when you use phoenix transform your hitbox doesn't change and you get mobility buff unlike other fruits so there is no actual reason to turn off transformation mid-fight except if ur low on energy.

Phoenix is good but with the new dragon buff the meter goes up as you do damage in transformation plus all the moves got buffed they all do more damage than they already did which is insanely OP they will probably nerf it but with all these new fruits getting Godlike powers dough is going to be the next one they probably won't.

I think phoenix v2 is better but PvP really doesnt solve anything unless you have the exact same skill level in the fruits as in you have a skill of 15 with one fruit and the other has a skill of 15 with another fruit otherwise your opponent can be better with the fruit there using and you would be worst with the fruit your using
