Rare great movie from Cannon. Roy is fantastic in this role. He's usually a solid actor anyways, sometimes fantastic, sometimes just good, but never bad. I like a lot of his stuff.
I showed this movie as a projectionist back in 1987 at my Sister’s Movie Theater she co owned in Cornelia, GA. This is a small town and she didn’t think it was going to be an action thriller having to do with strippers and Long Beach. The Vanity scene was eye opening and she’s fine. Well she thought it was about playing cards like 52 pick up. Not. It’s a very good movie and Roy Schneider plays a good role busting up the crime ring. Ann Margaret looked fine in it too. I bought the DVD because I had to own it years ago. Good job posting this sport.
One of the most satisfying last lines ever, mostly because John Glover played such a gleefully nasty villain. I saw this when it first came out, and expected the car to explode as he yelled *_"NOOOOOOO!!!"_* ... but to hear Scheider's line and the audience cheer seconds later was awesome 😄
I just watched this and I’m sure there was a scene where Roy sais something bout- I can’t stand your face to John glover …but it was on the dvd version
That's the whole point. He was just an everyman - a guy just trying to make a living who got himself in a shit position and was forced to respond to their escalations. It was really easy to identify with him. He wasn't supposed to be schwarzenegger.

I thought he was fantastic (though underused) in Marathon Man.
I did watch 52 Pick-Up and it was a killer bad ass movie!

Roy. Scheider Just is NOT a Tough Guy to be scared of or to play these sort of roles
Have you seen French Connection? He was more badass than Hackman.
He battled Jaws so he's a tough guy.
Roy was Tough …check his boxing record 💯 👏
That is why he is perfect. He was an everyday Joe who had to rise up.
