This is a good video, but this is not a typical day. This is your first day, which is different than your typical day by design. Would love to watch a video on what a typical day looks like.
Bro Microsoft is my dream company (personally for me at least). I don't know if dreams do come true. But thanks for sharing a part of it through your perception.
Absolutely. Dreams can come true if you put in consistent hard work with a positive attitude. Good luck in the pursuit of your goals, you have our support!
It reminds me a lot of my dads office from 2009, wow, such beautiful enviroments. Maybe Microsoft isn't going so in the right direction with windows and all, but such beautiful envious
After my third year of college. Microsoft also has the Explore internship specifically for freshmen and sophomores. I also know underclassmen who have been hired into full internships.
@@TheTechTwins wait really im very interested in the Microsoft internship programn scince I am in freshmen year well basically barley started highschool but I've been interested since end of 6th grade.
What made you choose microsoft over other companies like Amazon, Google, etc.? Looks awesome by the way, you're going to do great things in the future!
Thanks Kyle! For Amazon, I wasn't interested in their culture, and personally don't use their hardware. Google would be an interesting option, but I've found they are pretty closed off for product management or program management positions for hardware development for college internships or full time. Facebook mainly does data centers and I'm personally interested in working on products that touch people's lives. Microsoft had a great culture in the Devices organization and I'm happy to be going back next summer.
this was like 2 years ago but how high did you score on your SAT and what was your average GPA throughout highschool? If it's too confidential or anything to talk about I understand.
We've taken a few classes at UC Berkeley, but there are a lot of free resources on UA-cam. If you're willing to pay a little, I believe Lynda.com has helpful courses as well.
Akemi Yu If you’re interested in programming and trying to learn alone W3S and StackOverflow are really helpful. If you want a little help or guide along the way CodeAcademy and TeamTreehouse are a go to. They break it down for you and if you put in some serious time you can learn any language in 4-6 months.
I am currently a Senior in college studying MET, I will be graduating at the end of 2019. I have not had the opportunity to do an internship due to working part time while being a full time student. I recently began employment for a pharmaceutical company with a non-engineering-related position, and am hoping to advance to one of their many engineering positions upon graduating this year. I am worried that not having any internship experience will make my employer not consider me even though I am a current employee in a different department. I figured getting my foot in the door here would be a good initial step to set the pace for future consideration. I would get a summer internship, but my job requires a back and forth 3 days a week - 4 days a week 12 hour night shift, which really narrows if not completely eliminates the possibility to juggle these odd hours and a day time internship. Any tips or internship ideas would be appreciated. Or should I stop worrying about an internship?
Since you’re about to graduate I wouldn’t worry tbh. You should have gotten internships prior. I’m currently a full time student and a part time intern for Microsoft. If you want an engineering position, have you talked to your employer? Having internships help since most employers want people who have experience, but if you’re doing a good job and the employer recognizes you as a quality employee, ask for a 1 on 1, and discuss with him why you would be qualified for an engineering position. Edit: also, coding in an actual software engineering job is nothing like what they teach in school. If your only coding experience/knowledge comes from school, you HAVE to learn more on your own.
Hi! That completely makes sense, it's a privilege to be able to do these internships. Since you haven't had the opportunity, you could explain your situation to employers and focus on the potential you have to contribute meaningfully in the future. We've both found that often times enthusiasm, a willingness to contribute, and gratitude for what you have are great tools for getting to where you want to go. Best of luck!!
@@TheTechTwins Thank you for your input, I completely agree! I'm definitely working hard with my current position, and have gotten great feedback from supervision, so I'm confident that they'll set me up for some type of position once I graduate! Just a matter of time I suppose :)
From what we've seen, attending university and studying computer science or a related major would make you eligible for a software engineering internship at Microsoft. There may be other ways, though, that we're not aware of! Microsoft also has the Explore program for freshmen/sophomores in college to explore both software engineering and program management: careers.microsoft.com/us/en/job/650947/Internship-Opportunities-for-Students-Explore-Microsoft-Internship. Best of luck!
Microsoft is the BEST!! I live 3 HOURS AWAY from it!! I live in Portland which is not that far. Only 3 HOURS!! I'm a lucky kid to live near the Microsoft Head Quarters where they make our Technology Stuff & our XBOX's & our Video Games where I play with my boys cause Play Station sucks ass for sure & XBOX is the closest to me!! MICROSOFT NEVER DISAPPOINTS AT ALL PERIOD EVERY SINGLE DAY 48/14!!!!
I also interned at MS India and hated it. Nvidia was Okish for me. I would recommend students to go in small startups if you want to learn something. Internship in these huge tech giants will give you money but nothing else. Work is mediocre and boring.
is it desrespectufull to use a macbook there?
I wonder

I would also like to see what a typical Monday would be for him, because first days are usually exciting and memorable.

Hi! Actually, I signed a non-disclosure agreement so I can't talk about the content of the work.
There is too enjoyment in this job. Is it right
which languages do u know for microsoft
I didn’t need to know software languages because I was interning in the hardware development group.
The Tech Twins Hey! Great video. Also, I thought mechanical engineers needed to take a few programming courses.

Hi Tech, can you answer a question? What is the importance of the university degree when being chosen for the jobs in your area?
this was like 2 years ago but how high did you score on your SAT and what was your average GPA throughout highschool? If it's too confidential or anything to talk about I understand.
Dash they don't look at your SAT or GPA

So what was your position like software engineer? As mentioned in bio you are mech eng so how did you land internship at microsoft?
Yup, I worked in the devices organization as a program manager intern. MechE is relevant because that team works on the development of computers.
Do you think people can get interns @ Microsoft during high school?
Microsoft has high school interns. I’m not sure how to get it but I know there are a few.
The Tech Twins Where do you recommend to learn programming? Thanks!

Nice video.
Can you tell what was your work on a first day like which language you use and etc..
I can’t share what work I did because of confidentiality agreements, and I worked in hardware development so didn’t program at all!
