Those driveway stairs were widely used in the 40s and 50s. Particularly in climates where snow and ice were regular yearly occurrences.
Then why had I seen them throughout Atlanta? I actually think it's practical on a steep driveway, like to go down to get the mail.
@@NorthieStangl I've even seen them in LA where I grew up since the 6th grade. May have been some come and go fad in home design. Like breezeways in the late 40s & 50s.
Nothing wrong with them.
I like driveway stairs 👍
@@NorthieStanglIt doesn't have to snow. Imagine walking down that driveway in the morning to get the newspaper after it iced up the night before.
driveway stairs were not uncommon for old houses, have seen them.
I actually think that's a good idea....
Never seen anything like that.
I've seen plenty of steep driveways with stairs in the middle of them, but would never have a steep driveway as I totally hate them!
The one that got me the most, was where the washer was above the toilet. The toilet didn't even have a lid! Wash your clothes then drop them in the toilet. Stupid. I never understood why someone would have a small area up where there is no access and put furniture in it. A couple of the houses, are so ugly, that you couldn't pay me to live in them (well, maybe for a million or two).😅
to reuse water
@@stacymcclary9578 I'd be washing the clothes twice. For darn sure, I'd be dropping some in the toilet. It wouldn't be so bad if there was a lid covering the seat.
The thing is an architect was paid to design those badly thought out, awful and ugly buildings.
Probably holds for 2 runs with the vibration
Quite a few slides that will make your head spin... ❤❤❤
The toilet roll holder on the back of the door is covering the letter slot, that is the front door off the street.
Holy s***!
So... the first room you see through the front door is... a bathroom?? Well, if you ever feel the sudden urge to use the toilet while driving, and after rushing, all you have to do is unlock the door and turn around the door and sit down, I suppose it would be practical in emergencies 😂🤷♂️
That was what the mailman said when he looked through the slot. 😄
Wonderful posting. Thank you so much. Now I can look at my own house and not want to cry/scream.
This was a horror show🫣😵💫
Good music, good sens of humour and so amazing constructions so thx for this happy time 👍✌🦝🍁
I'm a board Happy Bears 👍😁
2:57 it reminds me of the vehicle used by the scrap guy's in star wars
The Jawa`s Sandcrawler. I`ve heard the same said about US Bank Stadium.
3:01 - This is what's called a 'nook' and its purpose isn't to be functional, but to add scenery, like a diorama.
To answer the "what would you put in this square?" How about a plant???😅
0:45. That was a Richardson Romanesque, now it's a Frankensteinian abomination. I get so irritated when people abuse their cultural heritage....
Some of these were big old houses that were split up into apartments, that's why walls and stairs and bathrooms end up in weird places.
@ 4.26, Salford is the original " Dirty Old Town " from the song. It also contains Shit architecture !
Some of these houses, actually hotels... I don't know why complain? They are ok.
Some people try to find something odd where there isn't any
This was a truly crazy video. Unbelievable!
Some of these makes me wonder if the people who designed and built some of this stuff ever took a tour of the Winchester Mystery House in SanJose, California. I've taken a tour of that house, and that's why I asked that question. 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
1;06 the window at the end WOW cowboy builders no know bounds
Tryna imagine installing that toilet or thr wall, whichever came second
2:52 That's the Jawa Sand Crawler. But in brand new condition.
Those driveway stairs are all over Columbus, OH
5:16 Looks like AI could have drawn that. AI has difficulty with room angles, where they don’t line up, especially if something else in the picture is positioned in front of an architectural line. 8:13 When you want that penitentiary look for your dream house…
Looked up the Scooter Street house on Google Earth. It appears to have a life-size chessboard in the courtyard.
So many of these look fake and photoshopped. 😑
6:40 Great little sound recording booth for singers to record thier tracks. Sound proof that baby up. Add a door and your goof to go.
There would be tonnes of uses for that space. I was thinking home office or gaming room.
You Don't Need To Capitalize Every Word Of Each Sentence. Doing That Is The Writing Equivalent Of The Architecture You Are Putting On Display.
The House of Music in Oporto (4:02) was designed by a dutch architect and professor at Harvard University. The house is a camera looking into the trees (not shown). It has one of the best acustic rooms in the world. It is a really nice building, actually.
One thing I actually liked about a different cleaning video. A lady named Aukatriina (spl?) professionally cleans apartments and home in Finland and Sweden. They have bathrooms with a sprayer hose in the freaking wall! To spray the floor when mopping, spray the toilet to clean (only when it’s atrocious), spray the shower to clean it. It’s actually a cool feature. I think American public bathrooms could really benefit from those. When janitors need to really dowse something.
14:19 Trypophobia is the fear of holes that are close to each other.... just... what??
2:30 at my job there is a 'safe place to stand' like this one, we see the entire shop (and it's kinda weird...) Idk what it's for. But we say to the new employees it's for the Christmas factory blessing of the boss. He comes random before the 2-weeks break and ask someone to assist him and go up there for a prayer with everyone. One young woman was terrified, she was hired directly by him a few months before, and she KNEW he was going to ask HER. We all said oh yea, it sure will be you! it's so embarrassing but hey, you will survive! Dont worry! You ll be fine! We terrorized her for 2 months, she was red like a tomato each time he opened the door! There obviously never been a prayer! xD
Otra cosa que da vergüenza es poner las palabras de los rótulos con la primera letra en mayúsculas 🙃
5:18 Who freaking cares??? Most people won't even notice it. Most of the people who notice it won't care. Most of the people who care don't live there.
6:01, 8:03, 9:03, 13:04, and 13:16, I actually quite like. A lot of the others, I have to say I have seen a lot worse...
I have always believed that there are certain people who should never be allowed to swing a hammer or run a saw of any type or have a loaded paintbrush in their hand.
That should apply to those who think they are architects. I believe that those who design most of the buildings in my city were first year dropouts.
When you think you are an Architecture because you play The Sims
the building in Chicago at 5:26 is actually a hospital. I was there recently. the inside is as brutal as the outside.
Thumbnail bathroom: My hips are too wide to use that toilet. That toilet is only for people who are a size 6 or under 😂
13:57 is actually really good what‘s your problem with that
My house does not have a door on the front facade, facing the street. Just one long window. The doors are on the sides.
Just because you have money doesn't mean you have good taste.
the last one is actually very functional and i have seen it before many times
If you drop the washing, where does it end up?
13:00 I want that house!!
Yeah, I could live there. You'd certainly get plenty of fresh air.
I need to wash my eyeballs.
Incroyable, trop drôle
Architects from hell!
10:49 Never mind the "forehead". Why are there no windows on the entire side of the house?
14:19 I'll save you all from looking it up: "Trypophobia is an aversion to the sight of repetitive patterns or clusters of small holes or bumps."
🦉 LOST?! 🫣
Wow
😂😂😂😂😂
*If those designs worked on the occupants, doesn't matter if its wrong for most of us. True Architecture follow & satisfies the movement and lifestyle of the people and family who use it*
3:10, 3:20, 4:30, 6:30, 6:45, 8:00, 8:15, 9:40, 10:50, 11:10, 11:20, 11:50, 11:55, 12:35, 12:55, 13:05, 13:20, 14:30 All of those looks like they where made in The Sims4...
13:50 I pity the poor soul who have to clean those.
Fence: 🪟; 😺 🤔
Some of these just need different landscaping 🌳🪻
