Also why they give soulstone to dps? instead to have it on tank who got adds :D So many mistakes they made also unholy DK can't use skeleton army in first phase, because blood DK who got adds won't agro it through that army

Still giganerfed. 20% less HP, also I swear the damage of boss looks to be nerfed as well. That magmaw kill should have been a wipe at 40% or earlier
looks good after magmaw, when i was playing there was always problem with not enough mana from healers and not enough dps, funny thing is that i got replaced (druid tank) for a blood DK, who was top of healing done on top of what i was doing, trully balanced class, but that guild only was capable of killing magmaw, omnotron wasn't possible

I had similar expiriance with guild . Cata was the casual/dad guild killer. Heck hc dungeons were too hardfor a lot of people at the start
At the end of the video, you explained the shadowflame / rooting mechanics well, and it took about 3 minutes ... and when asked why you did not explain it previously, to the raiders, you said that you did not want to waste time explaining to people who did not already know. However, if you are going to put together a raid of pretty much random players, you have to assume that they do not know. So by not "wasting time" for 3 minutes to explain the mechanics to them, you in fact ironically wasted about an hour wiping. I understand that patience is thin after doing this content a million times previously, but if you recruit random players, and then do not explain mechanics, you are setting yourself up for a lot of wasted time wiping :-( Love your videos
He is doing it for content. Don't sign up to an asmon raid if you want to actually do anything productive with your time.

I full cleared it as the only pug in a raid group guild group that had been raiding in wrath but never actually played cata, RL went down the list of every single thing everyone was doing and each fight we killed with no real wipe prog besides nefarian who is actually hard
The problem is the content is 12 year old, tons of videos of povs and guides the information is there. The people could just see a video and try to undertans the fight or not even thst, just read the book of the mechsnics in game but I think is too much to así before joning a raid cuz people dont play to be better or the best they just wanna "chill " and whatever happens or a carry mind set

Remember he is a content creator first and foremost. He NEEDS to pug this and NEEDS to be seen suffering by his viewers. This isn’t a tutorial, nobody want to watch a super successful raid

I'm not that hype about Cata, but I don't really see the point this video is trying to make. You have a completely uncoordinated raid, led by a guy who remembers half of the mechanics and who does comms on stream delay. That they even killed the first boss under those conditions is testament to this stuff, at least on normal, really not being hard.
It’s just rage bait for all the 35yr old classic doomers that watch his react content and haven’t played wow in 15 years. Normal is a joke even with pugs, his stream just attracts some of the worst most casual players and this video is only proof of that
@@vaxxeenmtg9733I think that’s the point he’s trying to make. The casuals of WoW can’t even do a raid on normal difficulty. That’s a huge problem for the game in the long run considering casuals make up the majority of the player base.
"Casual" for teens and college kids is hardmode for gamer dads who also have to pass the IRL raid of trying to hide from their wife and kids long enough to play.

@@KimiRai208 this is the nerfed version of the raid. We did these raids unnerfed on way shittier PCs, way shittier internet 15 years ago. I cleared the tiers on heroic on a laptop with 5mpbs down. No wowhead guides for optimization. It took wiping and progression and it was fun. The thing is we have all those tools now, so now there’s no excuse for people to suck. If every game has to be dumbed down to LFR level then what’s the point. People hated and still hate LFR yet asmon sits here spawning more people who just want LFR but don’t want to admit it.

What about people who can't take 5 min to watch a vid on all the raid bosses from a 14 year old raid to get an idea of what to do instead of just expecting someone else to explain it to them so that they don't wipe the group?
You ever have someone hire at your job and they don't bother AT ALL to try and learn anything? Show up late, still takes a minute to finish their/food drink before they clock in, goes to their position and just does the most half assed lazy job with no care or pride. Feels like you end up reteaching them the same shit you teach them every shift you work with them? They never ask questions about how to do things better / right?

A raid, much like a machine, works best when all of its parts are doing what they're supposed to be doing. If you're doing 10 man content, and 2 of your dps are under the tank, would you just continue wiping to the same dumb shit or would you speak up? Ima speak up my guy.
I don't want to be the guy every week fucking up the mechanics, forcing the group to wipe and wasting everyone elses time. Maybe you're okay with that. I'm not.

Not "killed" because it has to be dead already for that to make sense. Wow is not anywhere near dead as it is. Slowly dying? Yes. Dead? No.
This. I played since late BC and I also think Cataclysm was when WoW quality first took a SERIOUS dip down.
I personally think Pandaria wasn't as bad as many people see it, though it was still a far cry from how it was before.
And ever since then... Yeah.
Cataclysm was fine. We were able to return to Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms from that distant high level only sandboxes of Outland and Northrend. Pandaria and Dreanor was trash though.

