. waiting for the next video... Ireland watching! 😂
We don’t need to have something missing for our lives to have anxiety, to struggle with our thoughts and what goes around in our head. Feeling like we should be grateful or that we have no reason to moan when others are worse off, just adds to the cycle and pressure that comes with anxiety and low mood and allows them to grow. Accepting our feelings are valid because they are just that OUR feelings can be very freeing. You don’t need to understand why you feel a certain way you just need to know how to juggle those balls and keep them up in the air when you need them too whilst also knowing how to put them down when you need to just take care of you. Loving the van builds and the banter you guys have whilst holding each other up at the same time.
Yup and some times we need to let some drop and others we guard until our last breaths. Im pretty sure toast lady, the long haired goth et Al have some pretty strong glue to piece together the ones that need fixing from time to time too 😂
Thanks for the video. Although our day to day circumstances are different, your reflection made me stop and reflect on what's bothering me and the mental challenges I face. I realise that lots of us face the same issues. Imposter Syndrome, whether I am good enough... Thank you again.
Great vlog Rick. Nice to hear you again. You keep it real and tell it how it is. I have watched you from day one when you and the family were in Peggy and you have changed beyond recognitionin that time. You all have helped me more than you will ever know during the dark days of lockdown. You all and Liam and all the other van lifers were my escape from that bullshit house arrest. My thanks to you and Debs and Izzy for showing us your world. I'm so pleased you didn't delete this because what you said was well worth hearing. Keep on keeping on and keeping it real especially working with that Liam bloke. It's a rare thing to find the kind of working chemistry you two have. I'm retired now and don't miss the work but I do miss the banter and the people. Take care and my best wishes to all of you and I look forward to seeing more of your adventures. ❤️💙👍
Thank you for your honesty. This will no doubt help others out there. , even if it’s just one person. We’re still growing into ourselves and developing .. I’m nearly 60 and still learning about me. Thanks Andrew.. means alot.. ❤️
Very open & very honest, good shout, lots of men are having problems, facing them is half the battle and having someone to talk to means a lot.
Totally agree Roger.. ❤️
That was powerful, sometimes we can over think things and get lost in our own minds. Nothing better than having a friend that you can rely on it goes a long way. 🤩
Thanks Rob.. overthinking isn't good, not easy to get out of either. ❤️
Thankyou Anthony... ❤️ ❤️
You can bend my ear all day long, love you buddy like a brother from another mother, you Debs and Izzy are so amazing, the love I have for you all and Stan is unsurpassed ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Same goes for you.. we are always here. Don't forget that. ❤️❤️❤️
From what I’ve seen you’re a top notch gadgy at building van internal woodwork it really does look amazing what you do and you and Liam work so well together and you have a rapport that’s rare in any work place, may it long continue
Thanks Shane. ❤️
@@TheBeechwoods my coaster is in pride of place and my stickers are on my work notebook and they make boring meetings better 😊😊 we are all warriors and you talking like you did helps us all so thank you ❤️ also - keep dancing and shaking those snake hips. Eventually Liam might get as good as you 😂 love to you all - including lovely Stan x
@@pootle2768 Haha.. glad the stickers make a boring meeting brighter.. have a good day Mandy. Lots of love. ❤️
So heart felt... it got me ... so true too ... it was great to hear... certainly helped me ... thank you 😊
Thankyou. ❤️
Rick Thanks for this video. It's great to see you happy and that daft liam lad bouncing off each other. You and your family are lovely people keep it real.
Thanks Dan.. ❤️
Good on you miduck for putting this video up...sharing has got to help others. The terrible times were the bad old days when these things were taboo to talk about.
Thanks Denise.. ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks Den... theyvare my favourite words as well, f#####f... it does make you feel better.. ❤️🤣
Your a legend mate keep inspiring everyone. Dave and Julie (Castleton)
Thanks Dave.. we will be back soon. ❤️
Right back atcha ❤️. I find extra sleep and walks in nature really helpful. Look after yourself 👊
❤️❤️
Don’t ever think you’re less than you are love. I think what you’re accomplishing now is amazing.
The worry & stress you have endured has knocked you, but you’re rising above it now. It can be hard to actually believe that when you’ve had such a difficult time, but it’s true. You & Liam are such a great team & work very well together your talents complimenting one another.
It’s good to have these chats & not keep bottled up thoughts that can pull us down. Keep on the path you’re now on with your lovely family plus 🐶💙. It will get better & better.
Take good care now kindest wishes,
Elizabeth ☀️🚛
Thankyou Elizabeth.. ❤️ ❤️
Your a top man Rick. A true craftsman and a true gent. Your vlog will help so many people who struggle each day. You had the guts to put your feelings out there. Full credit to you. All the best and keep making great vlogs with Liam
Thanks Steve. ❤️
Very powerful and heart felt video, never be ashamed to talk and more than anything be proud of what you have, what you do and what you’ve achieved. Great band of brothers and long may it continue for you both 👌🤙🚍
Thanks for your kind words Mark. ❤️❤️
you are amazing , i cant wait for your video to come up , you and liam bounce off each othere i laugh soooo much ,keep up the great work x
Thanks Shirley. ❤️
You're a gentleman Rick don't be to hard on yourself hopefully I'll bump into you one day out on the road .
Thanks Sam... hope so.
I will never give up the day job for dancing.. 🤣
Thanks Neil... i try not to worry about it, but, not successful at times. Will keep trying. ❤️
As a on looker I have seen a big change in you since you and Liam have been working together
You should never doubt your ability and craftsmanship
I think you come across as a very good person and I like the mix of your work and family life that you share in your videos
Looking forward to seeing what you get up to next
Keep it coming
Thankyou. ❤️❤️
Hi Rick
We went to a fair in horbury today , plenty of charity stalls…one that stuck out was “Andy’s man club” a man’s talking club every Monday at 7.00pm regarding men that have been thro a storm , going through one or have one brewing….To see something like this publicly at a fair was truly impressive…we talked to a couple of the guys with my daughter in law who is a nhs nurse in this envoirenment and for anyone that feels the need there motto is “It’s okay to talk”
I've heard of Andys man club, they do an amazing job.. ❤️
Really enjoyed your blogs, thank you. Bigfish
Thanks Lee. ❤️
Funnily enough, the first vlog I ever saw of you guys, was you sat in that seat telling a very different story. Glad everything’s working out for you buddy 👍
Thanks Oliver... im guessing there are plenty more videos of me chatting garbage to come.. 🤣. Hope you're both well. See you soon. Hopefully. ❤️❤️
Thanks Lois... I think we all suffer from time to time.. keep smiling. ❤️
@@TheBeechwoods I will! I lost my small business at the beginning of lockdown so decided to try to make it as an artist on UA-cam and Patreon, I haven't looked back but often suffer from anxiety about it all. vids like this really helps to quell the anxiety x

