the girl surely didnt really knew Traxx... his skills and label and vibe are just unquestionable. There's simply nobody in the world more real and authentic and addicted to jak.
Priceless interview, there! Going to start following this page. I think Traxx and the young lady were trying to express kind of the same thing, but it just didn't click between them.
Top quality. Funny. It sez at the start Melvin wanted a mate coz he couldn't do it on his own. Then he does it on his own.... The guy knows himself. A true maverick.
What you fail to realize, is that mel has always cared about music of this nature. It took him and he will never come back. That is why he can take the weakest track, and beat it up.
Digital vs analog recordings, - analog tape machines will sound better in any home studio anyday, - JUST TRY IT AND YOU"LL HEAR THE DIFFERENCE!!!! But using computers(ableton/logic) to send midi to old 80's synths and drum machines is the best thing ever, - the process maybe different, but the audio that comes out of the machines is exactly the same signal audio path.
Alright so after watching this, Melvin ruined the interview, (obvious to everyone I think). Totally everyone got off-point over the whole analog vs. digital and no one even cared about it in the first place. We had a great interviewer, Dabrye is centered as can be, but man.. Melvin had his shoe in his mouth the whole night. Awesome and insightful interview nontheless
What is so special about using analog? The human factor, 100% ears and no visual feed back. Which might suprise you how different the outcome is. In positive way of course :)
Dirk Rumpff yeah sorry for being negative. But surely if youre gonna interview him the least you could do is look up his Discogs page? Also, you have a Nation record under a weird name, are you not just gonna be curious about which of Cantu, JTC, Traxx, Wanzer etc might be behind it anyway? Ach well, probably im just jealous that i didnt get to interview these legends...

JTC: "Wah! I'm taking my records and going home!" @ 45min 45sec

Touch and feel, and then if we get scientists down there, you can't synthesize it, even if you want to say the human ears can't hear a difference ;D
Melvin Oliphant got on my damn nerves. Damn, let Dabrye speak. These dudes practically had to beg to get a damn track played. LOL
TRAXX!!!!
free sausages!
"ViLLan X, I have one of those records, I didn't realise it was you!" ....well then you probably shouldn't be hosting the interview, eh?
Dont worry, we wont be organising any more free events like this. Why devote time and money so people like you get to express their disapproval?
