Well, you actually can compare. I'll show you! Most of the other reactions to this performance by Dimash are done with more emotion and a respect for the vocal agility that Dimash has. You show little interest or down right ambivalence to it instead. BIG difference in how enjoyable (or not) the reaction is. Some of the other comments ask why you are doing these reactions. I can't read peoples minds, but it does give me pause.
In all honesty, I really respect every artist's achievement. But when I watched Vita's performance after seeing Dimash's performance beforehand, it sounded to me (and I don't mean that disrespectful, it's my honest feeling about it) like a little mouse responding to a lion's roar. Be fair and objective when comparing 2 artists. And Dimash does it LIVE while Vitas does it mostly lip sync most of the time and Vitas looks struggling with those high notes while Dimash sings it easily with no tension.
In order to really compare, the least you have to do is take 2 live performances. But in this case it would be impossible because Vitas never performed the high notes part at least live, and they are obviously computer modified.

After hearing all the to do about Vitas, I decided to check him out. I thought his version seemed to be almost a parody. I don’t think he went up as many octaves as Dimash. Dimash also added a deeper, fuller, richer sound. Dimash wasn’t aware his father was in the audience, so he was a little cheekier, flirtier than he normally would have been.

He has been lipsyncing to the same studio versions for 20 years b) Dimash sings it in full head voice whereas Vitas sings it in a rather thin falsetto (Vitas is generally a falsetto singer concerning high notes.. Dimash chooses between a light mix, full head voice, falsetto, flageolet and whistle for his high notes while Vitas has only learned to sing high notes in falsetto... he does not know how to sing high in mix, how to sing in head voice etc.. every note above Bb4 is always sung in falsetto by Vitas. ...which is not that much of a surprise as Dimash is highly trained (he has a university degree in classical singing and another one in contemporary singing and is about to get his PhD in Musicology) while Vitas never had any formal singing training) Yes, Dimash goes higher, but it's not that much of a surprise either because his range is much bigger (C#1 - A1 - C6 - F#6 - D8 vs Vitas' E2 - Bb4 - Eb6) But Dimash's versatility and control are what impresses me more thannthat he went higher.. he e.g. added much more dynamics to the song, added staccati on the D6 and added some classically sung notes) Best wishes from Austria
When you are mentioning the audience members, the ones who are seen in small groups are fellow competitors, not audience members. Plus the audience is really all top people in the Chinese music industry, who are judging the competition ( I Am Singer 2017). You might find it interesting to know that Vitas forbade Dimash from ever singing Opera 2 again.
There is an analysis done on both singers, Dimash and Vitas, Dimash comes out on top. Personally, I find Vitas voice too tinny and he is clearly miming, in a lot of his performances. The guy who wrote/produced Opera2, has banned Dimash from singing it again. Ouch.!!
You can compare because vitas can not sing the chorus live, obviously you must’ve known when you watched him, infact it’s well known in Russia that vitas did not even sing the chorus at all, someone else did, whereas Dimash sung 100% live, all of it and he went higher3 times and vitas, or vitas stand in went higher only once, so yes you can compare, Dimash sung the entire song live, so he wins by a mile

He is a great singer.
When you are mentioning the audience members, the ones who are seen in small groups are fellow competitors, not audience members. Plus the audience is really all top people in the Chinese music industry, who are judging the competition ( I Am Singer 2017).
You might find it interesting to know that Vitas forbade Dimash from ever singing Opera 2 again.
There is an analysis done on both singers, Dimash and Vitas, Dimash comes out on top. Personally, I find Vitas voice too tinny and he is clearly miming, in a lot of his performances.
The guy who wrote/produced Opera2, has banned Dimash from singing it again. Ouch.!!
Vitas never allowed Dimash to perform this song again. Having heard Vitas sing this song, I know the reason why....

You can compare because vitas can not sing the chorus live, obviously you must’ve known when you watched him, infact it’s well known in Russia that vitas did not even sing the chorus at all, someone else did, whereas Dimash sung 100% live, all of it and he went higher3 times and vitas, or vitas stand in went higher only once, so yes you can compare, Dimash sung the entire song live, so he wins by a mile
