Hopefully once we’ve all paid our green taxes and got electric cars then this weather will get a lot better and we won’t get rain any more. I hope that after that the government can turn their attention to making the days longer at this time of year cos I’m sick of it going dark before tea time.
How dull do you have to be to attempt to drive a vehicle through water that deep, unless its a large vehicle which is equiped to deal with these types of conditions IE a snorket to stop water entering the engine, geez, if I was driving my car along that road, and seen how deep that was I would have turned around, and gone a different way, if this is the only road to where I was going, I would park the vehicle somewhere safe, maybe walk through ( if I deemed it safe enough ) and had either a friend, neighbour or a taxi pick me up the otherside to continue my journey to where I was going, Ive been driving for over 35 years, driven everything from motorcycles to 44t trucks, and never done anything close to this.
Let us get our priorities in order. Council tax payers paying policemen to festoon the neighbourhood with plastic waste which, incidentally, doesn't come cheap either. I wonder if they will carefully collect it afterwards for reuse

What a total waste of resources that was - through driver stupidity. I thought people needed a basic level of intelligence to get a taxi licence and I would expect a far higher standard from a Hackney Driver as they put in a lot more studying. How did the drivers not see multiple warning signs and how did they not see the water and understand the height of their vehicles? Were the drivers charged with criminal offences for endangering the life of others and were they drink and drug tested ?

It's time that these idiots were charged by the rescue services, and insurance companies refused to pay out under the circumstances.
I think you will find they will be charged
