That’s some respectable amount of talent poured into a relatively obscure entry of the Dead Space series. Very compelling storytelling. Wouldn’t play this game myself (Wii, on-rails, meh), but 5 hours watch was well worth it. Thanks for the video, BuffMaister, and props for mad playing skillz.

Delta 23 yup and as a prequel it’s a really great prequel game to set up the events of dead space 1 also it’s really depressing that visceral games is gone because I love visceral games they were such a great developer in my opinion
Tevya Smolka yeah same here while dead space 3 was a step down from the first 2 games the game was still allot of fun and it was cool that they included co-op.
As for this game I really wish it had full character control like the others but I do like the found footage vibe the game gives off.

This took a way different approach from DS 1 & 2. Living through all these multiple player perspectives really hit me right in the feelz, man! Now that I'm through this I'm off to see Dead Space: Downfall ;)
you know i like how the game almost tricks you into thinking it third person from the start of the game, it got you in that camera position that looks third person only to then remember oh yeah this is a first person rail shooter

God the amount of areas you revisit in this game is amazing, it really tells an awesome narrative through the lense of the characters
Remember kids always use the medkits especailly when your safe and bleeding.

Basically yes,it also affected Nathan McNeil with the voices in his head,Gabe Weller a little bit,and even Isaac Clarke with him seeing Nicole and the "make us whole again" stuff
brickfighter 13 Strangely enough though, Isaac was unique in that the markers could never really get a hold on him like they could everyone else. Time and again they tried to break him, and every time they failed miserably. It wasn’t until the brethren moons interfered directly and began broadcasting straight into his head that he actually started to succumb. That says something.

@@Peace-Man1964 To be fair, he'd gone through some straight up hell. The marker's signal itself wasn't gonna be enough. The combination traumatized him to be sure, but he wasn't completely lost.

I love how this game perfectly sets up the events of DS1. Especially the part in the end, where you hear the incoming transmission from the U.S.G Kellion. Which has your's truly aboard. Despite the fact, that this was an on-rails shooter...I really enjoyed the story. They even have them meet Nicole...and they see the same transmission that she sends to Isaac. Overall, a great experience for the hardcore fan.
Is it just me, or was McNeil the ORIGINAL Dead Space Badass? I mean, Issac took it Up To Eleven, but still...Damn.
Feel really bad for Nate, survived until the very end, him and lexine were clearly falling for each other, and he succumbs to his wounds and turns into a necromorph. Sad end

I love Dead Space Extraction, I have never played it (due to not having a Wii) but I love the story and the characters. HOWEVER I do hate the ending (more accurately the very last attempt at a WHAM scene) since they used it as an half-assed excuse as to why a certain character isn't in the Severed DLC for Dead Space 2.
Long story short, apparently this certain character died, somehow got turned into a necromorph aboard the shuttle and got put down. How did this character die? How did this character turn into a necromorph (specially since there was no infector on the shuttle)? Who the fuck knows. They just decided (most likely retroactively) that said character died and turned because they didn't want that character around to mess up what they had planned for Severed.
Ikr I really like the protagonist of Extraction: the only P-sec officer of Aegis-II who managed to make it to Ishimura and after all those s*** he had been through the devs just decided to kill him in the end on the escape shuttle.
According to wikia, Mcneil somehow succumbed to his wounds and got turned into a slasher by Marker's signal. But Gabe said there was a medkit on the shuttle so why didn't Nate use it lol.
Btw I still couldn't believe Gabe and Lex got married in DS2 Severed. He didn't even give a damn about her in Extraction.

Why in the dead space 2 sequel to this (dead space 2 dlc) they made Gabe Weller fall in the love with Lexine Harper and they are married. They should have made it where Nate McNeill married her and that he gets a robotic arm to fight off the necromorphs on the sprawl. I'm just saying. I don't think Gabe was a good choice.

0:26 well issac in the final game minus the dlc which was an “AS IF SCENARIO” they can be stopped. Just it takes a lot of effort to end the brother moons.
It's crazy because Isaac IN THE DLC if he wasn't hallucinating, he was defeated and so are the human race. Then more and more races will end due to more convergence events and brother moons making necromorphs. Brother moons won't stop till the whole universe becomes a literal Dead Space.

