54 yrs old from eastern oregon .been running a saw my whole life . i where gloves eye and ears ,and saw chaps .i nearly lost a good man when we where bumping knots off on the landing.his chain snapped at full song and wrapped around his thigh and cross cut its way back .he did nothing wrong or wreckless ,and was wearing chaps .it cut his femoral artery, and it started squirting about 3 feet with every heart beat.i tied it off with my belt and life flight as only 10 minutes out tx be to god .moral is you can do it all right and still get cut .i will not pick up a saw without chaps .and i wouldnt advise anybody else do it either .its a tool .thats where my saw rests on my thigh .i have had this pair for 20 yrs and the fibers are poking out in 3 spots i can see from here.good luck , be safe.
Nice warm up on the new saw. I've been cutting firewood and logged where I live in BC for a few years. Please don't underestimate safety pants and steel toes while running a chainsaw. One slip and regardless of how many years experience one has and your in a world of hurt. My decades of experience like you but the difference is I always use safety equipment. You do you.!!
Hello, I have five of those Husqvarna 350 chainsaws. The number one thing that burns them up is the plastic intake clamp. Not sure if you upgraded to the metal one. Also the four bolts that hold the bearing cap or riser block sometimes loosen up. The 49 cc engine didn’t have the vibration problems that the 52 cc does. They are excellent chainsaws. Just make sure you take care of the issues with air leaks and they run forever.
Thank you for sharing that! I've got 2 older Stihl saws, an 038 and an 038 magnum, I run both of them at 25:1. I mainly run the regular 038, it has the shorter bar and is better on fuel, and I don't often need more than a 20" bar. Some of the newer saws don't like the heavier oil mixture because the carburetors aren't adjustable and more oil makes them run lean. If you can adjust the carburetor, more oil is good! Hope you have a good one!
with new oils theres no need to run that much oil all you will do is sludge up the cylinder over time. 40-50: 1 is ideal with new oils. also stay away from stihl ultra. echo red armor is good but i run honda hp2 dirtbike oil. i have an older saw too an 046 mag with a d cylinder and i run 45:1 some people think that u cant have to much oil but you for sure can
use honda hp2 two stroke its really good stuff and run it at 40:125:1 is far to much oil and you will foul plugs and over time sludge up the motor. i sometimes will mix a bit of marvel mystery oil in my mix too it helps clean out any build up
fist saw i ever ran was close to a husky 350 mine is a 353 and i still have it 25 years later dont know much about the ms 311 but i have 2 ms310 and a ms290 and the ms290 has been going 10 years with no rebuild i have oem husky 365 special and 2 372 xp saws just remember if you blow top end on that 365 you can put a 372xp top end right on the 365
he paid $150 a Husqvarna easily runs $1200, so 8 of those vs 1 Or he could rent a saw for two days for $85 a day, but then he'd have no running saws after that

Most Chinese are tuned rich from the factory. After a few tanks the rings will seat. Adjust the carburetor & it'll run a LOT better.
