    This video we will show you how to perform a "reset" which will erase the pairing either on your bluetooth or ant+. However this does not appear to reset all of the counters on the device. This method seems to be undocumented but has been relayed via garmin support techs.
    Press and HOLD the button until you get into SLEEP MODE.
    Now press the button FOUR TIMES rapidly. If you are successful you will see the current firmware version.
    PRESS & HOLD the button until the display goes dark and once you release the button and/or press it again you should see the PAIR indicator. #avoidingchores #garmin

    Thank you so much 4 years after your post! I was about to throw away my legacy Vivofit which can pair but can't sync. Your tutorial has helped recover this workhorse. I'm only changing my battery after 4 years of daily usage! Thanks

    Like the guy below, I've been trying to get this thing to work for years off and on. And changing my battery and doing this reset fixed it. It's back to new.

    thanks for making this tutorial, totally helped me. I spent hours trying to figure it out just by forums, then this vid came up during a search and worked like a charm on the first try. Also, not sure if it was my luck but it also cleared all the data as intended. thank you!

    Brilliant! My Vivofit would not pair after trying everything *Garmin* tells you to do. This worked!! Thanks so much!... Oops, spoke too soon. Pairing doesn't "stick". App says it's successful, but device still shows Pair, not sync, and when I look at the app, the device isn't there...

    To reset for Daylight Savings Ending or Beginning or to change time when traveling to different time zones anytime, first make sure your mobile is displaying the desired time. Open the Garmin App on the mobile phone and change the Vivofit device settings to 24 hours format. Then synch the Vivofit to the phone. Now the correct time will appear in 24 hour mode on the Vivofit. Then open app again to change format back to the 12 hour format. Synch again. Your device will have the correct time to match your phone.

    is there anyway to turn it off complety? i upgrade to a vivo smart and i have my vivo fit 2 still turn, i haven't found a way to turn it off? could you please help?:) thank you

    My Vivofit has lost it's SLEEP mode. If I hold the button it goes to PAIR and then screen goes blank. Any ideas?

      Danielle Howse I know that the latest firmware has included automatic sleep detection, I'm sure if that meant removing the ability for you to force it. But if it goes blank, it may be something hardware related that is not working right. If you are still under warranty, I'd look at contact Garmin and see what they can do.

    I just got my vivofit yesterday and I'm a little confused about the calorie counter. When I woke up my device said that I've already burned about 590 calories. I know I move around a lot when I sleep but can that be accurate? What does that mean?

      Sara M one thing you can is verify your user profile, make sure that the vitals are accurate. You think about it, if you did 8 hours of sleep, you still burn calories over that period. I think I heard a podcast about this on radiolab or NPR. Basically when you sleep you're converting co2 into heat = weight loss = calories burnt.

    the clock setting disappeared from my vivofit yesterday when i synced it. How do I get it back? I synced it again but no luck.

      This is what happened to mine. It is syncing, but does not show the time, also I am not sure if I am supposed to pair it. I get a code for the pairing, but the phone will only get through 1/4 of the pairing and then it disconnects. I'm am currently trying to "delete Vivofit from Garmin Express then pairing it again could resolve your syncing issue.
      Please try the following steps to delete your Vivofit from Garmin Express. Once the device is deleted, please pair the device back to Express.
      1) Launch Garmin Express.
      2) On the top left of the Garmin Express screen, be sure your device is showing.
      3) On the top right of the page, click on Device. It may be grayed out, but you can click it.
      4) Once you are on the Device page, next to the picture of your device, click on Delete Device from Express.
      5) A new window should appear. Select Remove from Garmin Connect. Select Confirm.
      To add your device to Garmin Express, launch Garmin Express and you can perform 1 of the 2 options below.
      1) If you launch Garmin Express on your computer and you do not have any other devices added to Garmin Express, you should be prompted to click on the GET STARTED LINK. Once you click GET STARTED and your device is connected to your new computer, please Add Device and sync to your existing Garmin Connect account.
      2) If you're able to launch Garmin Express without the GET STARTED link, on the top left of the page, you may see a picture of a device, please click on that box, a drop down should appear then click on Add New Device. "
      I found out that you will not lose your data.
      I have not solved it yet. If I do, I will let you know.

    everything is synched.. i still cannot see the time or any option.. it just shows pair

      Hmmm if it still shows PAIR - probably isn't. Remove or "forget" the vivofit from your smartphone. turn off the bluetooth, wait a few seconds, then turn it back on. It *should* pair up and display properly

      +Jim Cyr now it shows 888:88 many symbols.. if i click it turns off the it reads pair and 8762 .. m angry. i just want to see the time

    My laptop (windows) has all of a sudden rejected my ant stick and says that it does not recognise the device and has disabled it. Can anyone tell me how I can get it to work again?

    This hasn't worked for me. I have vivofit and it was syncing with Connect on my samsung tablet. It stopped syncing, so I reinstalled connect, which didn't solve the problem. Then I thought I'd try removing the vivofit from Connect and re-pairing it. I won't pair. I have tried pairing using the steps in this video, but it still doesn't pair. Vivofit flashes between "PAIR" and a 4-digit number. Connect says, "Sorry, vivofit was not found." Any suggestions?

      +Viola Goodacre might be s long shot but maybe remove some connect again and turn off Bluetooth and reboot your phone

      Thanks Jim. Unfortunately, I ddn't get to try your suggestion because I managed to get it to pair again by pairing through the phone's settings and not through the pairing feature of the Connect app. It is working for me now. Thanks a lot for this post. It was very helpful.

    I replaced the battery for my vivofit but the screen is still blank. What's going on please.

      just make sure the battery is properly inserted with the positive side facing up (if I recall). If that doesn't work, contact garmin support.

      I would contact garmin support. they may ask you to do this again with the charging cable attached.

    that won't work for me. I want to reset the time since we had daylight savings here and the vivofit did not update to the correct time.

      +joan napolitano the time on your device should update after you sync typically. You shouldn't need to reset it.

      Yes I sync 'd a few times my activity updates correctly. The Android app gives the correct time but the band still is an hour ahead.

      +joan napolitano if possible, try updating via the computer instead of the mobile. Just checking the manual and it confirms that it should adjust the time every time you sync.

      +Claire Sleamon Reset doesn't break your device, perhaps something else was wrong with the hardware. I suggest you bring it back to Garmin under your warranty if it's under a year old.
