My life is going through huge changes in 2025. I just learned I’m having a baby and my goal is to live in the moment and with intention! The Evergreen mentality is something I’m taking into 2025 and this next chapter as a mom ❤
Congratulations! It goes by so so fast. Enjoy every single moment. Even the hard ones. I've learned that. It feels like I just had my daughter and now she's almost 2.🥹
While listening to you today a bell just rang in my head. You have become a “Very OLD SOUL. You’ve matured so gracefully. So nice to see. I’m really enjoying you and your new outlook on life..😊
It’s so incredible to see your life evolve in front of our eyes. You found, in front of an audience, your true values and communicate it in such an inspiring way. Thank you for allowing us (or at least me) to see mid winter in such a beautiful light 🤍
I literally just put my Simple Abundance book back on our library shelf. The book is huge, so I understand the 33+ hours to listen to it. I pull it off the shelf here and there when I'm looking for inspiration and I have Evergreen on my bedside table 😊. I started reading it a few nights ago even though I received it months ago. I wanted to wait until I could sit and enjoy it on these cold winter evenings. Your writing and your way with words is so easy to follow. I'm ADHD and dyslexic, so it takes a certain book to grab my attention. Kudos! Thank you for making the time to write it during your busy schedule! I had to turn down an offer to create a coffee table book this past fall due to no time. That was a huge eye opener for me, especially since I share how to live a life of simple fine living. I let the tail wag the dog in 2024 when it came to work and social media. Not this year though! PS: Congratulation on the purchase of your horse!
Oh Lydia I just loved this vlog. I’ve been feeling soo low and you always brighten my mood. I’m gonna go foraging and make a beautiful arrangement like yours (for Christmas I foraged a fallen branch with what I like to call fluffy greenery on and hung it from my cottage beam and wrapped lights around it, added dried foliage and baubles it looked so lovely and cost nothing). You inspire me so much. I have my Victorian greenhouse because of you, I have the love of equestrian and country fashion because of you. I’ve been reading your book, first chapter Mid Winter and I have now put it on my book stand ready for the next chapter. It’s like my bible if you like for all the seasons. So I’d like to thank you for always lifting my mood 🤎🍂🍁
Your area of woodland is always beautiful but never be scared to pair it right back and occasionally clear the undergrowth as it gets quite choked over the years. It helps the ground to aerate and the new growth will sprout back in greater abundance, which you will absolutely love in the long run. I’ve loved the foraging aspect of this video and it came with perfect timing for myself and some friends who will be heading out soon, to start our new ‘learning journey’ with our local, certified forager. ❤
Dear Lydia, I‘ve just bought my first ever house with my fiancé and you just motivate me so much to get into gardening! You are such a big inspiration in my life and your book Evergreen helped me through a very tough year last year. Thank you for making such comforting content. Much love from Austria 🤍
You and your videos are my “interesting way to hunker down in the evening and cozy up but also be productive”. For me, watching your videos is a form of learning something new. To see the world through your eyes (or through your camera 😂) brings me so much joy 🫶 thank you Lydia! And sorry for my bad English, greetings from Germany ❤️
I intentionally set myself free 5 years ago and have never looked back and life got sooooo much better. Being intentional with everything and absolutely nothing is the key ❤
Loved the arrangements I’ve been waiting to see what you might bring indoors as I’ve been looking at bulb arrangements and maybe thinking it’s not quite right yet so will definitely be going on my own little foraging trip!
I have a first edition.🧡I read Simple Abundance when newly released in 1995. I was a young wife and mother, new to the beautiful small picturesque town of Danville in Northern California. The timing was perfect. I devoured the book and its journals and workbooks. Joyfully applied her wisdom to my home and lifestyle. Hearing you mention the title brought back🥹 a flood of memories and emotions🥰 Enjoy young Lydia.
I like your quote “ to have a good time, when it’s not so easy to have a good time” Looking forward to more of your videos on how you are maneuvering through midwinter. This time of year is usually very hard for me so I like your positive maneuvering outlook during this season 😊👍🏼 ☁️🥶🧣
Lydia I have my husband sat watching with me.He loves your woods.Thank you for bringing such awesome vlog. I think it’s one of my favorite & yes I will be bringing outdoors in & checking the website too, Ali we missed you. Excited to see your real life vlogs.Thank you Beautiful absolutely amazing!!
finding the people who can have a good time when it is not so easy to have a good time... That is basicaly the best criterium to pick up your friends and the best principle to live your life!
Your arrangement looks beautiful! The little spiky seed heads are burdock, as in “dandelion and…”. They’re like velcro and regularly get completely wedged in my spaniels ear hair!
