- Just had Covid, where did that come from ! Fortunately its over quick, but lets see how hard its hit the fitness. Back at the track for a staple 10x800s session.

I’m watching that driving from airport to Dublin City centre - half marathon here tomorrow :)
After virus infection it’s good to recover for like a week before tough accents, take care of yourself, I hope you’ll be in very good shape on 1st December in Valencia!

@@kennyosborne5835 arrr terrible. I pilled on the vitamin d and c to get over it as quick as possible. Might have worked or just a placebo, but either way it went fast 😂

Matt, sorry to hear about your Covid and hope you recover fully. Incredible workout and shows your strength even when not feeling 💯. Yeah, I'm also surprised how sensitive my VO2 max is to workouts.
@@RunFreeandStrong thanks Reto. Colds and other illness don't hit the vo2 hard at all, Covid the little rascal does the worst damage though. But could have been alot worse, I'm counting my blessings 😃😃
@@RunThePlanet sorry, pls allow me to clarify, for me if I race and therefore taper and then recover, and then don't do a workout for a couple of weeks, my VO2 max drops lol.
@@RunFreeandStrong yeah it's up and down a bit from time to time, wouldn't it be nice if it never went down 😃
Matt, if you only use your HR monitor for faster efforts, VO2 max will fluctuate more than if you use it all the time.
@@conradburdekin7638 appreciate your input but my experience is different. Ill do 1 or 2 runs a week where I measure vo2 , the others not. Its pretty consistently steady, that's why I don't test the slow runs (to me the system should be able to work out your vo2 accurately for all runs but it is what it is for today) Have you done a lab test, it's good fun ?
What half tights do you use? I had my first experience of chafing last weekend and it was NASTY so I'm thinking that my short shorts need to be replaced with half tights. But I'm a newbit at those!
@@conradburdekin7638 I use the combat saysky ones quite a bit. I prefer the Nike aeroswift but frustratingly they don't have side side pockets. And in the UK we seems to only get 1 colour 😂
