Great job on the bathroom corner trim. I am a 56 y/o single female remodeling her home. I had zero knowledge in the beginning. I've learned tiling, miter cutting, laying flooring, everything from videos like yours. I too am saving money where I can refurbish and reuse when able. You guys are doing a great job!!!
Cynthia It's great to hear you are doing it and learning so much. I have done my homes in the past with my father's help and learned so much from him. Doug and Ashley reminds me of my father and mother working together. Doug and Ashley are excellent at there work. There designs are beautiful. You should be so proud! I loved that you sharing this. Women are more and more doing this!😊
Ashley and Doug are making such awesome progress! I admire the thought that you 2 dedicate to every step. This may not be your forever home but it is your First Florida home and you are happy to be in warmer weather pretty much year-round. It makes sense to work through choices rather than make rash decisions. The house will reflect your happiness and freedom from 7+ months of cold/snow/ice every year. You should be very proud of how much you have accomplished!
Lol … you guys are so funny … love the fade to black and white when you install the walls …. I want to go forward on your videos, but I really enjoy watching them the way you presented them. Love the corners, the look great against the bathroom walls. That pale sage looks wonderful
Personally, I think the corner trim turned out perfect. You are going for a vintage look. I think the slightly rough surface hits that nail on the head. Looks great.
Oh I cracked up every time you turned it black and white…..COLOR TEASE. LOL 😂. I absolutely LOVE that color green. Your unique style gives me so many new ideas. I get excited when I see you’ve posted a new video. Thank you 🙏🏼
I continue to love it all! Great color choice. When I went to Germany a few years ago the hotel I was in had a toilet mounted in the wall, and I thought it looked very good. I'm really looking forward to seeing the toilet and fixtures in your bathroom---and hoping you'll be able to use it soon. Well done!
I love your color choice! My parents remodeled our home back in the late 60s, and the lady at the paint store told us that green is a color your eyes never tire of. I have found that to be true. Maybe that's why God created green grass....
Love. Love. Love the woodwork. And of course your creativity and humor with the music and b/w video! Thank you so much for your work and sharing your lives with us.
I love that light fitting! Beautiful! The scaffold is a brilliant idea; you will get so much use out of it. The woodstain is a perfect colour; it reminds me of the underside of sage leaves.
I like the color A LOT! It's going to be beautiful! Also, I like the corner trim in the bathroom. It's perfect! Even the rough texture has great character.
I have referred to your music before. Today I wanted to just repeat; thank you for the lovely music. Of all the UA-camrs I follow (And there are many!) you win top prize for music. ❤
Beautiful!!! All of it, you have a great eye for style and it wouldn't be Doug and Ashley if there wasn't something unconventional in your design!!! Really great! I love it.
If you would have showed me that green stain in the can I would have said "meh, I guess it's ok". But seeing it on the wall I get where you're going with this. Great choice. As for all the "mistakes" in the bathroom, that place is looking incredible. You guys get an attaboy! for all this.
Doug and Ashley I really love this shade of green💚💚💚!!!!!!!? The trim in the bathroom makes a huge difference and makes the bathroom stand out. Green is a very soothing and peaceful color, reading about paint colors this was the favorite color. I remember when you found the light fixture I just forgot what it looked like. As always I loved this video
Glad you invested in that scaffold! Watching you working on the entry ceiling on the ladder made me nervous for you! I could not imagine how you were going to be able to do the vaulted bedroom ceiling that way!
I would suggest getting a scrap of carpet to put under your work area as long as you are working above the tile. A dropped hammer could break your tile
Love it ! I’m so glad you chose green, a color from nature is perfect, in my opinion. The contrasting trim in the bathroom is so sharp, love it. I like your style choices. And the black & white editing and olde timey music was way cool. Great job as always ! 👍
Thankful that you purchased that scaffold! Safety is so important. I bet Ashley feels better about that too. So exciting to see this. The color palette is perfect. So happy for your family. Perfect home.
