Total hits ! I’m bias because I had a Golf GTI MK 1 years ago and the Honda looks really amazing, I got two Golfs this past weekend and I already paint one in silver like one I owned. Can’t wait to find the Honda. Congratulations Matchbox for listening us the collectors.
Daaaannnng!.. my mom had a 76 Honda Civic but in a maroonish or a burgundy color. Will definitely try to get that for the past memories. Hot Wheels did a slammin job with the Nissan hardbody truck but matchbox is taking the prize with these beauties that you shown here. My hats off to you matchbox!
Matchbox just keeps getting better and better. These new casting are awesome! I’m just going to have to start buying cases cause I can’t wait around for the stores to stock ‘em!
Matchbox has to reingineer the removal of the ugly post mount in the rear of hatch backs. By simply using the chassis as part of a license plate in the rear. They use to do it.
Blame it on the safety standards police. I worked on both brands. Trust me, I asked the engineers hundreds of times for new ideas. Relying on a plastic chassis to hold down a metal body by your tab/plate solution requires thicker plastic (even if it was only in that plate area also), messing up the design completely.
@@mongrelmachines Collecting? Yeah 95% of the people at the store are scalpers. Selling these for $5-10 each. And yes Hot Wheels USED to be for kids. Now its a secondary business people have. It's pathetic.
I am one of the numerous VW fans and that mk1 is very nice. The deco is not licensed as far as I know, it reminds me of the HW orange mk2 that came out not so long ago.
I totally agree Adam Wiggins, the use of chrome coloured bumpers / grilles (derived from the base), would definitely improve the realism on the otherwise impeccable new Nissan Hardbody and Honda Civic castings. The plain grey bumpers MBX have been using are just not good enough in my personal opinion.
The older British made matchbox cars use to have a all metal chassis which had a metallic effect. Usually the chassis used to have headlight details or engine details molded on them. They used to have opening doors on the body and working suspension as well.
Hopefully the next version of VW Rabbit comes with detailed rear lights. 2020 is looking like the year for the VW Rabbit/Golf with many companies offering new castings. Lots of options with this model.
That R8 may be the best release of the casting I've seen from matchbox. The hard body is amazing, the Benz is gorgeous in white and that Cadillac is beefy
Appreciated that you did a comparison of Nissan pickups. Previews/unboxings like this are the way viewers can see & hold these diecast in our minds for 1st time.
Wow! Matchbox has really come through with their cars. Some very nice ones not over doing it with details. By far matchbox is topping hot wheels. I hope I get to see these cars get me some of them.
Hey John, The card art was also found on a 5 pack that has the same highway sign and next to it said "Harrison Boulevard." That overhead road sign was taken at I-80 near the Evanston, Wyoming exit. I also reside in Salt Lake City. Small world.
botfan78 I mean, true, but Hot wheels really puts the most effort in the premium sets. I’m hoping this year we get crazy good castings in the premium lines
I was fortunate enough to find Matchbox mix two, it is very very nice. My cousin gave me the Hot Wheels super Jeepster, so I gave him the Cadillac. I will find myself another one of those Cadillacs it is badass. Matchbox keep up the great work, what you are doing is hitting grand slams and just keep it up. Thank you sir for the preview, Happy New Year to you and your family and I'm looking forward to another year of your videos and live streams.
That Civic is a must have got me. I learned to drive in a 1980 Honda Civic and this is a very close to the one I got my driver's license with. It was silver do if one is recoloured that would be the colour for me. The others look good as well. The INC backhoe looks nice. It works well with the rest of the series. Seeing some older cars are the lineup it would be great to see the models of yesterday come back. I liked that series and having cars like the the 1933 Plymouth around adding to this era would be a nice extension to the matchbox line.
I collect several castings from Matchbox and there are definitely 2 or 3 in that assortment that I am interested in. Like most collectors, I can't collect everything out there so I am going to be very particular on which ones I get (i.e., the Mercedes and Honda are definite; the third one is a toss up between the Cadillac and Nissan)
I love the 76 Honda CVCC! My Brother owned a .. I think it was a 79 at one time. I wouldn't mind getting the 41 Cadillac too. I already found the Lambo Police Car, love that one!
Really diggin that yellow mustard Honda Civic, Especially wanna get one as my Mother use to drive that exact car in the same colour, But I also really like the red Nissan(hardbody) Ute/truck it just looks really nice!!
I love the mk1 golf reminds me of my first Mbx. But would love to see it in red or silver as those were the standard paint for the golf. Great preview😊
The new Matchbox cars are great but I don't know if they will ever be as interesting as the older cars built in the UK from around 1950-1980 as they used to have loads of vehicles from cars, trucks, buses, aircraft, trains and I think a few boats in different scales. Some of the older vehicles had working items such as doors and suspension.
Love the new D21 Stock 4wd King Cab! That stripe was the "special" package. I prefer the SEV6 package. Love those trucks! I have a bunch of the 1988 4wd with the ugly engine in bed.
Nice models, Nissan reminds me good old Matchbox with that wheels....however we didn't get rid of that awful support column in some of the models 😥😥😥.....whyyyyy?
These are great models. Matchbox distribution is so more that you have to drive 300 miles around los angeles that why bother . Scalpers get them at night. Thank you for showing them
I'm liking the pick up truck it looks new and different. I be looking out for the pick up truck. I'm liking the matchbox more not over doing it like hot wheels
The Civic is great except for the huge ugly post in the back. They need to do it more subtlety like hot wheels did on the Honda City. You can barely see the post on the Honda City. Also Hot wheels just released a brand new casting with no post in the back (Volvo 850 Estate). Why cant matchbox do that? At least use darker windows to hide it like in the orange Golf. Second complaint. The assortment is odd if you look at wheels collectors unboxing. Mostly only 1 of each of the licensed models but 11 combined of sambar (3), hummer (3) backhoe (3) and another fantasy casting - road raider (2). The unimog is the only other one that is 2 per case. A shame. Same deal last case with the alfa coming one to a case.
@@bentullett6068 So do I. No disrespect at all bro. Good for us. But anyway I miss the working suspension and the opening doors for most models. I guess it is a economic plan. What about a Matchbox Model Ford Econoline Van. For me It would be great.