What made the original so scary was what wasn't there. The erie quiet or for example when you hear a banging noise only to find a crew member smacking his head against the wall... In the other games its more just waves of necromorphs. I just love the original. The opening is like an amazing movie.

@@cvsthephantomtubes8668 not at all. Dead space 2's opening was great but the original stayed very spooky throughout the whole game. The 2nd had more action, for example when you were chased through the hallway/maintenance shaft by the bigger infected.

Another thing when you shoot the necromorphs are you killing humans, or are the ones that look like humans really the necromorphs because one way or another every one is infected with the marker signal so you see what its wants you to see, it influences you to do what it wants right to spread convergence by killing your own kind, what do you guys think ?

Not exactly,it was actually Nathan McNeil succumbing to his wounds which caused him to turn into a necromorph,Lexine however at the very last second grabbed a gun and killed the necromorphed Nathan McNeil

I feel like Weller sounds like Jack and Mcneill sounds like yusi from yugioh 5ds or Issac
BuffMaister I subscribed to your channel because you are playing one of the greatest survival horror games ever created on the wii and the PS3 anyway the necromorphs to me are more powerful in this one then in the other three dead space games because in the other dead special games you'd have to only shot 2 of there limbs to kill them but in this one you have to shot 3 or 4 limbs until they stay dead even the marker is more powerful in this one to me to☺.
William Folwell Shryock Cooke They probably made the necro's stronger here because It's a rail shooter game. DS 1/2 wasn't that difficult even on impossible mode. The Plasma gun is just to overpowered, and by far the best weapon in the game :s.

The other dead space games are incredible easy. Look at DS1. I finished it on hard (can't go higher without finishing it first. dumb feature) and I had everything upgraded fully literally, 4 weapons, rig, stasis and had like 1k+ ammo for the pulse rifle and 100-200 shots for the plasma cutter and so on, EZ
Glad Dead Space 2 greatly regulated that.
In DS3 they are all far far harder cause its a coop-focused COD instead of a game sadly
@@BuffMaister It sounds like you didn't play enough. Seeker rifle is the best. Good ammo drop and one shots non black enemies with one shot to the body. I don't get this constant plasma cutter praise. It's ok at best. Most of the guns are better than plasma cutter.

I never got a chance to play this but this seems like really fucking cool. I love how its from the start of a marker out break and you are forced to go through all of the insanity that follows a marker going active. the necromorphs are horrifying ofcourse but the worst is having to gun down your own co-workers while they're still human and just insane and aiming to kill you. that personally is the worst.

I noticed you never use the Ripper. Is it way under powered for this game? It is one of the most powerful weapons in all of Dead Space if you know how to use it. I can easily kill multiple necromorphs with a single blade. It also keeps a buffer zone between you and the attacking hordes.

+supplanter law It's a side effect while having the hack option to Texture. You can fix it by changing it on RAM, but that drops FPS.

chronitized They say 1 Infector got on the ship and infects 1 of the guys. It attacks Lexine, and she pulls the trigger which probably killed the Necromorph.
BuffMaister Actually, the Slasher was McNeil, who was probably infected when that big monster impaled his arm
Corporal Bigglesworth That could also be it, but normally when someone goes through a transformation it has to be injected by the Infector. if you pause during those scenes you can actually see a Infector there infecting 1 of them unless those scenes are from something else.

Because it’s an lovecraftian story. Basically just the fact that something as abominable as the marker exists prove that all of humanity will eventually die. And even a minor victory such as destroying the marker likely won’t matter as the marker stores it’s information in survivors brains and make them rebuild it.

It truly is amazing just how many events can happen over the course of a few hours. Often times in our every day life you don’t think about how quickly time passes, and the sheer volume one can get done during that time. Video games are the biggest example of this, though often it’s exaggerated like with Batman Arkham knight.

Emulator glitches / fixes.
1. Bottom Graphic bug: Can be solved by changing the Hacks - Texture to RAM, but the performance could drop if you do that.
2. Use secondary gun attacks: Set a key in Tilt. It will register as you hold the Wii Mote sideways to perform the secondary attacks.
3. Glowing Worm. Set 2 keys on Swing
4. Rock Saw. Config Nunchuk swing to use.
5. Sometimes the emulator crashes as you enter a door, where a event is about to happen (rarely tho). Advise to save state now n then if it happens.
6. Sometimes the audio desyncs.
