  • The Platters were one of the most successful vocal groups of the early rock and roll era. Their distinctive sound was a bridge between the pre-rock Tin Pan Alley tradition and the burgeoning new genre. The act went through several personnel changes, with the most successful incarnation comprising lead tenor Tony Williams, David Lynch, Paul Robi, Herb Reed, and Zola Taylor.
The group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990

Now (2023) I appreciate their talent so much.

I think the creepiest part was trying to approach his mansion afterwards in free roam, and you immediately start hearing it play louder and louder until it just makes you shut down and walk away.
Just the fact that you can't even step foot near the mansion even after Jacob's death and liberating the Whitetail mountains because he fucked your brain up so much with that mental conditioning the song still strongly affects you.

Helped me after being beaten down and bled. I dedicate this to you with love and respect. I miss you.

Tony Williams was one of my unofficial vocal coaches
Tony Williams had the most beautiful tenor voice that I've ever heard

After seeing “Why Do Fools Fall in Love,” I’ve been so in love with this song! I always imagine Frankie Lyemon becoming this star but as times goes by he’s nothing :(

Tony Williams singing lead and the group's singing harmony was one of the best groups back in the day. Tony is always spot on with his melodic voice. Now to play more of their great music on youtube. By the way, I believe that was actress Lisa Gaye that was sitting the audience.

When I was a kid my dad got me going on Elvis, The Beatles, Credence but he said there was only ONE band that never had a bad song, The Platters. He was right.

Beautiful song by The Platters, dating from 1955, so released two years before my birth year 1957. As a DJ I played 'Only You' at every party for twenty years in a row. Unforgettable song !
