Pet peeve of mine that the berserkers don't get 1 armour in their profile. I mean it's objectively incorrect that they're wearing no armour, they're wearing a helmet.
Technically, I think it's actually better for them to have true zero armor, because there's a weird bug in the code that Arachir Galadurthon mentioned in one of his videos, where a unit that has zero armor actually jumps to four armor when you give them a blacksmith armor upgrade
Thank you for another fantastic faction overview video, and FINALLY somebody else makes note of the Uruk-hai bodyguard having worse stats than the standard uruk-hai infantry. It would maybe make more sense to give them worse attack stats but give them armour piercing (they are wielding huge cleavers after all). If nothing else then please just give them the same defence skill at least 😅
One thing that I'd be interested in knowing if possible, especially for the Medieval 2 engine (which is the better combat engine of most tw games) are unit characteristics that slightly impact attack speed and animations. Uruk Hai would have brutal aggression as a characteristic so they'd have more devastating attack animations, kill animations, and wilder aggressive motions. It wouldn't alter their stats at all, but just the overall function of the unit would make them more effective. Someone like swan Knights would be stoic noblemen, and they'd have more defensive counter strike animations and kill animations. Would be a whole new dynamic to the game with unit character variants throughout the races of middle earth.
Yeah that would be amazing, but they’re unfortunately locked into the available animations of the base game, which is why the dwarves and goblins still suddenly grow to human size for kill animations because that’s what the animation parameters are locked too.
Yeah the Uruk Hai Bodyguards need some work. They certainly should be better than the generic Uruk Hai infantry, perhaps giving the Bodyguards armor piercing or something if you guys don't want to significantly improve their stats. Also the Berserker bodyguards for the 2 other starting generals other than Saruman are awfully weak for being bodyguard units, especially considering 1 of those generals is the faction heir. I get that they're Orcs and as such are aggressive in nature and all that, so the unit itself fits nicely. However for a bodyguard unit it's just too squishy, especially when it comes to your top 2 'lieutenants'.
Always thought it was weird Lurtz didn't have an archer bodyguard like an upgraded version of the Uruk Hai Archers. But I get why since you guys would have to create another custom unit for him to do that when slots are at a premium.

@@mrfisher1072 They are the games glass cannon. They can tear apart most units but will end up being torn apart themselves if you aren’t taking care of them
Personally I'd prefer the Nazg-hai pre-nerf given you're forced to fight Mordor just to get them. Although maybe it also makes giving Sauron the ring more viable to keep them off your lawn given Nazg-hai might not be worth it.
How strong where these guys before? From my testing they are still very powerful. They even managed to win a duel against Sauron, they quite handily beat the Eregion Smiths (propably the strongest "normal" melee-infantry) and they managed to bomb 2 Mumakil to death before getting stomped by the remaining ones.
Ents are quite easy with just half stack of reavers, they are just too big and stay stuck. that's the easiest and cheapest build and you can send that awat after that. Just wait them bombard the walls, stay in courtyard, when they pour in the holes, charge in en masse with reavers.
Would be nice to see a “nice route” for Sauruman where he becomes the one of many coulours by claiming the ring and defeats Sauron for the good people.

@jesselozano5608 haha I never noticed that. I wished Rome 2 would have implemented it though. Maybe for medieval 3.
@@madwellmusic8995 this is not the direction total war has been going.

Poor berserkers, you forgot about them :)

Unless you are lucky with them, they tend to die fast against ranged and cavalry units. Especially shock cav
@lordadorable1140 which is a bummer because they used to be anti cav.

Instead of giving Lurtz berserkers, why not reflect his archery skill with a missile bodyguard? Give him Uruk-Hai Crossbows or something
It looks like Isengard’s crossbows have been nerfed since this video, since they now appear to be Low accuracy.

Just a question since I'm playing as Isengard currently, do the Nazgul respawn if they die, as they do for Mordor?

Should’ve showed the Nazgûl script
Imo those dunland orthanc guards and sentries looked better in v4.6 :/
Always a fan favourite
Im intrested in the math for the unit retraining cost reduction. Is it possible to get the retraining cost down to basically 0?
I am laughing with your dog 😂😂
Where are the Berserkers?
What is Ugluk's BG? You forgot to show it.
Armored berserkers
what if i attack dunland as Isengard?
Ents are ez to cheese I just sent 5 unit cav and took out the catapults end of battle
