Thanks for the detailed breakdown! I've had the Vankyo V600 since 2019 and it still works great but I think I want to upgrade. I like the screen mirroring because it's something I use to use a lot with my Samsung TVs. I think I'm going with the V630W so I saved those settings you used. I subbed for the great content.
I somehow managed to miss your last video and order a v630, so I'm going down the same rabbit hole with the refresh rate and latency. Weird that those issues were improved in the W, someone on the Vankyo forum said that the hardware was identical other than the Wifi chip. If that's the case, there might be hope for a firmware update that fixes the v630, though people have been asking for one since it's release, and mostly have gotten the same useless response. Gotta love that Vankyo's video on firmware updates shows a v630 being updated, then denying that it needs an update in the comments...
UP-DATE> This projector seems to only work with a 2.0 USB flash drive. Because two different 3.0 USB flash drives wouldn't work. I bought 2.0 USB to try; download the same videos on the 2.0 flash drive and "voilà" !!!!!!!! Works like a charm!!
@@Schwing27 It's really great. I have a very small living room, so I got a 92 in screen, and it fits perfectly. It's not the best projector, but for the price, it's very good. I can't wait for darkness every day now, so I can watch a movie on the big screen. Definitely worth the price.

Why do you say point to point aspect ratio gives better picture quality? I find point-to- point washes out the image a great deal on the V630W. Switching from point-to-point to 16:9 yields about the same image difference that you showed in the comparison with the V630. Thanks for the video.

I also own the leisure 3 which I was not too impressed with, but used it for 4 months before wanting an budgeted upgrade. Hence, the purchase of v620. I’m now nervous tho because of lack of reviews. V700 is out now and I've been trying to get an answer from vankyo on the MS response time. They wouldn't directly answer, either the person didn't know or was beating around the bush but they did say it was the better performer to the v600 so I'd have to assume response time is better and of course a brighter image with better colors..I want to pull the trigger but no one has a review on it yet and I'd want to casually game on it so it couldn't be any worse than the v600 or it's not worth it.
I will try to get in touch with them and see if they are willing to send one in for review. They are not going to tell you in what aspect its "Better" V600 vs V630 it went a couple steps forward and a couple backwards. I don't find anyone else doing response time test for gaming, so I guess Ill let you know if its going to show up on this channel any time soon. Don't get the V600, just wait till you find something better for gaming. Hope this helps
Still a nice projector but it's loud and no built in android, and it's kinda heavy. The new projectors have these features now, I have not reviewed any super recent ones but I have enjoyed using the Alston Z3, see if it's within your price bracket.
I've found that setting on the Vilinice projector (point to point-sucks! it softens the image DULLS the colors and seems to reduce the sharpness way too much-hard to believe this would be the prefered setting on a Vankyo? As the two projectors are NOT radically different?). Point to Point is the worst setting I've ever seen on any projector. I do believe that this is a resolution of last resort for laptop connections that might be inputting through the VGA connection?
I got both V630 and V630W... V630 quality of image is very good as you said and pretty much working well.. But on V630W, I could see lot of lag between audio and video... What's the problem with V630W.. not seen this issue with V630..

Hi, yes It does, theres a trapdoor under the black label where you can clean with a large cotton swab those black spots (dust) in the projector screen, I was cleaning mine like two days ago and it make a whole new image, it was dirtier that I thought

50,000 hours. I love LED! from 2005-2012 I used to have to change lamps every 6 mos. With LED by the time it gets to 50k hours you will want a newer projector anyways.

