This story is absolutely fascinating. Recently watched an episode of American Pickers and learned of the legendary Old Rip. Love it that he inspired Michigan J. Frog. Horned toads are such amazing creatures.
I love Tx, even though I don't live there, I'm not even american, I live in México, which is also beautiful, but Tx, has something that attracts me. Its small towns, the accent on people's talking, just beautiful.
The real "Old Rip" was stolen for a randsom as they say in the video. What they forget to say is that they replaced the orginal toad with another because they NEVER got the toad back. According to legend, they stole the toad because it had all been a hoax in the first place and they wanted the others, to come clean.

Os C nope earth is round
You're right, and LOT of people know it. But, sadly, it's all they have.
Looks like Old Rip ate his arm and leg to get through all those years locked up in the cornerstone.