About time a VW golf mk1 shows up! I have one in real life and I snag up as many as possible from when they first released. (1978-1982)
That Civic is perfect!
Matchbox has to reingineer the removal of the ugly post mount in the rear of hatch backs. By simply using the chassis as part of a license plate in the rear. They use to do it.
Yes i agree hugely
Blame it on the safety standards police. I worked on both brands. Trust me, I asked the engineers hundreds of times for new ideas. Meeg Loopz I’m glad to hear that. Because if I’m not mistaken this is a toy, made for +3y.o. right? We are collecting child toys, right? :-)
The new Volvo 850 wagon is built this way. Go figure.

I LOVE that orange VW Golf(Rabbit). In the USA the car was called Rabbit from 1974 until 1984. After that the Golf name came the USA.
Matchbox is getting better. I just wish all their bases were chrome or black. The molded gray detracts from the models.

My Favorit is the Volkswagen Golf MK1🤩
Matchbox detail is really great... Looking forward what there coming out with in the future. Great video
some are good some are lame though with no painted tail lights on the rabbit.golf DAMIT

That Mercedes is looking good. I want that Honda!
I got the Honda civic hatchback
VW Golf MK1, '41 Cadillac S62 Covertible, 2019 Mercedes AMG GT 63 S, 1995 Nissan HardBody, 1976 Honda CVCC...great castings coming up from Matchbox. Thanks for the preview!
They have definitely stepped up their game.
Thanks for the video and preview information. Love what Matchbox is doing, just wish they would do a little better on the lights on some vehicles
The Mercedes AMG is by far my favorite 🤩

In Canada those models are VW Rabbit
Matchbox is knocking it of the park in 2020... unlike Hot Wheels

That 41 Cadillac is amazing. I need to find that one.
Yes it is beautiful!
Can't wait for the premium

Love the MatchBox and look forward to this year bro 🚗🇨🇦🎉🎉
Can’t wait to get the Civic.