Prices Look Good "Resolution" Also sounds good when it says 1080p Except when going in to check the native resolution is usually 1024x768 Then you could have a dusty projector or something with a scratched lens But honestly they might not be all that bad, I just have to get my hands on one once I'm free

Interesting. I don't have a Vankyo but similar Bomaker and Vilinice projectors and point to point is absolutely HORRIBLE on those. Unwatchable. Muddy, too soft and loses all detail. Almost like watching less than 720P rather than 1080P. Not sure WHY that should be a good setting on the Vankyo since these projectors are VERY VERY similar?
Can't get 32 gb USB stick to play my MP4 files. I formatted the flash drive to FAT32. Set the projector to USB; the screen comes up for movies, music, photos and Text. When I click on movies nothing happens, no files show to pick from on USB. Any help would be appreciated!
@@LifeKommando That is a no-brainer; had it in the right USB slot. Tried another USB stick with music, same thing happened. The Roku stick worked flawlessly!!!

Well that's sad, other than movies I'm hoping to use this for some murals. Is this a good idea? Also worried because some people say this projector burns out easily, aka wholes in image? Can this be prevented?
Not sure if any giving positive reviews have any projectors experience bought this to try and replace a sanyo plc from 2005 thaught this would blow it out of the water but not even close the sanyo running on dying lamp still looked better can't even give this garbage away to my 15 year old cousin lol he said he didn't want to go blind looking at a blurry image very dark lol.Specs are lies lies!
Not sure why he thought the 630 looked better than the 630v. It looked much worse. The contrast is all messed up. Too dark in those images he showed. The 630v looked much cleaner and more natural looking.
I think the perception works similar to instagram filters, for example. It makes you feel like those saturated high contrast pictures are better than more "bland" pics (even though these have higher level of detail). The thing is you can set higher contrast and stronger colours on V630W, but might not be able to match the details it offers with the other projector.
I dont like mine its gonna go in the bin no matter how much i mess with all the setting and ive watch lots of videos on setting all the colors and all the rest of the settngs well no matter what i do my screen is always green so im throwing it in the bin as im dine the color is shocking so ile buy a cheaper 1 with dif brand name like what i had before vankyo and the cilor is miles better
I just bought the V630 but was not happy with the brightness. I think they send me a used unit. Anyone else having issues with the brightness of the V630? it says 6000 lumens but my screen is pretty dark even in the night.
If the video is 60 fps you will get 60 fps just like any regular screen. The original V630 was only able to display up to 24 fps even if you give it a 60 fps signal with 60 fps video

Maybe recent models have changed something, but p2p gives accurate proper not exaggerated colors, whites have less of a red tint.

Mine developed a brown spot from over heating within 2 months of casual use. Vankyo needs to work on the cooling of this projector.

Not sure if any giving positive reviews have any projectors experience bought this to try and replace a sanyo plc from 2005 thaught this would blow it out of the water but not even close the sanyo running on dying lamp still looked better can't even give this garbage away to my 15 year old cousin lol he said he didn't want to go blind looking at a blurry image very dark lol.Specs are lies lies!
Not sure why he thought the 630 looked better than the 630v. It looked much worse. The contrast is all messed up. Too dark in those images he showed. The 630v looked much cleaner and more natural looking.
I think the perception works similar to instagram filters, for example. It makes you feel like those saturated high contrast pictures are better than more "bland" pics (even though these have higher level of detail).
The thing is you can set higher contrast and stronger colours on V630W, but might not be able to match the details it offers with the other projector.

I dont like mine its gonna go in the bin no matter how much i mess with all the setting and ive watch lots of videos on setting all the colors and all the rest of the settngs well no matter what i do my screen is always green so im throwing it in the bin as im dine the color is shocking so ile buy a cheaper 1 with dif brand name like what i had before vankyo and the cilor is miles better

I just bought the V630 but was not happy with the brightness. I think they send me a used unit. Anyone else having issues with the brightness of the V630? it says 6000 lumens but my screen is pretty dark even in the night.
Maybe you got a lemon or the settings are wrong. Return it for a different one.
Vankyo is known for superb customer service. You should be reaching out to them first, UA-camrs second if you don't get taken care of.

If the video is 60 fps you will get 60 fps just like any regular screen. The original V630 was only able to display up to 24 fps even if you give it a 60 fps signal with 60 fps video
