i think the reporter has gone crazy calling such a tiny airport with small arrival and departures halls big ones ... I think it's one of the smallest airport in india with only one baggage belt . Our ludhiana bus stand and railway station is much much bigger then this small airport ... Even the approach road towards airport and terminal are narrow enough to handle ludhiana traffic ... The roads should be four lane towards airport and terminal for up and down traffic .

They are calling it "domestic" airport meaning no international flights. I dont understand this logic of domestic airport only? Why not make a big international airport with such a potential? Also what is the purpose of Halwara "domestic" airport when there is already existing Sahnewal domestic airport? Why not expand or imporve its capacity?

@@khalsasikhpunjabda Firstly you are right that why not big international airport as ludhiana is the biggest city and situated in the center of punjab so ever city will get benefit from it . Secondly sahnewal airport runway is so small that only small planes can land there but even a airbus 319 or 320 can't land there . Thirdly sahnewal airport can't be expanded due to non availability of land and due to construction of factories and city nearby airport . Fourth reason is construction of airport at halwara is important because halwara airport runway is so big that any kind of big airplane can land there and they have extra land also to construct airport .

All I heard was that only boundary wall is pending rest all work completed for a huge international airport. There were news of Indian Airforce reluctant to allow its runway being a premier fighter airbase. I was expecting something big but what I see is a tiny mini domestic terminal with no work complete. Disappointing.

as in heard in a news this is a temporary terminal being built first, once the operation starts then a new big building is going to be constructed. I think they should have made a big building in the first place
