Pretty sure that if you hit an enemy on the same frame as they grab you the game gets freaked out and you zip around the map, happened to me first time I fought Gaping Dragon.
It has some pretty interesting speedrun/challenge applications, such as skipping bosses like Iron Golem and Demon Firesage/Centipede Demon (though it is way too precise to be useful in timed runs)
Also grabs are pretty broken in all Souls games. In Dark Souls III an enemy can place you outside the map after a grab if it happens near a step, and in Elden Ring grabs make you immune to fall damage as long as you are still tied to the enemy
It’s called a grab cancel. It’s a SPEEDRUNNER tactic. If you hit an enemy with a running attack on the exact frame that you get hit with a grab attack. It sends you flying

I think that was a bug caused by hitting him just about as he was going to get grappled, and was thrown with such force he was knocked into the void

One of the better bosses in DS1 and imo the best one out of the 4 Lords. Though the standard for that achievement is kinda low with Bullshit of Chaos, Seath who everybod first tries and dps test 4 kings (or rather 3-7 kings)
It’s a shame the game went down so much after O&S. It’s still really really good and I love it but I’d wish they had more development time.
I don't know, I personally found Nito very underwhelming... And I beat him with a bandit dagger, which even at +15, is far from the best weapon in the game... I went in first time, ran around like a dumbass and aggroed everything, died. Went in a second time, stayed near the entrance, killed the few skeletons with a divine dagger, got fucked by the spike coming out of the ground. Went in third time, same thing, but stayed close to Nito except for the AOE and killed him easily.
I don't know, I was just expecting a lot more from a Lord who was hyped up from the game's intro cinematic. But maybe it's just me, as I learned, there are bosses that people struggle with that other people kill on the first try and vice versa (I spent a week and probably more than a hundred tries on O&S).

Four Kings is cool... Nito might be next best, but I wouldn't exactly call his skeleton gank festival good...

@@devinsymonds1602 That’s Quelaag’s furysword. You have to ascend a +10 curved sword/greatsword with her soul at the giant blacksmith in Anor Londo.

Playing DS1 for the first time, probably Nito is the lord I liked the most, the rest of them are kinda underwhelming, and there's Bed of Chaos, can't even express with words how much that boss broke me, I almost gave up on the game because of it.
Rn killed them all and i'm going through the Artorias dlc, before killing Gwyn and finishing the game. Really great game, tho I prefer Dark Souls 3 because of the late game bosses.

I used a maxed out divine club and this fight was a breeze
I have to be honest I completed many runs in ds1 including sl1 challenge but I never saw that grab move haha.

I just fought him, he was one of the easier bosses in the game for me. Though that was probably because I had a divine weapon to kill the skeletons.
Dark Souls had the best bosses imo, Nito really tests your ability to stay calm under pressure.
You can't see him when you first land in the arena, and he will attack you from below. So if you start panic rolling and running around, you'll aggro all the skeletons and make the fight really hard. But if you stay clam, and let him come to you, the fight isn't too bad.

I want to be doubter here but Brian Menards gear doest look like a gear that first timer would run. Or atleast run that doesnt involve knowlegde of the game. BKH, really lucky drop for the first time. Mask of mother 1/3drop. Using pyro etc. Or im just baffled that someone goes for the exact same build as first time blindrun vs me after 500hours into the game.