Love the banter and straight talking between you and Liam. Thanks for your honesty and I’ve subscribed and looking forward to watching more👍

Not just for camera it reality. Subscribed after you got working with Liam but always remember your first video remember watching it sometime.

Hi Rick as you say it’s good to talk. I’m sat here listening so now you know we’re listening👂.
Thanks buddy... its a shame some men think its weak to express themselves. But, I think its important to get it off your chest.
I luv your thinking out loud videos , very truthful and relaxed , tell the universe what you want you'll be surprised what turns up
Thankyou... ❤️..
Thanks for sharing. It’s really helpful for those who are also struggling at times but bottle things up to see you talking so openly and honestly. I appreciate this video as much as the fun van stuff
Thankyou David. ❤️
Thank you Rick for your courage and openness for recording and posting this vid. It's been amazing seeing the difference in you and Liam over the past few weeks in the lorry build. Keep on trucking guys because you make a difference 🙏.
Thankyou... ❤️❤️
To speak works wonders for the head dont keep it in 👍
Agreed... totally agree. ❤️

Its good to talk Rick,I'm so happy you didn't delete your vlog. I too suffer with anxiety / depression . I struggle most days but must learn some how, to take control of my mind, and be positive. life's not easy but we must see and take the good in each day and be greatful
Totally agree Mary.. take control, one day at a time.. ❤️❤️
Thanks Diane.. ❤️
I'm glad you didn't delete it, that's how the rest of us know we're not alone 💛
Never alone Phoebe. ❤️
We are all on a one way ticket.. let's enjoy the ride.. ❤️
Powerful and very important conversation. Thank you for having the courage to post this vlog. I’m a new follower and really enjoy the Liam and Rick collaborations. Hi from Australia.
Hi Kerry.... thanks for your kind words. ❤️
@@jacquiturvey2540 I wish the toast lady did do the editing.. would save me a job. 🤣❤️
Thanks Kym... life is like spinning plates, or juggling balls.. ❤️
Yup and some times we need to let some drop and others we guard until our last breaths. Im pretty sure toast lady, the long haired goth et Al have some pretty strong glue to piece together the ones that need fixing from time to time too 😂
I love watching you and Liam you make such a good team!
Thankyou.. ❤️
Thanks for the video. Although our day to day circumstances are different, your reflection made me stop and reflect on what's bothering me and the mental challenges I face. I realise that lots of us face the same issues. Imposter Syndrome, whether I am good enough... Thank you again.
Thanks for your comment Bruce... alot of us suffer from imposter syndrome.. but we are better than we think we are. ❤️
