I was attending a Toto’s concert, my first concert by the way, and then they dropped this masterpiece played by Porcaro himself at the keyboards. And while struggling to know the title of the song I found that the song was written by them for Michael. In that very moment while hearing that shining keyboard melody I found what bliss truly is.
It was about a year ago, I hadn’t really listened to MJ before, but decided to watch his 1988 Wembley show. I was liking it, but it was only background music until Human Nature came on. Then I was just captivated. Literally the song that made me a fan of his!
Yaaay! I've always wanted to learn this song! My mum bought the "Thriller" album in the mid 80's initially because she fell in love w/ 'Thriller' the song, but once she went through the whole album she really fell in love with 'Human Nature' and would always replay it again and again, every single day when she's resting. So naturally I became a huge fan of Michael growing up since my parents, siblings and I would play the "Thriller" album often on the grammophone and this ended up becoming my favourite song of all time! So thanks guys!
The year was 1986 for me the 1st time I heard this masterpiece of a song. I was in the backseat of my Dad's car on our way to pick up my mom from her college classes. It was playing on the radio in Los Angeles on a summer night cruising downtown Los Angeles. I remember sticking out my head out the window seeing the shimmering glasses of the downtown buildings.
My first ever memory I can recall is watching Michael Jackson’s Dangerous Tour live in Bucharest. And I remember being three years old and thinking this song specifically was sooo magical. I’m learning now to do a cover.
The first time I heard human nature was in 2009 when Michael died, I was 12 years old and never really knew his music deeply. Ever since that awful year, I've become obsessed with him. Now I got the keyboard and this is the first song I want to learn.
I’m so glad you asked! I was 3. I too thought it was one of the most beautiful songs I’d ever heard. I fell in love with MJ at age 2 after seeing the making of thriller on VHS. Human Nature sealed the deal. Thanks for the tutorial
first time i heard the song was on a trip to a dam... it was a boring hot drive.. bout soon we approached a tunnel, it was somewhat dark, and human nature started playing, and i absolutely loved it, but at the end of the song, they didnt give credits so i didnt know the song title. so i tried remembering the lyrics, but i soon fell asleep and forgot the lyrics, 4 months later, the song played again, and i asked my friend, and he said he didnt know, so i wrote the lyrics down and made sure to search them at home, here i am years later, been able to get a keyboard and i didnt know there was a tutorial to this song so im so greatful! BEST SONG EVER, Michael Jackson was in my opinion thr king of harmony and pop
In Catholic grade school, latter Eighties. An older kid was proficient at the keyboard and one day I was there when he was playing the intro and I thought it was unbelievable. I realise now that it's quite simple, actually.
I don't remember when I first heard this song, but I remember when I first open my eyes to it. It was at the MJ's funeral that John Mayer played it with his guitar. He made a masterful version of the song. In my opinion this is the best song MJ ever wrote.
I think i was 5 or 6 when my dad bought the thriller tape. being a violinist, he had a decent collection of western albums ranging from boney m to abba. For kids my age then, beat it was the song heard over and over. but as i grew up,this particular intro was a favourite. thank you for sharing this. i will try it out with my very limited skills...
The first time I heard about this song is when Miles David play. I fell in love of this song immediately even there is no lyrics or singing part. Chord, Melody and Rhythmic just perfect to me. 🧡💚😊
Yes i do remember hearing it first on my Thriller album age 7 !..so obv , i.did grow up in.th 80's . Its my favourite MJ song. Im going to.learn this , big thankyou xx I use to play piano when was a teenager .
I was an intermediate guitar player when I first heard this track. Steve Lukathers tasty guitar work taught me a lot in how less can be more. This is one of those rare gems that has such an emotional impact you can’t help but surrender to it. I’ve Been Waiting For A Girl Like You, would be another example. Great tutorial. Thanks! 😎🎸👍
3 year old hearing SWV Right Here Human Nature Remix. Loved the beat and melody. Then hearing Human Nature for first time at 9 or 10 watching The Jackson’s American Dream
Cant remember the first time i heard human nature but i remember the countless samples of it in other songs and my mom saying thats Michael jackson singing and me thinking wow his voice is angelic lmao
1983 BBQ'ing in the backyard. I was 9. my older Bro who was into Off the Wall had just bought Thriller cassette and I remember this coming on. We had the big boombox going LOL. The "Beat it" video had just come out on MTV. cool times.
9:30 sounds better at 1.5x Also fun fact: the intro that was just played (Synth bounce) is actually done on the Yamaha CS80. Great tutorial btw awesome.

I first heard it last year when I started to get into mike and being a massive fan of him now I’m 18 yrs old and I’m very in love with him even though it makes me cry the fact that I’ll never be able to meet him
It was a day after I got into his music after I found a vine with smooth criminal in it and I fell in love and I found this song a day later and it was a miracle to my ears
I remember I had to be about four or five and I used wake up every morning to watch Moonwalker and I always used to wait for the Human Nature in the retrospect part before Speed Demon.
When I was a kid, I heard SWV's remix of it first, then on the school bus, then on the Jacksons VH1 movie.. Even though my uncle don't like MJ, he likes *"Human Nature."*

Don't remember when I heard that for the first time, but MTV played that every opening to report his funeral... It was odd, everytime I hear that I remember he's gone.
I was 14 when the album was released. Played that record a 10000 times… “Baby be mine” is also a brutal song. I’m playing Gmaj7add9,Aadd11(a,c#,d(same octave)).Try that if you reading this 🙏🏽🍀🇦🇺

Is there a difference between a keyboard and a piano?
Keyboard is electronic, piano is acoustic!
Did these chords get used in another pop song by a girl group in the 90's? The lyrics included "Be right there..." or something, if I remember right.