Hello! Good evening. I am so looking forward to the Nissan P/U!!

The CVCC and the Caddy are amazing!
I am in love with the Honda Civic and VW Golf!!!
The CVCC is amazing! Seeing that in the thumbnail made me quick this video ASAP
+1
It's civic not cvcc
@@NestorAv4irliner5743 🙄 I'm referring to the Civic CVCC, because that generation came with CVCC, so it's often referred by that name.

Agree the 1976 Civic I LOVE! Also a huge fan of the 1995 Nissan Hardbody Truck this year!
The AMG GT 63 is just awesome!! They pretty much nailed this one. The Civic and Hardbody are also great! But man that AMG has me excited!
Very awesome Matchbox keep them coming guys love what y’all are doing🤘🏼 As always thanks for sharing Lamley 🥇🤙🏼
Lot of must haves here for me. The Civic, the Nissan truck. I love the Cadillac and would like to see a hardtop version.

like the 2020 cars but hate the pillar inside (civic & golf )...
Im glad the white mini truck is out I was going to paint one and change the wheels now i dont have to

The d21 and the civic totally killed me! Hope they're coming to Germany 👌🏼😍
My local Target had these on the pegs before Christmas
No they didn’t.
@@DrumminZach15 Yes they did, like at beginning of December. At least here at south California
Joseph Kusanagi yeah I’m going to have to disagree with you, I’m also in south Cali and never saw any of these. Just the way it is.

I love the Nissan D21 my father were have one ,in Latin America are really popular , greetings from Costa Rica
Right with ya on the Mercedes AMG. It's a great casting and it's the only MB , in this video, that I purchased.
That Civic is awesome ! Nice stuff coming from Matchbox .
That model Civic (in Au) was really Hondas launching platform into car making.
Classic and popular.
Cheers
Awesome mix 2!!! And awesome video as always!!!
that first gen honda civic❤️
Love the caddy and the merc
Love the Mercede truck and the awesome Honda car.

Yup most definitely I am not a Japanese vehicle fan but I like MB and HW castings
Golf&Nissan is a must have.Cool cars
The SUBARU mini truck comes in blue scheme also, still
Love'n the matchbox castings of late

Is that a hard body i see? I wish someone would make the Nissan 720 🤔
I’m starting to get as bummed when my hunts for the latest Matchbox’s come up as dry as my Hot Wheels chases!
I want that little Civic!
Amazing models 😃👍
The civic the Nissan the Chevrolet pickup and the Cadillac are the ones I’m looking forward too
I have the Golf and the Civic, for me those 2 models reflects the best of matchbox i prefer matchbox than hotwheels to be honest
My son got the 41 Cadillac and the BMW 2002 at Walmart today.
I Snatched the 2002, along with the NYPD RMP Caprice, but the 41 Caddy is M.I.A. at Stores, along with the 75 Caprice.
wow.....Lamborghini is an official car of the Indonesian Police...I hope
Love is reason. It's way more than a hot wheel.
The Post in the Honda is annoying. Love the Mercedes AMG and Nissan Hardbody
MonacoMcLaren yea I just bought one, & the post kills it, but besides that it’s an amazing casting
This civic is probably up there with the fn2 ctr matchbox made in 2008-9

Not Everything!!!

** Food Truck, Matchbox made in the United Kingdom, the food vending side would be on the appropriate side of the road for them.
Nice new casting of matchbox I got a question in the 33 Ford coupe is the wheels are error or not? just only asking.
I'm liking the pick up truck it looks new and different. I be looking out for the pick up truck. I'm liking the matchbox more not over doing it like hot wheels

Are you showing us common MB cars or such the common mug like me can never get their fingers on?
Cicic Cadillac Subaru and BMW are favs
If you like these you got to see the real thing: Matchbox of the 70’s. Opening doors and working suspention.