Oh wow! I love the colour! And the light fixture is beautiful. I think I can see now where you are going with this build and its going to be gorgeous ❤
absolutely fabulous colour, green pinks my most favourite colours always stunning work i love the bathroom trim too, you both have awesome vison of what you want things to look like. hope your all well hugsx
Love, love, love the stain color. I'm glad you moved away from the high gloss too. The Chandler will be a nice finish. The scaffolding was a must 👍. The thin dark line left showing on the bathroom trim is great. The more you do, the more creative you get. Per your "forever or not home" video, I think you all will enjoy this house for a long time 😀💖
Hi Doug you Ashley. Thank you for sharing another great video. love chandelier and wall colour 🎉. scaffolding is going to be of a great benefit you 👍. Keep safe and God bless your beautiful family 👨👩👧👦 ❤
I just had this thought… have you considered functional wooden shutters on all of your windows ? Hurricane season is something I dread every year. I would give anything to have them on my old house here in South Louisiana.
Great idea! Traditional shutters on that low country cottage would be historically appropriate. Wonder if Doug could make them on his handy dandy wood working station?
I love the idea of making your own trim. It’s expensive to be sure, I’ve used a lot of pvc and mdf where it doesn’t matter. I substituted poplar for some pine where I wanted a better grade of wood. I’m wondering if you had gone up a grade on the 2 x 4’s if that would’ve helped? I’m sure it would still be cheaper than the cost of premade trim. I’m loving watching it come together. How funny I was wondering if it was going to be green.
Good morning, Doug and Ashley! Wow, having coffee and your video popped in! Hooray…I just love the color and the boards being horizontal! I just love your videos! You two are awesome and I love the light in the hall! Have a good weekend!
Hi Ashley & Doug, the green is a beautiful colour, I like you can see the wood grain through the paint. I like the colour of your trim too. And a lovely fitting, your hallway will be beautiful. Great job both
Love the colour of the wall it looks great 👍🇦🇺❤️👍can’t wait to see the rooms change . The tiles in the entry really pop with the walls perfect. ❤️❤️🇦🇺🇦🇺👍👍
Doug - add a piece of 8.5x11 white paper to an inside room and the camera will correct for color better. Outside is obviously easy due to the house wrap.
I like the scaffold. You know, ladders are great for most jobs however there are times when you really need to use the proper equipment and the scaffold is it! As usual you did a great job editing, Ashley! I love the black and white video and the music ties in nicely to the feel of the video. Love how you did the fade back to colour with Doug entering in with the Chandelier! The dark corner boards look perfect in the bathroom. The entry way walls look awesome! Everything is coming together so nicely. When I watch your videos, I like to take notes so that you know that I actually watched them because I appreciate the work you do and the videos you provide for your viewers! So, hopefully I can watch a few videos every day and catch right up right back to real time!
That scaffolding was such a smart investment…it is going to be so useful for this as well as in the future. The corner trim is fine…once it is all completed and everything else is installed, you won’t notice it at all. Seeing the wall colors brought me back to the Wizard of Oz 😁
An idea for a gallery wall for Belle’s artwork. In vintage homes, especially ones with plaster walls, they used a picture rail and then hang art on wire from the rail. No holes in wall and easy to change hanging heights and spacing of artwork.
I absolutely love the choices you’re making in colors, style, fixtures, finishes, etc., for this house. It’s going to be soooo pretty when each room is done. I love the trim in the bathroom. Your entryway/foyer light is so pretty and the floor looks even better with the panel walls. This is fun stuff now. 😁
Loving the green it's soft and so calming. I can imagine coming in from the heat and just feeling calm. Although soft it reminds me of Art Deco with the flooring and everything. It's very popular here (UK). Nicely done. Have a good weekend guys.
Morning All, I couldn't help noticing how Maverick is sprouting up like a little weed ☺️ I discovered y'all when you were in the Red and white trailer, great renovations through the years by the way 👍 I continue to love watching y'all do you ❤️😎 Just thought I'd drop a note 🎵🎶 to express my appreciation. Keep on keeping on, I will agree with Ashley I prefer warmer areas. At my age me and 🥶❄️ don't work well together bones just seem to stiffen and lock up. Have a blessed day y'all.
We painted our interior different shades of green and beige. All because of green and brass light fixtures original to our 1886 home. We truly love it. You’ve chosen beautiful colors!
