What people in NP forget is you all are in a theatrical play. So with that said, you all are part of a cast. That is the same as being on a team. Villians, Heroes, Protagonists, Antagonists...they are all part of the same cast/team.

the cops think there will always be criminals so it doesnt matter to them if you give someone a week in prison, they keep on with their fake cop job. they dont realize that theyre in a utopian gta server, generally speaking 5m is toxic, not looking to extend RP, and doesnt give a fuck about anyones time. these cops would not survive literally in any other server.
I’m so glad carmine and characters like him exist. They should have the illusion of massive risks and crazy times but give avenues to escape that CREATES rp.

For those unaware, fifty years ago, they set up an experiment with two groups. They set up a fictional prison where some people would be assigned guards, and the rest prisoners. It was an experiment designed to test authoritative and submissive behaviors in prison. The prison, ended up escalating and going out of control. The guards adopted a authoritative behavior, and almost sadistic tendencies. From physical punishments to psychological ones. The guards were told they cannot hurt the prisoners, but that did not stop them from doing anything in their power to give punishment out.
The guards would degrade and humiliate the prisoners, enforce arbitrary rules and enforced them strictly, gave physical punishments like forcing prisoners to do strenuous activities like standing for hours or doing pushups, forced prisoners to clean toilets with their bare hands, punished people who resisted or disobeyed by putting them in solitary confinement, deprived them of sleep, dehumanized them, deprived them of food, and so, so, so much more.
The prisoners (and guards) were told that they could leave at any time, however the social pressure, and other reasons meant that despite this, a lot of them just didnt leave.
While it is a little different, theres a ton of parallels that can be drawn between the two, at least for those who were put into power.

I low key didn't know that movie was based on a real story til now, those guards got power hungry quick (in the movie).
Stanford prison experiments and the milgram experiments that involved people being told they were giving shocks, some potentially lethal to other participants.
Guards were actually told to be “tough” with people playing prisoners by the team that was conducting the experiment, and people who signed up were mostly seeking easy money and were not off put by the prison theme of the experiment, so, most likely, individuals more open to violence, so it does not prove that power alone enables people to behave in a certain way, only in combination with outside factors. Vsause Michal did an episode about this, pretty entertaining imo
On a side note, RIP Aziz. Real cop ropelay, and fantastic interactions that make sense. Just off the top of my head, his reaction to denzel`s sacking, cell negotiation of charges with K, and the insomnia PCF mini-arc were fantastic.
Totally agree...it's a game...it's entertainment....stop treating these people like actual bad guys...give them their 3 or 4 days...a week a most in prison and let them keep.playong the game and giving us great content to watch...we don't wanna see Mr.K in prison got a whole year much less a week! I think they should redo the whole system starting from the prison, they’ve had plenty of time to experiment with this and they still do. Just start experimenting with prison times until you find a time that works for most people, then work backwards from there.
I think they just need to put more effort into making prison gameplay fun. Pressing a button and waiting for a loading bar is terrible mechanics. Prison should be fun and or useful to criminals.
Some improvements that I think could help:
Make a much smaller max security wing of the prison where all prisoners are confined to (forcing people to run a mile across an empty courtyard is not fun, crims should be in close proximity to eachother so its easier to RP with eachother and the guards). They need to make it easy for crims to get phones in prison and encourage DOC to allow the cell phones (important so crims can still run their gangs and make decisions from inside the prison). Then they should have a TV room that plays videos that people make from the new job, they could allow some type of rating system for prisoners to upvote or downvote videos which gives those News workers bonus money for doing a good job instead of just abusing the mechanics of the job to get rep. This way if any prisoner is in there for an extended period of time they will be able to see what is actually happening in the city on the outside. Next they need better jobs in the prison, I like the idea of using jail as sort of a tutorial island for criminals. The old prison food job was great because it allowed people to practice breaking cuffs. I think that minigame should probably be added to something where it makes more sense though. They definitely should have a greenhouse portion of the prison where prisoners help DOC grow vegetables and cook moonshine, giving DOC a way to make their own money. Basically every hack needs to have something in the prison that it is connected to. Chopping, Roof running, and all the bank hacks need to be attached to something that gives the prisoners some type of benefit. I'd also like to see the gym actually be useful, add minigames to the gym equipment and allow them to get a couple day speedbuff outside the prison where they can run faster, resist stumbling when shot, or make the break cuff minigame is easier. These physical attributes should help the criminals avoid being immediately caught again after getting released from prison. Being in prison should be fun, and since it gives them a chance to RP with lifers it should be something prioritized by the devs to make enjoyable.
Its pretty lame Cornwood couldn't be bothered to go along with the NPC RP even for a second, but I don't expect much else.
Yep. Just like whenever Cornwood was joking and bantering with crims and then crims wanted to take legal action or punishment against Cornwood based off of a joke but I don't expect them to be better so it is what it is.

Also, he is one of the only ones who spoke up in the meeting yesterday night about lowering the time and fine for CGs HUT charges.Because he thought they were trying to charge wayyy to much.

15:04 of course there are other studies, but I wonder if one has been done based of an online/virtual experience. Since the main goal of these players is to have fun on the server or at least that's what I think. There is an audience of thousands of people watching who all have an impact on player decisions. Most players stream for their livelihood as well. The findings from the study would be more interesting to see in a controlled setting

CG shootouts in 3.0 were unmatched! They had AKs meds Weed that gave armor Coke that made you 2x as fast. Meth etc. But 4.0 is just a HUGE nerf to them by far. The server admins and Koil really lost the plot with these nerfs. 😂

If admins want to give an insane punishment to make it so this doesn’t happen again maybe they should just post npc guards at the city hall because giving streamers 5 days in prison and fines that will keep them there for another 5 days is just stupid just ban them if they broke a rule or give them 2 days and make it a rule so it doesn’t happen.

It is almost like interesting rp that gives everyone lots of material to work with is discouraged. They make unrealistic sentences for stealing over killing. It should be similar for interesting rp…or a planned escape built in if they want to seem like realistic sentences or something.

I never knew gta RP servers were a thing until I stumbled across Mr Chang. I have only ever watched videos and clips of Chang and other povs of Chang gang clips. Without CG the servers of gta RP will crash and burn.

Moonmoon is active. Mayor Dab was a criminal, and Lenny Hawk is now a criminal which he plays a lot. AK and Yaeger are also admins. The problem is moreso that a lot of non admin cops don't have crim characters. Most of the RPers that have a cop and crim character are dramatically more lenient toward punishing crims, and they also aren't afraid to actually go after criminals.

Good local RP is one of the funniest things in the server.
I don't see why they didn't just do the 24-72 hour thing, at least that would've been ok to deal with. Instead they want to hold them for something that could take, what, weeks? Very extreme.

Are there any admins that main a crim? I feel like there aren’t any and it’s just a problem. There is only ever one side to everything because that side thinks everyone should RP and do shit like them. The number one example is Suarez and how he sees the PD now and him apologizing to K. Like why in the eff did moonmoon get on at the exact moment of the prison transport? Clearly they didn’t want any of that shit to happen which is just whack.

There definetly should be prison time but not like a week or so. A day or 2 should be the max considering its RP and people making a living doing it. Mfs pretty much playing with peoples irl incomes.
