awesome! i had never heard of matchering up until now! maybe i'll use your instance, or maybe i'll set up my own
when it comes to mastering, i'm definitely no expert, so the approaches using matchering would be a great idea for my workflow. generally in my own masters i just have an eq and soft clipper, taking care of everything else in the mix. maybe a change would be nice

Definitely! I like that I can throw multiple references at it fast, compare them, work on my mix, rinse, repeat. It's a lovely tool for quickly throwing a bunch of different options at your ears and deciding what is working and what isn't.

Very informative video thank you. Just one criticism, what frame rate are you recording your video at, you seem to be skipping frames. Maybe it's a problem in post?

@@paulov9626 it's my phone overheating recording 4k video at high bitrates for 30+ minutes. I'll upgrade my camera when I can financially, but this is what I've got for now! Thanks for watching.

@@LinuxCreative Why not just shoot at 1080p for now? If you use high enough bit rate at 30FPS, then I doubt most of your viewers will see much difference. I'll bet that a vast majority watch on mobile devices anyway.
Then when you have your new setup, switch to 4K.

@@paulov9626 I've tried 1080 on the phone and it looked much worse. I'm doing my best! 😊

@@LinuxCreative Thank you and I especially appreciate the way you approach your music. You don't just blindly use the latest "flavour of the month" plugin, DAW or workflow because it's hip or has a fancy GUI.
You use your technical knowledge and creativity to not be a slave to some corporation's new eye-candy.
As a DSP programmer and lover of music (would not call myself a muso though), I can agree with you.
It's all about the algorithm/s and what they do to the audio.
I have heard and used open-source and/or free plugins that rival the fancy paid for ones.
The GUI is nothing more than fancy packaging that just eats up CPU cycles and contributes nothing to the audio.
"In the mix, no one can see your interface". 🤣

i don't need to pay for online mastering because i can literally learn anything about mastering (i have a book from 2008 that has an entire chapter dedicated to this process), get some plugins (stock plugins in your DAW are fine, as long as you have the knowledge about how to use them) and do some trial and error (may suck at first but still)

Wholeheartedly agree with this process. Thanks for watching!

have you been able to use reaper as a video editor in debian? I can't use it as a video editor because it says that it's not finding the ffmpeg and vlc installation path in $PATH

I have run into this before, however I don't currently use Reaper to edit video. I hope this discussion helps: forums.cockos.com/showthread.php?p=2714408
