Sankaran Namboodri - I have seen him performing as a child. prodigy introduced by Sri TVG way back in early 70s in Besant Nagar, Cheñnai. His music is exemplary & Blemishless as ever till date. These people are the assets to our culture and nation.

I have seen him singing him when he was about 10 yrs old at St.Joseph College, Trichirappalli campus. Wonderful singing. Mesmirising voice. I have heard his kalyani alapana at 10 yrs old krithi Nammivachina a kovur pancharatna krithi. He is a special creation of god. Best wishes to him always.

i know nothing about carnatic music, but he sounds so perfect, even better than kj..just my opinion.
+rajesh krishnan Sankaran Namboodiripad is a leading Carnatic Musician in Kerala. I would say, he is one of the the Best Carnatic Musician in Malayalam now .Not possible to compare to KJY. KJY was great is his time. Even now also. I have heard that KJY was mentor for Sankaran Namboodiripad for Carnatic Music

he should have become a play back singer rather!!! "nAbhi hrt-kaNTha rasana nAsadulu andu". yesudas,s popularity has contributed to the playback singing but it ofcourse has great negative impact in the carnatic music arena of kerala.(both singers and rasikas alike)..Why all these guys try to imitate his voice! which cant be considered as an ideal voice for carnatic singing! Poor kalyani rendering..that too as a prelude to Syama Sastry keerthanam...dear rasikas atleast once in your life listen to Brinndamma or KVN....
aneesh banerjee Just out of curiosity, whose voice would you then consider ideal for Carnatic? Also, I don't think he is trying to imitate KJY , this is his natural voice.
If doesn't know shut your mouth... how you compare sankaran nambuthiri and kjyesudas. What do you unserstand about sankaran nambuthiri... who is a rank holder in music and kjy was the ever best student of great chembai swami. Your attitude shows that u are a sarcasmic critic rather than a music lover. Pity you
