HO versions of the 'Re-Railer' have been around since the 60's...guess the design and manufacturing folks figured that getting tinplate trucks on tubular rail was so easy that No Help Is Needed..!
OMG! A speedloader for O Gauge. I wouldn't know whether to use it on my layout or take it to the pistol range!😂
Thanks for this great visit to the Greenburg Train Show, Dave. Always liked the shows when I could get to them. Sorry to hear this one was a little disappointing. Thanks for taking the time.
Idk, last train show I went to I found a set with the postwar 2055 from 1953 with all the cars, a lot of O-27 track and all the original cars plus two extra random MPC ones, for $30. Asked the seller if he was sure, and he was like "yeah all the rust and such" and yeah all the cars were rusted af, but the loco was fine and the wheels turned.
Two days later had the entire set tore down and restored. The 2055 is the pride of my collection, and I am SO glad I made a random second pass to just look at stuff for fun.
And the postwar EP5 that was listed as "for parts only, doesn't run" for $80, that I haggled down to $50 if I also bought other parts from the guy too for my little 50 gang car, just needed a little bit of cleaning on the wheels and motor and off she ran. Yeah it was a huge victim of battery acid leaking everywhere, destroying the horn solenoid, and the shell was destroyed on one end, but I patched that hole up and cleaned up all the rust and repainted both ends, looks great, runs (we will leave it there, it's tempermental), and another loco off my postwar bucket list. Also came with a brand new resin printed shell, so I might paint it into a PC paintjob, a what if the NYC or PRR had one, or my fictional road.
It's crazy what you can find at trainshows, the collectors buy the pristine stuff and scoff at the junk, I scoff at the pristine stuff with no signs of any use and DROOL over the stuff that very clearly has been played with hard, forgotten, and found last week in someone's attic.
I need to find more postwar stuff to work on, I miss doing it. I would love to do it for other people, but I would probably get too attatched and just buy it from them lol.
Very nice. I haven't been to a Greenberg show, since we used to set-up our modular at the Great Train And Dollhouse show in Monroeville. We've all been there, as far as losing out on something that we wanted, because we've him-hawed around. I've lost out on a pre-war Lionel Slot Car Set and an American Flyer Burlington Zephyr in the last couple of years, mainly because I wanted a set of AMT passenger cars, which rarely sell to anyone other than we AMT collectors. I went home with the AMT cars, but not the Zephyr or slot cars. Oh, well. Either way, good job on that passenger car and that 'railing' device doodad. An excellent video, as always.
So many awesome train engines 🚂👍
Nice additions Dave. 😊
And at a great price. Enjoy!
Hi Dave! I thought this show was small in size as well. It was great seeing you and Nick at the show. Nice finds!
Cool Dave! Keep enjoying your trains!
Very enjoyable to watch...thanks Dave ! 👍
Fun video Dave, and that was a great score on that Pullman car! The layour tours were fun and I just loved those helixes with the PCC cars on 'em! What a riot!
Yeah, no surprise the summer show is a little sparse on exhibitors, that usually seems to be the case although this hellish heat wave we've had on the East Coast may have kept some away. The high fuel costs wouldn't have helped either.
Anyway, we've got a Greenberg show coming this way in August at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly VA. I'll be heading to that one myself, it'll be a nice day out but if it's a so-so affair as far as exhibitors it may be the last summer show I go to in that area. I don't mind the drive but the traffic up there is getting crazy.
Thanks for posting!
Those are sharp looking Pullman cars Dave! Now all you need is a commandor Vanderbilt to go with the. I used to have the observation car Pullman when I was younger
It would stand to reason an indoor thing like toy trains gives way to outdoor nice things to do in summer months. People will be think more about and attending toy train events after the summer has passed.
Love the Lackawana passenger car. Had a good time as always. Definitely less sellers and people there.
Nice and cool budget haul you got from the show! I hope you had fun there btw I bet there are some nice layouts there!
Nice varied video thanks for sharing
I was wondering what you had 😂. I was leaving when you were with Nick😂
Looks like it was a great show. I’m glad you bought some nice budget items. I have to make it to that show again, I’ve only been there once.
Great video coverage as usual Dave! 👍
Sweet score Dave!
Great video Dave!!
Dave, I enjoyed your video presentation. I'm curious how many vendors returned home with trains they wished had sold. Vendors should drop their prices. Because it seems like a hard pitch to sell trains in July? I liked the variety of gauges of club layouts. And your videography is excellent. If the box smells like mildew, it's challenging, but it is possible to eliminate a mildew smell from paper. And may take a long time to cure. Black mold is impossible. Anyway, you shape newspaper sheets into very loose, crumpled paper. Immersing it into a lot of paper and surround the box and newspaper into a plastic bag, and close off the bag. And the paper should absorb the smell. Drying the smelly box in the hot sun may help. But it's difficult if it's humid.
Just came across this video .... Subscribed!!!! 👍
Awesome! Welcome aboard!
Sounds like I missed a good show
Is that a Niagara Falls 'scale' pullman? It looks kind of big!
👍🏻💫💫💫💫💫
What make were those 2 switchers? Love them. Need info.
Do you by any chance have the contact info for the guy selling the croc at 10:30?
