Born in Québec, Canada. The only way to see old architecture vibe is to go in Québec city or Montréal (only a few streets in Old Montréal). Going to Den Haag for 2 weeks with family in October, getting ready to be amazed with this historic country gem !

Tips for a next visit in 's-Hertogenbosch:
    - Moerputtenbrug = een 600 meter long former railroadbridge which is now a footpath. You can make a 5 km long walk, which will lead you for small part over a wooden foodpath over the swamps.
    - Haverleij = a living area in the form of castles
    - bolwoningen = very small houses for 1 of 2 persons in the form of a ball. The street where they stand is Bollenveld.
Use a bike when visiting this locations.

Nice views of the cathedral you took !
There's a lot of more hidden middle-agean corners in Den Bosch or s'Hertogenbosch.
    Jeroen Bosch (Hiëronymus Bosch)
Is one of the most famous painters of the northern renaissance. Not only for what he painted but also because for his fabulous technique in oilpainting
which made it all look '3-D'.
(B.t.w. NO-ONE ever pronounce 'sch' as sh. Just say Bos😊)

Why is the Dutch language always like this ?? The way it’s written and pronounced always different, hahaha 🤣 let me know if you have any hidden corners to recommend where to visit! I’ll try and check them out the next time ☺️

All I can say is Finally! but you missed quite a few of good spots and back alleys and some musea but a very nice review of Den Bosch. Like you said, have to come back during the summer for sure...
Just a hint, where the GameBox is, would be my place of choice to relocate since everything is within a 7-8 minutes walk and you basically life on top of everything. The bookshop is 111 years old btw.
Jeroen Bosch was one of the first critics of the Catholic church but in a very hidden manor, hence the creepy and weird projections sometimes of the after life and Christian rhetoric. The astronomical clock actually goes against the Catholic teachings and is a predecessor of the theory of evolution in a way, questioning the general perception of Adam and Eve and the creating of human kind.
I think you missed making the point that most of the inner-city is car-free (except for delivery vehicles).

That’s very interesting information about the clock!! Didn’t know it - thanks for sharing 😊

@@JanicasJourneys You should for sure take the boat tour, under the city as well as around it.
Then there is a design museum and a museum of visual arts (thats also next to the Citadel and the old harbor). And you missed the Zwanenbroeders' house, that is opposite of the Bosch Museum at the same street.
I saw you walk through the Stoofstraat thats is close to the Uilenburg (where the boat tour starts) and old ministry is located (Marianburg).
Then you can also visit the Town Hall at certain times and there are so many cycling routes you can take and see nature very close by.
There is also an area where there used to be factories and small workers houses that is totally renovated now and its around the river as well (boat tour goes there as well). It is basically when you took a side shot of the Cathedral, it is right at the back.
You were at the bookshop and candy shop. There is (one of) the oldest Dutch reformed churches and just around the corner (on the way to the cathedral) is the busiest streets with restaurants (Korte Putstraat).
Then there is a former church that is now a party center at the same street as the Cathedral, again at the back of the sideshot of the Cathedral.
The oldest mid-century and original designed house from Rietveld thats just behind the Citadel.
Then there are former factories like Verkade, Willem II, that are now turned into musea or music podia, again close to the Citadel.
In the next town (Vught) there are quite a bit of castles and a WWII memorial of a former concentration kamp. This area is a nature reserve and very nice to take a cycling tour. One of the most beautiful castles in The Netherlands is in Heeswijk as well.
And there is so many other things, I cant think of right now but you can take many different tours that explain the old history, done by "Kring vrienden van Den Bosch".

Helaas is Den Bosch niet meer wat t was vind ik, veel winkels helaas failliet een lege markt en belachelijke parkeerkosten.

Bossche Bol.. and don’t pronounce it Den Bosh, but Den Bos, like the Dutch word for wood or forest.