I'm so glad to see that you purchased a scaffold. It's like the old saying, "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." My screen isn't picking up the color you chose for the entry but I've loved all your other choices I'm pretty sure I'd like the color. The light fixture is beautiful! Be well and God bless you all! 😊🌻🙏🏻
Great progress, nice touch using 2x4’s we did something similar to trim out around my oak plywood countertop. (Temp fix for last 8 1/2 years) love your ceiling light in your entryway it looks awesome

Good job
Good for you, Cynthia! A great inspiration for other women 🙂💛.
I like showing your staining job in black and white. Saving the color for a big reveal! You guys are great!

I am loving the bathroom. It’s got a Turkish spa feel to it.
That light fixture is gorgeous.
Your green is my favorite color! Gorgeous!
It is soooo awesome, you have no idea, to see young couples working together in harmony! Just soooo awesome! You guys keep it up! :)
I love seeing a husband and wife that work so well together 👍
Lol … you guys are so funny … love the fade to black and white when you install the walls …. I want to go forward on your videos, but I really enjoy watching them the way you presented them. Love the corners, the look great against the bathroom walls. That pale sage looks wonderful
I love the old style black and white bit you did in this video. Very clever.
Oh!!! That's a gorgeous color!!! Loved the black and white video sections with that music. What a lovely surprise! Thank you!!
Wow! Scaffolding is going to be such a time saver.Brilliant investment!
Personally, I think the corner trim turned out perfect. You are going for a vintage look. I think the slightly rough surface hits that nail on the head. Looks great.
Love the green. Green is my favorite color. 👍
Nice color, very much like our living room. In your early time lapse I kept expecting Charlie Chaplin to walk in. Instead we got Maverick. 😊
Oh I cracked up every time you turned it black and white…..COLOR TEASE. LOL 😂. I absolutely LOVE that color green. Your unique style gives me so many new ideas. I get excited when I see you’ve posted a new video. Thank you 🙏🏼
I love the green, so elegant!!! will look great with your light fitting!!!
Well done!
First thing I thought when I saw the chandelier was "steampunk!" You need a leather vest to go with it :)
I love your color choice! My parents remodeled our home back in the late 60s, and the lady at the paint store told us that green is a color your eyes never tire of. I have found that to be true. Maybe that's why God created green grass....
❤❤❤
Love. Love. Love the woodwork.
And of course your creativity and humor with the music and b/w video!
Thank you so much for your work and sharing your lives with us.
Beautiful color choice. It works well with the tile and it just breathes home as soon as you walk into the entry.
Yes! I was hoping you were going with the green! And I love the darker color for the trim in the bathroom!
I love that light fitting! Beautiful! The scaffold is a brilliant idea; you will get so much use out of it. The woodstain is a perfect colour; it reminds me of the underside of sage leaves.
That lamp is breathtakingly gorgeous.
Love the bathroom trim and the soft green is so relaxing in the entry. Light fixture is so beautiful.
Wow....looking beautiful.
I like the color A LOT! It's going to be beautiful! Also, I like the corner trim in the bathroom. It's perfect! Even the rough texture has great character.

Beautiful!!! All of it, you have a great eye for style and it wouldn't be Doug and Ashley if there wasn't something unconventional in your design!!! Really great! I love it.
Thoughtful beautiful design! Bravo to your “music editor.”
I'm excited to see the bathroom trim all finished. And what a great colour choice for the entryway. So inviting
Love the old movie style video. You guys are creative and provide interesting information
If you would have showed me that green stain in the can I would have said "meh, I guess it's ok". But seeing it on the wall I get where you're going with this. Great choice. As for all the "mistakes" in the bathroom, that place is looking incredible. You guys get an attaboy! for all this.
I love the sage green! Very subtle and feels appropriate to the age of the home.
Ragtime! I love the care you guys take to find good background music.
Hi the lights look

Hes a genius and she's a saint.Lovely couple, lovely family.❤️
Doug and Ashley I really love this shade of green💚💚💚!!!!!!!? The trim in the bathroom makes a huge difference and makes the bathroom stand out. Green is a very soothing and peaceful color, reading about paint colors this was the favorite color. I remember when you found the light fixture I just forgot what it looked like. Maverick is getting so tall! He’s so cute with his hand on his hip.
Glad you invested in that scaffold! Watching you working on the entry ceiling on the ladder made me nervous for you! I could not imagine how you were going to be able to do the vaulted bedroom ceiling that way!