Cataclysm was when the game started to feel worse to play. Not sure exactly why. It wasn't disasterous though, just felt worse than before.
In MoP the game became good again, one of the best expansions imo. The PvP felt great due to the "ability bloat" and Throne of Thunder is probably the best raid Blizzard ever has done. Draenor was the first expansion that was outright garbage and the real downfall of WoW.
Legion was an amazing expansion and on par with the other great ones. But after Legion it all just fell apart. Everything released since has been mediocre at best if not outright uninspiring and boring.

Because everyone’s been done with phase 3 for weeks. There is literally nothing to do other than farm gold like a zombie.
I almost joined this group when they raided yesterday. I inspected like 4--5 people and knew it was going to be a shit show.
If it was a Horde pug good chance would have done it. Though still surprised that Classic has not added cross faction raiding yet like Retail.
Asmon failed as RL in several aspects : healer assignment, raid cooldown rotation, clear task assignment.
you can just assume people will do exactly what needs to be done in PUG raid , when they never killed (or maybe they did 10 years ago)
Raids on normal are not that hard , but with randoms puting together (checking only ilvl) and not really leading them you simply can fail. And that is ok. Nefarian should not just fall over , because random unprepared group shows up.
I'm om you side to an extend he def should have done more especially with how bad the group was doing but as someone who has already cleared the content and raid lead everything from pugs to gdkps to guild runs it easily adds an hour to a run just explaining fights and it's really not that hard to spend a few mins watching a tldr guide on the fights. There are obviously some things that need to be pre decided in every raid but it's just better to get the important things out pull it and see what needs to be done to make it a better pull. Some level of minium effort has to be there though you don't deserve to clear the content if you just expect to show up know nothing and get carried or be the cause of the failure of the group imo.
Watching asmon play wow makes me nostalgic and sad
Honrstly cata is a hidden gem and we didn't know what we had back in the day. This is what vanilla + should feel like. Fleshed out classes, balanced pvp, gearing system that allows you to have a job and still be competitive, and some nice way of life changes that gets rid of useless down time. Been having more fun on cata than i did for all of classic vanilla.
Pvp was the only thing that got me through cata. Leveling 1 to max took no time compared to the classics and I wasn't a raidlogger.
I wouldnt say it's what vanilla+ should be, but it did have some aspects you'd wanna see in it possibly
@@apensalesman yeah the leveling pace is what makes it feel rewarding. You can actually finish characters and play alts.
@@ProjectpvpProduction That's fair. To me it feels less rewarding. I get done in no time flat and go "...cool I guess this is end game". Just searching for groups in my finder, doing some pvp and existing. Before it felt rewarding to finish a character. Now it's just kinda a basic function.
@@apensalesman yeah I can agree, but only the first time. After that it's super tedious and basically impossible unless you no life. Not to mention a vast majority of the community agrees even if they hate to say it. Most players who actually put time in the game did everything they could to skip past that. In classic vanilla, everyonnneeee and their mother dungeon spammed or bought a mage boost. At least now you have time to try other things or hone your skills on your main via pvp.

Honestly I liked Cata as a whole. The only things that really pissed me off was LFR and Dragon Soul
I hated grinding and dailys, it got worse in cata after wotlk

I hated all the changes to talents and world from Cata. But it was the first time I really enjoyed running heroics (pre nerf). Was so much fun not being tank and spank and actually having to use coordinated cc.
NOTE: I haven’t watched this video yet.. but with the title I will say this.
Cata prob has the most active player base cause we were all 16-24 during this time and the content wasn’t “here’s free gear”

@@Arthur_Grey34 cata raids are not that hard if you just learn the mechanics. You don't need DBM. but he doesn't even try. It's not like the raids in the recent expansions
As a reference the cata beta surpassed all classic betas in player involvment. On top of that it has more logs recorded in the first two weeks then any phase of any expansion before it. The numbers say it for themselves cata is the most popular classic expansion so far and its really not even close.
as a vanila player i am glad to still have those good old memories from not playing rereleased classic good old times
To be fair, that 1st tier raid content from Cata was also the hardest of that expansion in my opinion.
The shoulder and pants don't stack from my observation. I usually keep the shoulders a stun and the pants as a shield or damage increases.
Damn classic raids finally have mechanics. Game ruined. You cant expect wotlk fanboys to both do mechanics and press multiple buttons for their rotations.
But these are the same people who reminisce about the "hard content" being gated in og vanilla. If cataclysm killed classic then good, classic was trash. Time for the 3 good expansions.

