From an adventurous balloon ride above the clouds to a monster-filled metropolis, Academy Award®-winning director Pete Docter (“Monsters, Inc.,” “Up”) has taken audiences to unique and imaginative places. In Disney•Pixar’s original movie “ Inside Out,” he will take us to the most extraordinary location of all-inside the mind.
Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it's no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions - Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith). The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley's main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school.

I know this probably a stupid thing to notice but I really like how you can hear the sound of the core memories clinking together whenever Joy moves. Attention to detail.

Sadness being dragged around: This actually feels kind of nice.
In hindsight, it's even funnier because it's an unintentional innuendo.
As TV Tropes pointed out, this was rather fertile for the coarse-minded. And I haven't started on the bit where Sadness drops to the ground, lifts a leg up and sighs, "I'm ready."
It's does feel actually pretty nice to be dragged around by your foot.
@@social_avocado For their entire existence, Joy had been doing her best to put Sadness into a corner and forget about her. Now she was finally paying attention to her. That's why I think Sadness said being dragged around felt nice.

These character designs are so CUTE! Sadness is so cute yet so sad and seems to be the smart one of the group if she's read the manuals that can get them out of there. I love Joy's expression that Sadness might know the way out.

You can tell that sadness is probably Riley's "growing up" like if sadness takes control, it would show her loss of innocence as a child. Sadness seems to know everything and shows how she is the symbolism of maturity. Joy in the other hand is a symbolism of innocence, and joy which of course since Riley is just a kid, joy will obviously take control of Riley's emotions due to overwhelming of innocence and doesn't compute well enough what sadness really means.
The way she says "You are my map" is the best!

Hmmm, looks like Joy, who couldn't be bothered to find a place for Sadness in Riley's life, for Riley's sake of course, also couldn't be bothered to read the manuals. Hm... quite telling. But then I guess it wasn't like there was anything else for Sadness to do with all her time while sitting in the Circle of Sadness.
In other news: "YOU ARE MY MAP." The way she says it.... priceless.

I just hope being a writer isn't going to make me spoil it for myself. Like it tried to do here. Get good enough at it, and you can puzzle out the main plot pretty quick.

Well yeah, if you guys don't get lost we don't have a movie...wait a minute. Sadness didn't read the manuals, she read the script!
Joy is great. But when it comes to sadness, Joy doesn't really let Sadness take in control. When Riley's dad left for work, Joy refused to let Sadness take over. The pizza idea was great, but being sad can really clear up your mind. So Sadness should be in control sometimes.

Well just think. Some people enjoy being sad. Not every person is the same so their reactions to these emotions shouldn't be either. It's a very intriguing movie that, through the trailers, is kind of starting to hint at the plot.

Yes because of her dress but she is bare footed.
I thought she partly reminded me of Marge from the Simpsons, because Joy's dress is the sort of colour as Marge's, lime-green and blue hair like Marge, but only hers is long and bushy. Well, Sadness's hair is blue just as herself, so one should notice that first when regarding Riley's emotions.
Yes because of her dress, but she has short hair, is bare footed and not a fairy.
She originally will be all yellow but the people at pixar will think she will more like tinker bell. And you can see joy is the only emotion to have different colour skin . She also has this sparkling yellow aura in her , but the people at pixar will only put this effect on joy because if they do that to the other 4 , the budget will go thru the roof . But when John Lasster Saw It , It Was Great And Should Be Put In Other Character Too .this is why they can keave this tiny particle left behind .

Love how they designed it to look like the Brain, Love the design choices. Plus, i was skepticle about what could be done with this concept here, but i really think this could work out in their capable hands, and from everything ive seen! Looking forward to this! :D
