he seems to be arab and as far as I know, in arabic you say 68 as "eight and sixty", in this order. maybe this is the reason why he made that mistake and not because he doesn't know that baqarah has 286 ayaat.

Memorize only 2 verses daily so it will take you 8 years 9 months to complete entire quran in sha Allah

sheikh...surah al baqara has a total of 286 Verses, not 268..
He is 60+ so it is probable from him to make such mistakes, look at his neyah not the exact words, may Allah guide us to sirat al mustaqeem
