I think if they stayed with the main channel, they would have gotten to a million. They were at 910 or so and slowly climbing until they switched formats. They lost over 20k subs in 2 years.
a lot of the channels of the yogs are now stagnant and stopped gaining subs, i hoped it wouldn't be the case from HF. but they've always done what they wanted with the channels and where to put the content, i don't mind following them around from channel to channel as i've been doing that for years. that one VR video really boosted them, then covid meant they couldn't do IRL things until recently. but the content the past 3 years has been hilarious, and that's the result of doing what makes you happy and what you think is best. my goal with the hat films tiktok i created was to open them to a new audience as they didn't use much of tiktok, i've noticed if you're a fan of hat films that means you've been here a while so i wanted to expand upon that and get new people in! i think(?) it's been successful, a lot of the veteran viewers also enjoy what i do and that alone makes it worth it for me
I love Smiffy and while I greatly enjoyed the winding up for the daddest of dad jokes, it's cheating to use that for something like this, because it took actually 1200 years in real time for the shrimp joke, you're padding out the video and thats discriminatory because they have shittier jokes that take up less time ...am i a boomer?

I absolutely HATE the fact that the can turning was so popular cause that sound edited in fucking kills my ears. It's such a terrible noise.