Many old school players (the majority of classic players, in other words) agree that Cataclysm isn't "classic", as it's the expansion that changed a lot of the vanilla world and leveling experience.
What is considered the classic era of WoW is vanilla, TBC, and Wrath.
I get some people loved Cata, and are really happy with this. Glad Blizzard did this.... BUT
They should have Classic through TBC and WotLK on a rolling server rest loop sort of thing. 15 months per expansion perhaps. 4 year cycles ( a few months at the end for catch up)
Because for me the game ended with Cata. I know others disagree and prefer Cata. More power to you. But many people Cata was the end.
So now "Classic" WoW is forcing us to play "none Classic WoW" or leave the game altogether (Not a fan of SoD either)

This would be really cool to see. Blizzard is well capable of doing this. I have recently joined pservers myself. This constant meta driven theme is getting old. I'm a casual MMORPG gamer, and the RPG aspect is long gone.

I used to be on PVPRP server, and developing the global combat system, the destructibility of the world, create a more fluid world where factions actually have to maintain control of regions and zones in order for their faction to do raids? Or some other game mechanic.
Isn't just abusing a frost DK the best strat still for Magmaw? like run those spawns out, DK Howling Blast and kites the hell out of them with the slow talent. unless they made them slow immune. :x Feels like that extra work of having DPS waste time killing spawns that can be kited around by one dps being a damn bait just makes magmaw basically a dummy target.
I've said it before and Everytime i get white knights defending him... Asmongold is a mediocre player at BEST. Dude has good takes and is entertaining to watch, but in every game I've seen him play he's just "meh"

1:57:30 in with the crash, That one specifically drove me nuts with my new PC and I finally found the solution. Please Please Please read this.
The solution to the crash is because having a 13900K CPU, I had the exact thing happen and took a while to figure out it was that specific.
Using Intel Extreme Tuning Utility and just change the Performance Core and Efficient Core Ratios down just by 1 each. Its a WoW issue with 13900K specifically.
I never had a single crash after that with WoW again.
Yeah I'm a bit dissapointed as well.
Not only is it full of bugs still, but it's optimised like absolute dogshit.
People are saying they removed AI upscaled textures. They didn't. They removed the option..the update is mandatory.
One of the biggest selling points of classic for me was the ability to re-experience an old game on newer hardware with minimal performance impacts.
Now sitting in orgrimmar (a densely populated orgrimmar) my fps tanks from 150+ in Wrath, now it's under 50fps standing near the AH/Bank.
After some trial & error trying to fix the issue, disabling add-ons, emptying cache and deleting wtf folder/GPU software update. Nothing fixes it.
I was able to contact a GM & they explained the pre-patch upscaled the textures by somewhat 16x more and that's the culprit.
Otherwise my fps remains similar to Wrath, until the area is populated again.
I never thought a 15+ year old game being re-released would prompt me to want to upgrade my PC again.
What the fuck blizzard. Retail is running more smoothly than this shit now.

Its so strange to see blizzard going Expansion with Expansion back to the same old overtuned Trash everybody hated like not even trying to come up with something and even more dense are the people who buy it, almost depressing to think that its first 3 expansion were the peak and after that its a soulless game with a shit story for years and years to come. Now they got like 5 different WoW 's and still its all dogshit. Atleast private servers have some type of different machanics or instances. Blizz was like" Nah...let em play that shit all over again"

Ranged dps sleeping, melee shouldn't swap to kill it and lose dps... It has quite low hp, though this group had pretty shitty ranged dps overall... Tanks were probably the most awful part, as a former raid leader i know how much it sucks when the tank is so inexperienced and nervous they probably literally are shaking on their chair ignoring ALL commands or advices he is given by the leader. Asmon said to main tank to move Nefarion several time on several attemps from flames, he NEVER did. The off-tanks were also tarded, i could solo tank the adds with my dk, the issue is noob tanks cannot handle collecting more than 1-3 things at maximum at the same time. In cata all tanks already had nice aoe spells to gain aoe+a spell to hit far away targets. They struggle to click the enemy/just using Tab button to scroll through to get to the one you aren't having aggro on and use any spell/taunt to collect it. Also healers were trash, asmon should've give healer for each tank and assign raid healer (+that elemental shaman they had was trash in dps should just maybe go healing and tell them to just heal raid, if they had enough mp/5 on their off spec gear, also that shaman healer they already had was terrible at playing their class and spec already)

Cata is when wow stopped being wow, as far as im concerned. Im actually pretty surprised they saw reason to re-release it in classic.
Dude cata so far has been a blast, and I literally formed a guild with 3 ten man teams in the last 10 days only, and all 3 teams cleared BWD last night, none of us are hardcore players.

That's when I also quit... During Cata. I was a Prot War OT, and after 5 days of failed attempts using a pally MT, they asked if I could tank? We 1-shot 5 bosses with me as MT. But, when Prot war gear dropped...they gave it to the failed pally. I never raided with them again and they begged me. When they asked why I told them. I joined another guild and we all got geared up.
They were so appreciative and happy. Shortly after I quit WoW. I started playing WoW when MC did not have Ragnoros.
Looks familiar. He is exactly right though. The raids were so hard you couldn't do them with your friends. The worst person in the group will keep the whole raid from progressing. They were tuned so tight.