Love the hallway arrangement it’s perfect less is more 🤗. Bolly 🤣😂 sorry I’m not laughing at you , the look said absolutely everything. Take care everyone x
Noone can always be happy of course. But it is nice to always be striving toward the joy in life. Sometimes it's just time to cry with a friend who's crying or laugh with one who is laughing, or else we are unbalanced. 😊❤ Great time for relaxing walks to reposition all our thoughts. You and Ali are such a sweet couple.
Lydia you need to make your own wreath this year, with all the beautiful things that you have on your walks. It’s such an enjoyable activity and watching you put together your foraged bits and make them into a gorgeous display, I know you would get so much pleasure from it.❤️
Ooo! The Jasmine Awards! Congratulations! I’m a perfume addict, and lucky enough to have been able to meet several perfumers. One, Mandy Aftel, a natural perfumer, here in N. California, was a judge a few years ago. Cool! By the way, I love Persolaise! 😁
how funny that you are literally standing in the rainbow and out seeking your foraging treasures. One of the things I have come to realise is the power of feminine energy in feeling good (nature, beauty, fashion, cooking, slow pace etc). Many people have been spending years in masculine energy (sport, business, gym, fast paced, action etc). I think women are becoming more and more slow paced and subconciously moving back into their own and would explain why I love this channel VERY much! I feel very excited about your journey! best of luck, Lydia and Ali X :)))))
The dried arrangement looks beautiful, 100% brings the outdoors in. Only would suggest that next time you •lay out so you see what you have from each thing You knew now that it was for the corner in living room, & there's a light & a frame So next time go bit lower and then higher. Its not breaking it down (i said it is gorgeous) , just 2 tips that's it. ✌🏻🐔 Added: past night it was -15° (Belgium), England is wet and LA is on fire (looks like a wore zone😢)
I've found that people who have overcome genuine misery in their lives and made an active choice to enjoy life are also those who don't complain about the small stuff. 27:00
I watch a avid gardener on youtube and she uses a light coating of vermiculite on top of her Seeds after planting. This prevents moulding and helps control moisture. The site is garden answer. Hope this helps.
Good afternoon beautiful lydia babe i hope you ali and the fur babies are well its so lovely to see you again thanks so much for sharing your wonderful vlog take great care babes ❤❤❤❤❤
Lydia, I have always been a fan of the lemon plants you have in pots. I have tried to grow lemons in pots, but they only reach the flowering stage. Do you have any tips you could recommend?
Lydia you should introduce Ali to driving horses. It is quite an elegant and dignified sport. Having yiur own horse and carriage to enjoy would be enjoyable for both of you.
@@lydiamillen I literally came looking for this info in the comments! I didn't realize they were different but you and google have confirmed otherwise!
Dear Lydia - after 14 years of living in a garden frequented by Montjac I am sorry to say that they are a deer you need to be careful with. They have very sharp horns & razor like teeth which can slice a dog open if they encounter each other. They will also devastate your garden - they eat roses, shrubs, every type of vegetables summer & winter. We have fenced our garden to keep them out which has been marginally successful - they push, chew & jump their way in. I love them but only in the wilder regions of my garden. Julie xx
Thistle, pronounced the way Ali did, is the American pronunciation. I smile at your winter weather , we measure winter in inches, if not feet of snow. Lovely content. I was going to mention the equestrian chic thing and someone using that exact same picture of you and the horse as an example. You beat me to it. 😮
Hi from america!!! Do you have any advice on how i can make a special garden on a balcony in an apartment? I am surrounded by woods but have no yard. I love what you have created and i love gardening. Thank you!!!
11 minutes in and I was happy listening to you then 😳…when did you paint your internal window frames? How did you paint your windows? I need to have your window frames 🤗..sorry for interrupting. Please continue.x
Just from what she said about enjoyable people in 26:10 really needs another perspective. You can only be happy if you can endure not being happy and not avoiding unhappies. Sometimes I feel like Lydia is trying too hard not to be sad, ever.
Being unhappy and sad at times is a part of life and shouldn’t be something to be scared or ashamed of. Unfortunately some people have suffered such trauma in their lives that it will always impact their life in some way and even with counselling there can be very down times and dark days (I speak from personal experience).
Has anyone found Lyd's Country Home and Interiors cover mag in the US? I've been going to Barnes and Noble every few days, and they still only have the December issue. I keep coming home with more and more books but no magazines 😂
It must be utterly draining to have to constantly apologise for doing things. To basically dumb yourself down (regarding the flower arranging) in order to head the bullies off at the pass. Please don't feel you have to do this Lydia. Ignore the haters. Please xo

