This is the best version I've ever seen. Props to Elly Ameling and Edith Wiens and their ilk, but they sound a little too grandma-y for a song about a young girl. Damrau's voice is younger and brighter - much better.
She is wonderful in lieder. In opera her need to emote emotion for every syllable and project into the opera house is a parody familiar to people who loved Natalie Dessay . What is this all about. Terfel also has a similar way of emphasizing every syllable which is an interpretive related problem.It is tedious and very common. These are fine singers who don’t need to do this .
She is wonderful in everything she does! I don't understand your problem. Intonation and emotion are important and that's one of the things I appreciate about her singing. If you don't like it, that's ok, but do NOT say, that what Diana does, is a parody! That is extremely disrespectful!