Havent played wow in over 5 years. Personally i think they shouldve stayed with vanilla tbc and wotlk. Every xpack after wotlk shouldnt be re released

@@Blackstar-ti4py omnitron, filters dumbass that don't know when to stop dps, magmaw filter dumbasses that just around everywhere, chimearon filters dumbasses that don't know what range is and healers that don't coordinate their cds, maloriak filters out dumbasses that can't position boss/ add and can't coordinate interupts,atramedes filters out dumbasses that can't dodge for shit, and nefarian filters out all sort of dumbasses (include this one who says adds need to be rooted when in reality you just need a good tank kite them on nef flank and pop a phew defensives until they die, rince and repeat)
and this is just one raid, pretty much everything else you have to use 10% of your brain and not just stand and hit.

Nope. The point of classic was for us to be able to play the old expansions that we loved that we can't play anymore.
The fact people are still touching anything Activision related today is a bigger shock.

Cata didn't kill anything except for people who can't do mechanics. If you want to face roll raids without doing mechanics, vanilla servers are still out there.
Yeah raids kinda hard instantly, specially heroics. Some people seems to not understand how this works, it’s like you actually need decent reaction now. Need to lock in.
Normal is kind of just lust and kill boss bro, but the number of mental flatliners or ppl just lacking xp make it harder

To me there has been 4 major leaps :
BC => The devs understood players were not here for the role play but to optimise the shit out of everything, so they balanced the classes better and made harder content.
Cata => The game was simplified in terms of character personalisation but made "harder" in terms of mecanics. Also the lore is now mostly unrelated to the warcraft RTS anymore.
Legion => Classes were modernised and made harder to master, the arm race between moders and raid designer made everything significantly more complexe.
BFA => Everything is now a daily or a time-gated progression.
Some stuff were not done over a single expansion, like we could argue WoD already had the "you can't raid without add-ons" problem before Legion, but the point is : I think you'll find some people claiming the game is still feels like classic up to Legion included, just because the last major shit change was BFA when some already stopped at BC.
@@ecarlate59700 Brother if you think legion class rework made the classes harder to master I'd suggest you get back in the wheelchair. A cata/mop spec has 3 times the complexity if any legion spec. Also cataclysm is classic. It's just classic with good class design and good raid content.

The next step past WoW? Retain a professional staff of paid NPC who participate in the game and function with players and other human controlled NPC. On a server, have paid GM to administer and facilitate specific storylines.

I love asmon as a streamer and a content creator, but he has really let himself go in terms of WoW. He needs to realise this, not only is he bitching and moaning about a raid thats actually really easy, but he just cant accept the fact that pugging a uncoordinated raid is just not gonna steamroll normal. Give it a couple weeks and people usually knows what to do, hell he doesnt even know what to do, he needs to stop shifting blame and accept that he is just making himself miserable doing shit, while also looking like a fool complaining about stuff that could be easily avoided with a little bit of effort.
Isn't that part of his appeal though? I love watching Asmon raids for the carnage, I hope they wipe.

I started playing wow in march and always heard the veteran youtubers and streamers talk about how raiding and dungeons were so difficult and how it was very unapproachable by new players, and it made me very scared of trying to do raids and I tried to avoid them as much as I could.
BUT
Literally 4 hours into cataclysm and every single boss was already killed in my server, and after only 1 week people were already looking for groups to farm spam the raids and dungeons, including myself.
I think the fact these people got last expansion lvl gear, no consumables and only play once per month has probably more impact on them turbo wiping nonstop rather than the raid being actually hard.

As a casual pug I got intemidated watching the Nefarian fight. But then I remember Asmon's 4 hour attempt at Gruul and now I'm chill
No caps, no good reforges, no prebis gear, not even play his rotation properly, do less damage than tanks, doesn't explain boss mechanics, doesn't even use a BWD weakaura or DBM, doesn't even read the dungeon journal to understand what he has to do, but he belives he can lead a pug group on week 1 on a pretty hard raid and oneshot everything.

I feel ya . It also sucks depending on 24 other people to be competent . I know I play my class/role well but even one smoothbrain can cause a wipe . I mean shit even OG classic/vanilla is like that on some fights . . Heroic raids are fun but god damn do they get daunting when it’s the same people making mistakes over and over again lol
25 man is easier to cheese if you have at least 19 competent players to carry the rest. I’m glad my guild is doing 10mans instead. Three 10 man teams are already moving into heroic modes and the 25man team still can’t get passed atremedes cause too many people are dead from the neck up.
@@HelloYersoGaenah same level of losing a player basically screws you on alot of the dps checks on the bosses that matter. There is a reason that they have the same number of completions roughly yet a vast majority of the best players focus on 25m and not 10.