Your long format vlogs fill me with joy, Lydia, thank you! 🤍
Picks up seeds: "My actual version of crack." 🤣🤣 (Mine was seeds, then bags also)
The best vice. 👌
Carrie doing Bolly's voice! I'm dying.
Enjoyed all the nature and time with Aly. Of course, always love your sense of fashion and zest for living your best life! Xx
Watched this video on my lunch break at work today and it completely calmed my nervous system after back to back client meetings. Thank you Lydia!

Lydia!! You’ve hit 1 million! Yeah !
I looooove the winter foraged arrangements. I’m inspired to do the same into my pottery around the house. Just beautiful!!!

You’re right they are teasels 👍Thistles are sharp edged with flowers.
Love your arrangements so much!

1:16:00 I have a turntable that I use when making floral arrangements, it's easier to see all sides when making it.
Absolutely genius 🥰🥰🥰

Beautiful absolutely amazing!!
Thank you for a lovely vlog Lydia! In january I always pick alder tree branches and put in a big vase! I love their little mini cones! So pretty!❤
finding the people who can have a good time when it is not so easy to have a good time... That is basicaly the best criterium to pick up your friends and the best principle to live your life!
Lydia you are so inspirational… thank you for sharing all this with us.. and your arrangement is beautiful 😍
Oh my did I enjoy this vlog! Thank you from São Paulo, Brazil
Your arrangement looks beautiful! The little spiky seed heads are burdock, as in “dandelion and…”. They’re like velcro and regularly get completely wedged in my spaniels ear hair!
Your home is absolutely beautiful Lydia, and the deer in your garden adorable 🥰…ps the arrangement in your living room is fabulous 😊

I am absolutely intrigued by the steps in the garden by the brick wall! 😍
Love the hallway arrangement it’s perfect less is more 🤗.
Bolly 🤣😂 sorry I’m not laughing at you , the look said absolutely everything.
Take care everyone x
Can I ask... what has become of Mr Gordon's videos? He hasn't released one in over a month.
I love ❤ how much you love where you live. It’s nothing like coming home to a house that makes your heart sing ❤️
Wowzer that was a long vlog. Started watching it commuting from London and finished it sitting by the fire at home. Keep them coming x
Lydia you should read, The Finnish Way- what you're describing in this vlog is called Sisu, or finding joy in doing hard(ish) things.
00:50 right? I remember Ali used to not be down with the morning walks and nature 😂 so happy he's coming around ❤
Noone can always be happy of course. But it is nice to always be striving toward the joy in life. Sometimes it's just time to cry with a friend who's crying or laugh with one who is laughing, or else we are unbalanced. 😊❤ Great time for relaxing walks to reposition all our thoughts. I’m loving your foraged arrangements Lydia & I’m so inspired to have a go myself ☺️ .. & isn’t the word teasel just a lovely sounding word 🥰

Best way to spend my lunch! You are such a inspiration ❤
Amazing job!
Love your mind set, the roots of life is the natur 🌺☘️
Thank you Mrs Millen Gordon for this very relaxing vlog. It was filled with gratitude and joy and peace. Thank you. I just loved it. 💕💕💕
What ever you do with love , will be perfect ❤
Bolly's face was so funny!❤ Priceless!
When you said foraging I thought you were going mushroom hunting, too cold for it though and I was wondering… then.. 😂😂😂
I loved the foraging nature is so beautiful and quite captivating. 😊❤❤❤
Another wonderful vlog 🩷
Have you lost the backing or lower pearl of your left earring?

