The scientist is clearly untrusting and careful around John, he’s had problems with people before. What if someone else killed him while the robot was trapped, the robot got out later and ran away, distraught over witnessing its master’s death and questioning the purpose of its own existence without someone to serve? And then you just shoot it?
My theory is that he got killed by bountyhunters,spies or anyone who wanted him to create weapons/soldier robots and he refused and that is why they killed him and the robot saw it
His arm is sparking so maybe he sustained damage trying to defend papa?

Was anyone else actually legit sad about his death? The robot and dragics.
Like, he was sitting on the mountain and just saying "papa" over and over again. He sounds confused and scared and seems unsure of what is happening. The person who bought him life is now dead leaving the poor thing without a purpose. It just runs away to hide from everyone and attempts to make sense of whats going on. Seeing the robot go limp after he shot it made me feel horrible, it's just so detailed how the robots' head drops down and twitches once before becoming completely lifeless. This is extremely sad and almost makes me cry when I think about the context of the scenario.

I think the robot did kill his creator. Because this is based off of Frankenstein, and we see the murder weapon left right next to the body.
I think the robot might have been experiencing anger for the first time and acted ignorantly. After realizing what he'd done, and comprehending his actons. He drop the murder weapon out of shock and ran from the scene of the crime. Feeling the pain of what he did, he keeps running. Trying to get as far away from his mistake as possible. Till he is sitting on a mountain, away from everyone wallowing in pain.

I also did read the book, this Easter egg is amazing: the monster in fact burnt himself in the arctic at the end of the book, that's what I remember.

It's actually about Nikola Tesla who actually worked in the place that made the first ever robot around 1930s, and he also was working on the technology that would allow electricity to be conducted through thin air, the tests were a failure and he spend all his money on it and no one wanted to fund him anymore so he ended up dying alone and depressed in a hotel room, but yeah, all the events this character goes through are similar to the ones Tesla lived, although the overdramatized version of how they brought the robot to life does take inspiration in Frankenstein.

Just finished this part. The way the music stops and the robot falls to the ground, I have never laughed so hard in a video game. So anti climatic I was half expecting a boss fight. Rockstar is awesome.

@@Gambino_Crime_Family so have you found any videos with it starting off as arthur then john finishing the strangers quest? like with Jack finishing things up for john in the first game and they had dialog where jack would say things on the line of "my father wanted me to give you this" or "you knew my father, john marston" and stuff like that

Yeah it’s the same dialogue, I started a lot of missions and finished off as John - when you start another as John he just introduces himself as Arthur’s friend then the mission continues like it would with the same dialogue

My playthrough: Left it on the mountain alive.
I think that the professor got a bit carried away and notifying the “morons” who doubted him about his greatest accomplishment leading them to prove those simpletons that they are all wrong but little did he know man kind would kill for that so they could be rich and famous for his idea especially during that time period man kind ambushed the professor and he didn’t have enough time to react and as results defending himself with a machete but I’m going to say he was gun down (which probably explains why the blade has no blood on it or any blood trails) sacrificing his life and giving his son the opportunity to escape to live, learn, and grow in this shaded gray world for perhaps probably revenge but little do I know that no matter where his son go some humans would constantly have the intention of using him to benefiting themselves leaving him useless. he was brought into the world to see his creator annihilated by humans greed and jealousy running and hiding undetected by any human in fear because the first thing he saw after being alive was a insane human who killed his creator. Onto a snowy mountain that’s probably not colder than his tin metal or after what he just experienced and he sits alone wondering if he exist for humans to killed or help him... And the last thing he sees is another human who killed him.
Then again I could be wrong maybe he did kill his owner, maybe there’s history that we do not know of that they shared together.