7:13 I didn’t realize Ali was holding branches and I though 💬 why is Lydia yelling at that ostrich!? 😂 while you were far from him of course.
Have you ever made Eggs Goldenrod? It is absolutely delicious especially when it’s cold outside.
I watch a avid gardener on youtube and she uses a light coating of vermiculite on top of her Seeds after planting. This prevents moulding and helps control moisture. The site is garden answer. Hope this helps.
Laura at Garden Answer is just the best. I watch her every morning with my first cup of tea.
As long as it feels nice 😊
I would change a vase for the dry twigs arrangement for little contrast, a bit dark in the corner
pleasantly amazing
Ali's newish hair makes him look like a cross between Harry Styles and Dominic West.
Fantastic vlog loved it totally just inspiring and interesting content 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿😍😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️❤️💯💯💯💯🫶🏿🫶🏿🫶🏿🫶🏿🫶🏿🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
you might think the deer a sweet this winter but they will return when everything is in full glory this summer.
Not “sparse,” Lydia. Sculptural.
Wonderful wintry vlog. ❤
Thank you for sharing what Ali is watching on TV Slow Horses. Now I’ve got something new to watch. I think you’d enjoy Bad Sisters
I couldn’t understand what “theesals” were until Ali said thistle 🤣 that’s what we in America call them.
Not the same plant. Please google both and you will see they look very different
Lydia you should introduce Ali to driving horses. It is quite an elegant and dignified sport. Having yiur own horse and carriage to enjoy would be enjoyable for both of you.
I agree with Ally, I’d pronounce them the exact same!
No no teasels and thistles are different 🥰
@@lydiamillen I literally came looking for this info in the comments! I didn't realize they were different but you and google have confirmed otherwise!
I know it doesn't happen by accident but I hope you are enjoying these moments as much as we enjoy sharing them with you 💞
"Putter offer er" is a "Procrastinater"!😂😘

Lóve the vlog and lóve the colab with Mr. Curly Wurly Ali Gordon 😂❤

I pronounce it thistle & I am English. Never heard anyone else pronounce it as Lydia does but she is up on these things more than I.
A Teazle is a different plant to a Thistle. They are different words, describing different things xxx
It is wild Teasel different from Thistles
They are Teazle’s not Thistles.
@fiona2989 oh right I am not v knowledgeable about such things. As I said Lydia is far more so.
Hi from america!!! Do you have any advice on how i can make a special garden on a balcony in an apartment? I am surrounded by woods but have no yard. I love what you have created and i love gardening. Thank you!!!
Love bolly moo moo ❤❤❤
We in the USA call them thistles too just like Ali!!
You both are two beautiful glamorous goofballs with your twigs and I love it!
Brilliant video Lydia! Loved it❤

Lydia how do you do your messy bun always looks fab xx
Enjoy 👍🦋👍🦋👍🦋
Where can we find your bone broth recipe?
Has anyone found Lyd's Country Home and Interiors cover mag in the US? I've been going to Barnes and Noble every few days, and they still only have the December issue. I keep coming home with more and more books but no magazines 😂
The beauty of nature that we get to see and appreciate every day is created for us by our Father in Heaven. How lucky are we. Truely blessed🙏
🎉🎉🎉
❤
It's n America we say thisels. Just like Ali says it. Lol
It must be utterly draining to have to constantly apologise for doing things. To basically dumb yourself down (regarding the flower arranging) in order to head the bullies off at the pass.
Please don't feel you have to do this Lydia. Ignore the haters. Please xo

Is it affecting your life ????
For someone who can afford it and worries about her appearance so much I just don’t get why you would get your pants hemmed to look tailored and put together❤
Who can live up to the perfect life you portray?
It’s Lydia’s life, she’s not asking anyone to do anything she’s doing.
Sounds like a ‘you’ problem 🌸
It's not a competition jinglebells.
Much a do about nothing!
Some of the best blogs are.!!
Such a beautiful vlog 🌸
